Top Ten Television Shows Spun Off from Movies

These days many movie series develop television series to keep the franchise moving forward when making more movies seems like an inferior or unprofitable idea. But that doesn't mean that those television spin-offs are going to be lousy. No, sir. This list compiles the best television show spin-offs based on properties that originated in movies.
The Top Ten
1 Fargo Fargo is an American anthology crime drama television series created by Noah Hawley. Inspired by the 1996 film of the same name, the series employs dark humor and intricate plotting across various timelines and settings, all linked by the theme of crime in the American Midwest. Fargo has received critical acclaim for its writing, acting, and thematic depth, winning numerous awards, including Primetime Emmy Awards. Each season functions as a standalone narrative featuring new characters and storylines.

I strongly recommend this show to anyone who has an interest in the genre and hasn't seen it. Some of the best T.V. out there right now.

2 Bates Motel Bates Motel is an American psychological horror drama television series that aired from March 18, 2013 to April 24, 2017. It was developed by Carlton Cuse, Kerry Ehrin, and Anthony Cipriano, and is produced by Universal Television and American Genre for the cable network A&E.The series, a contemporary prequel to Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 film Psycho; based on Robert Bloch's 1959 novel of the same name, depicts the lives of Norman Bates and his mother Norma prior to the events portrayed in the novel and film, albeit in a different fictional town and in a modern-day setting.
3 Ash vs Evil Dead

This show is just a baby but I can see it growing up into a modern classic. It looks groovy enough for me.

4 Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

I was very sad when they cancelled this show after 2 seasons. It sure beats 'Terminator 3'.

5 Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Being a huge MCU fan, watching this show helps me get through the negative spaces in between the releases of the series' films.

6 Star Wars: Clone Wars (2003 TV series)

I am not talking about the CGI "Clone Wars" show. No. This one was far superior.

7 Agent Carter Marvel's Agent Carter, or simply Agent Carter, is an American television series created for ABC by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, inspired by the film Captain America: The First Avenger, and the Marvel One-Shot short film of the same name.

How this show underperformed ratings-wise, I'll never know. I'm not the biggest fan of 2011's Captain America film, but this series gets a 10/10 from me.

8 The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles

I love Indiana Jones. I love the series so much. There may be no Harrison Ford, but this show still brings out the Indy geek in me.

9 Stargate SG-1

I used to watch this series back when it first premiered and only because I couldn't afford the time to keep up with it after all these years did I stop watching it.

10 The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius is an American computer animated television series created by John A. Davis. It is the first spin-off to the 2001 film Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.

I had to add this one. To anyone who had the pleasure of knowing this show when it aired, you're lucky. There were some seriously clever writers for this show, I'll tell you.

The Contenders
11 Back at the Barnyard Back at the Barnyard is a Nickelodeon computer-animated television series that is a spin-off from the 2006 film, Barnyard.
