Best Rock Albums of 2024
2024 was an interesting year for music. It had both good and bad moments to offer. Here are the best rock albums of 2024.
This was a much-needed comeback after the disaster that was Father of All. Some of their most poignant and captivating lyrics to date paint a picture of the screwed-up times we live in with their bluntness and, at times, sarcasm.
Dilemma is one of their best songs in recent memory too.
For a final album to go out on, this is a good choice. Granted, it doesn't top Chuck or even Order in Decline, but it's still a nice blend of everything you've come to expect from the band and then some.
Hell has some of their best riffs, and the Heaven side does have great material too.
Alkaline Trio is a very dynamic band. After Matt Skiba departed from Blink-182, he came back full-swing with this album.
The hooks are captivating and have that Alkaline Trio sound you would expect to hear, with some powerful vocals, catchy riffs, and lyrics that tell interesting stories. Not much else to add here - this was solid.
Might be controversial to include this album, but regardless, this is a solid effort. Mike Shinoda still has it and can rap spectacularly well. His vocal chemistry with Emily Armstrong, by all accounts, is solid.
It has a blend of their old aggressive style and some of their poppier stuff too. Maybe it's not their best album of all time, but it's certainly a step above One More Light, even if that's not saying much.
Seether is on a roll lately, and Shaun Morgan brings his A-game as far as I'm concerned. The riffs are aggressive and punchy, the drums are lively, and Shaun delivers some of his most impressive screams and vocals to date.
I think the addition of Corey Lowery has helped this band find their footing more or less, and it shows.
Jerry Cantrell is one of the best guitarists of the '90s decade. This album proves that he's still got it, both as a guitarist, singer, and songwriter for that matter.
Some of his strongest material since Degradation Trip, it's got a charm that can't be denied. It's a seamless record from start to finish.
An interesting collaboration album, to say the least. It might not top either's respective material from Oasis or Stone Roses, but it does work cohesively.
It blends well, and Liam has improved a lot since his 2006-2009 vocal days. I think it shows both in this album and his solo albums in general.
