Best Female Rock Singers of the 2000s
Absolutely fantastic singer!
Who? Who is this Kimberly Freeman woman they have in front of Amy? Let's just put her aside for a second and say that Amy should be at the top of this list in the first place, but being put behind some unknown is awful. Amy takes the top spot. She deserves it.
I love Avril and Amy. I love them so much, but if made to choose one, I would pick Amy because of her amazing vocals. Avril is good because of her lyrical content. I really enjoy both.
Amy deserves to be number 1 out of ten. Her voice is amazing. She sings like an angel. She's very beautiful and can sing from low to high. She has the best female singing voice ever!
Amazing vocal range, killer live performances, and a great person to meet and talk to before the shows. Her vast array of song choices, her willingness to take risks with songs that may not be what some would consider "normal" for a female singer, and her ability to go from very melodic, soft, slow, and touching music such as "The Silence" to edgy, hard, power-driven songs like "Freak Like Me," "I Get Off," etc., to songs like "Familiar Taste of Poison" are what make her such an amazing performer. She's a talent you have to see live to appreciate. She can sing just as well live as she does in the studio, unlike many who cannot duplicate their studio sound because it has been so heavily augmented. She is one of the best female artists and performers I have ever seen.
If you can listen to "Only Happy When It Rains" without singing along, you have no soul.
You've gotta be kidding! Hayley Williams, the most awesome rock singer, is down here? She should be at least in the top ten or in Avril Lavigne's place! Hayley is liked by many people - men, women, young, or old. (Believe me, I'm sure of what I'm saying. My mom likes some of Paramore's songs.) She has a hell of a wide vocal range.
These aren't just the best things about her - she can actually write songs and is the kindest, most down-to-earth, and humble person, as well as a good role model for young girls. Avril Lavigne isn't even rock and is worshipped by 10-year-olds who are tone-deaf.
"All Around Me," "I'm So Sick," "Alive," and "Fully Alive" are awesome! I also love her in "Broken Pieces" by Apocalyptica!
Yvonne Muentener from Switzerland is a fantastic rock star. Already as a teenager, Yve was a great star up on stage. At that time, she was the lead singer of jazz and blues bands. In between, she sang gospel in churches during big weddings. I love her voice, lyrics, look, and, of course, her funny and sexy attitude. To me, she is the best and most charismatic singer and songwriter.
I have worked in the music business for about 40 years. In my opinion, the Swiss rock singer Yvonne Muentener (Yve) has the greatest and most powerful voice I have ever heard. Her lyrics are hilarious.
She deserves to be in the top ten, in my opinion, much higher than Avril Lavigne! Her voice is so original. She is an extremely talented songwriter and incredible live.
I very rarely love every bit of content produced by an artist, but her voice is enchanting and the lyrics are powerful.
Her voice is iconic, her lyrics are unique, and her sound is so original. "Howl," "Spectrum," "Rabbit Heart"... enough said.
Amy Lee is great, but no one can deny that Tarja is left behind! No way! She is one of my favorite singers of all time! I'm currently listening to Forever Yours and obsessing over Deep Silent Complete!
Tarja has the most beautiful voice I have ever heard! She is amazing, and she is the best on stage!
Her music has energy and rhythm, and her lyrics are touching too!
I love her voice, and she's very beautiful.
She writes all her songs and sings live, people! I love her voice too.
She's awesome! She should be at least in the top 2!
Together with her partner, Robert Westerholt, den Adel is one of the founding members of Within Temptation. She has defined their work as epic and cinematic. Her vocals play a major role in the band's sound,... read more
For someone who has had no vocal training, Sharon is so far ahead of the rest. Her voice has both power and emotion. No one can match her singing live, especially Amy Lee, who sucks live.
She's the best. One of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard. On the album The Heart of Everything, you can easily hear the great power and lovely voice of Sharon den Adel.
Sharon den Adel has one of the most addictive voices I have ever heard. I am amazed she is not at the top of this list.
Her music is not clearly "rock" but more avant-garde. I don't mind because she's still great.
She's an acquired taste. Her music and lyrics are amazing.
She should be in the top 5 for sure! So original.
I'm so sick of seeing Amy Lee at the top of every list similar to this one. She's a good singer, yeah, but Simone, Tarja, Sharon, etc., deserve just as much or more praise than her.
Anyway, Simone is just amazing. Her vocals are just breathtaking.
I agree about Amy Lee. There are so many other singers who are far superior to her, Simone being one of them.
Taylor has a very beautiful, raspy voice! Every single song she writes is awesome!
