1 Lisa Marie Presley Lisa Marie Presley was an American singer-songwriter. She was the only child of singer and actor Elvis Presley and actress Priscilla Presley, as well as the sole heir to her father's estate.

This was a truly shocking loss to start 2023 with. She had cardiac arrest during the Golden Globes and had to be rushed to the hospital, where she passed away. Such an absolutely huge loss for rock 'n' roll music. Yet, she was just three weeks from her 55th birthday, which is too short for a great artist.

This is what happens when somebody influences you to abuse drugs. She was the wife of Michael Jackson, who also overdosed. R.I.P. to the princess of rock 'n' roll (1968-2023).

2 Tina Turner Tina Turner, née Anna Mae Bullock, was a singer, dancer, actress and author, whose career spanned more than half a century, earning her widespread recognition and numerous awards.

The news shocked the world. The undisputed queen of rock 'n' roll officially passed away on May 24th, just two days before her half-birthday. She was known as one half of the duo Ike and Turner and made songs such as What's Love (Gotta Do With It), Proud Mary, Shake Your Tail Feathers, and The Best.

She lost a long battle to multiple health issues, including cancers and a stroke, which led to her official retirement in 2020. R.I.P. (1939-2023).

3 Jay Briscoe Jamin "Jay" Pugh was an American professional wrestler best known by his ring name Jay Briscoe. He was signed with Ring of Honor and also worked for New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

An absolutely tragic way to start 2023. One of the all-time greatest wrestlers ended up in a fatal car accident one week before his 39th birthday. A truly huge loss for WWE. R.I.P. (1984-2023).

4 Ken Block

The king of the Hoonigans and co-founder of DC Shoes ended up in a snowmobile accident. He had the most famous motorsports channel in the history of YouTube. R.I.P. to the king of pro-rally racing (1967-2023).

5 Sinead O'Connor Sinéad Marie Bernadette O’Connor was an Irish singer-songwriter who rose to fame in the late 1980s with her debut album The Lion and the Cobra.

No words for this loss. She had a messed-up life, though. Great things she did include her cover of Nothing Compares 2 U by Prince & the Family, ending up as one of the top two songs of 1990 (the other being Vogue by Madonna). R.I.P. (1966-2023).

6 Angus Cloud

He was known as Fezco in the HBO Max series Euphoria. He was continuing to grow more successful but ended up overdosing on fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, and benzodiazepine. A devastating loss for entertainment. R.I.P. (1988-2023).

7 Jimmy Buffett

A massive loss for music we didn't even see coming. He lost a private battle to Merkel cell carcinoma (which explained why he was rushed to the hospital in May 2023). He was among the greatest artists of Caribbean rock and best known for his song Margaritaville (which led to the existence of the Margaritaville restaurants). R.I.P. (1946-2023).

8 Annie Wersching

We did not see this coming. She was among the greatest soap actresses of all time and also played in many series, including Star Trek: Picard, along with films such as The Rookie and more. She played Tess in The Last of Us (the original game). R.I.P. (1977-2023) from cancer (which she kept private).

9 Matthew Perry Matthew Langford Perry was an American-Canadian actor and writer. Perry is known for his role as Chandler Bing on the long-running NBC television sitcom Friends, as well as his portrayal of Ron Clark in the 2006 television movie The Ron Clark Story.

This really should've been #1 on here. The beloved actor we all grew up with in the '90s and 2000s had cardiac arrest in a similar way to Carrie Fisher. After all, he had a long history of drugs. He will never be matched. We did not see this coming for sure. R.I.P. (1969-2023).
