Pretty much the same group already, Jeff Beck replaced Eric Clapton in the Yardbirds, then Jimmy page also joined as bassist, which made Beck so mad that he quit.
Yardbirds went along for awhile with Page at lead guitar, then a few more personnel changes along the way, and they changed the name first to "New Yardbirds" for a few gigs, then changed the name again to... Led Zeppelin.
