Top 10 Most Annoying T.V. Characters of All Time
Which characters do you really dislike, and which ones bother you to no end?

Jenny Humphrey - Gossip Girl
Jennifer Tallulah "Jenny" Humphrey is a character in both the Gossip Girl and The It Girl series of novels by Cecily von Ziegesar. In the television adaptation of Gossip Girl, she is portrayed by Taylor Momsen. Jenny is known for her ambition and evolving fashion sense, often clashing with other characters... read more
To be fair, there are lots of annoying characters on Gossip Girl, but Jenny Humphrey takes the cake. She annoys me in almost every episode. She is extremely childish and vindictive. At least Blair is smart with her scheming. Jenny, on the other hand, is just foolish and irritating with her "schemes," if you can even call them that.
She irritated me when she tried to steal Nate from Serena and also when she tried to break up Rufus and Lily just because Serena was mean to her. Well, I wonder why Serena would be mean to you, attempted boyfriend thief!
I hate her so much. She acts like she's a big adult and that all of her bad decisions are justified. Everyone older than her gives her good advice, and all she does is blow it off and make mistakes she could've avoided.
Not to mention, she has the most annoying voice. It's almost a tie between her and Vanessa, but Jenny pulls ahead as my least favorite because she treats the people who actually love her like crap and thinks she's better than everyone else.
-
Dora the Explorer - Dora the Explorer
Dora is the main protagonist in the animated television show "Dora the Explorer." Her primary role is to go on adventures and solve problems with her monkey friend, Boots. The show is designed to be educational, teaching children basic Spanish and problem-solving skills.
Dora is ridiculously stupid and simple-minded. Yes, it's a kids' show, but you don't teach kids by making them feel smart and accomplished for pointing out something that's literally right in front of their noses. You want to know where the mountain is, Dora? It's right behind you! But if you don't stop using your ridiculously obnoxious voice to teach pseudo-Spanish and find your own mountain for a change, I'm going to put it somewhere else!
Wow, she must have the most irresponsible parents in the world. How is it her parents aren't aware of their 5-year-old daughter exploring random and dangerous places with her monkey friend? Meanwhile, I'm in junior high and my mom would freak out if I ever left the house wearing shorts, especially at night.
-
Sue Heck - The Middle
She really annoys me!
Rewind back to seasons 1 and 2. She wasn't that bad. She was just a young teen geek girl dealing with normal problems. I admit, I rooted for her sometimes. I always expected her to develop as a character, but she didn't, not really.
Seriously, every character but Sue Heck has developed. Mike has become more caring, Frankie has become more relaxed, Axel has become kinder, and even Brick has finally made a friend this season. But Sue?
The only development Sue gets is that things sometimes go her way. Her maturity hasn't changed from that of a 14-year-old, and if anything, she is getting worse. I always thought she would start becoming less dorky and more of a normal person, but no. She still wears hideous clothes, acts annoyingly, still wears some form of braces, and resets her behavior constantly.
Screw Sue, her unattractive face, her ugly clothes, and her annoying character.
Also, the actress doesn't shave her armpits, according to a picture I saw.
-
Barney - Barney & Friends
Barney the Dinosaur is a purple dinosaur character from the TV series Barney & Friends, as well as the earlier home video series Barney and the Backyard Gang. He was created by Sheryl Leach in 1987 to entertain her two-year-old son. Barney is widely recognized for singing the "I Love You" song and has... read more
Ok, I hate Barney so much. This is for babies. Let's sing this song! I mean, I love singing, but not when it's about kids learning stuff! Well, at least it's better than Dora the Explorer. Screw that show!
He is the most annoying and irritating character of all time. Put him as the worst, I beg you! Well, Barney, when you say I love you, I don't love you. Put him in prison for being irritating!
Extremely irritating and weird. Barney is the most annoying thing ever, and he should at least be above SpongeBob because SpongeBob is awesome and Barney SUCKS!
-
Lana Lang - Smallville
Her constant whining tops the list. Lana Lang is always complaining about how others keep secrets from her, yet she keeps fifty times more secrets herself. She always has a backup boyfriend and seems to run to them when she has the slightest disagreement with her current boyfriend.
For instance, Lana was with Whitney yet always led on Clark. Then she came back from Paris with boyfriend Adam, whom she pretty much made destroy his life to be with her, only to end up breaking up. Then Lana loves Clark, but wait, she has to marry Lex first while still making googly eyes at Clark. She always seems to date men just to get back at another man.
She always complains about everyone leaving her, yet if she gets a splinter, the entire Smallville cast will show up with tweezers. One minute she wants people to treat her like a strong, independent woman, then in the very same breath she puts on this little girl act.
Everybody has to protect her from every little thing, yet she gets mad when they don't let her do what she wants. She gets mad when someone dares to have a different opinion than hers. She claims that Chloe is her best friend, yet she always treats her as an afterthought. Worse, she only acknowledges Chloe when she needs her for some reason or another.
-
Scrappy-Doo - The Adventures of Scooby Doo
Scrappy Doo is the nephew of Scooby-Doo. He is known for his fearless attitude and often volunteers to take on villains directly. Scrappy was introduced to the Scooby-Doo franchise in 1979 and became a recurring character known for his catchphrase, Puppy Power!
That's one dog I'd send to the pound to be put to sleep. He's always trying to pick fights. He's all over the place and won't sit still, and he won't shut up.
In the TV shows, he's annoying, but in the animated movies like The Boo Brothers, Reluctant Werewolf, and Ghoul School, he was pretty good.
And Scooby-Dum, whom he replaced, wasn't all that cool either.
-
Miley Stewart - Hannah Montana
Miley Ray Stewart is the fictional main character in the Disney Channel television series Hannah Montana, portrayed by Miley Cyrus. The character leads a double life as an average teenage girl and a famous pop singer. The show originally aired from March 24, 2006, to January 16, 2011.
The worst thing to ever happen to humankind. Disney used to make amazing animated films that could truly be considered art, like The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin. But Disney Channel nowadays is horrible.
I remember my sister being addicted to this show. It was like three years ago, and she was hogging the TV watching her. I tried to watch it a bit too, but instantly gave up within less than five minutes.
Bad. Terrible. Horrible. Dreadful. Every synonym in the book. Can't believe she has reached the fame that she has. Not a good role model for these young girls to watch at all.
-
Peyton Sawyer - One Tree Hill
Peyton is a pretty terrible friend. She is so obsessed with the chase and the drama that once she has something good, she can't appreciate it. I think it's stupid how fast Lucas jumped from Brooke to Peyton, and how Peyton always makes herself out to be the victim. She should feel bad for cheating behind Brooke's back, not once, but twice! That's ridiculous.
Also, the whole Derrick thing was her fault. Why the hell do you have a public video blog that anyone in the world can watch? Of course, there are psychos out there. How is that not obvious, and why does nobody call her out for that? I liked her and Jake's storyline and wish she had just married him and left the show.
-
Skyler White - Breaking Bad
Skyler did nothing but complain all the time. That's not an exaggeration. She complained about everything. Skyler was hardly ever in danger for the whole series. In contrast, Walt was staring down the barrel of a gun for pretty much the entire series.
Walt was risking his life to make money for his family, and how does Skyler repay him? By going out and cheating on him. What Walt did was for Skyler and the family, not to Skyler and the family. She invited conflict throughout the entire series and did nothing to help her own family. Walt, on the other hand, died to ensure his family's safety, and Skyler never gave a hoot about anything that Walt ever did.
-
Screech Powers - Saved By The Bell
He is just the worst. I loved the show, but whenever he was on, I wanted to turn it off. He was never funny and he was really weird. I wish they could have written him out or never had him to begin with.
Do people really think he's funny?
-
?
Will Smith - The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
By Season 4, he really started to get on my nerves.
"You know whaat I'm sayin'? You know whaaat I'm sayin'? You know, you know?"
Yes, we know. Now stop saying it.

Margaret Joseph "Peggy" Hill is a fictional character from the American animated series King of the Hill, created by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels. She is the wife of Hank Hill and the mother of Bobby Hill. Peggy works as a substitute teacher and is characterized by her strong self-confidence and overestimation... read more
She thinks that she knows everything and can't speak Spanish to save her life. Sure, she has good intentions and even has a passion for teaching, but God knows she can't teach.
She is so full of herself, and every time she tries to do anything, she messes it up, and then the whole episode becomes about her. Honestly, she is the most annoying, self-loathing, and selfish woman I have ever seen. She thinks she knows everything when really she knows nothing.
Everything she does, she thinks is the best thing ever, and when something goes wrong, Hank has to save her or fix what she totally screwed up. She never does anything right. She always messes everything up and never helps anyone.
-
Steve Urkel - Family Matters
Steven Quincy Urkel is a fictional character from the American sitcom Family Matters, which aired on ABC and later CBS. Portrayed by Jaleel White, he was originally intended to appear in only one episode. However, he became the show's most popular character and eventually the central figure.
Family Matters is one of my favorite shows to watch. However, their editing was so bad, they had to get rid of Judy Winslow. At first, Urkel was kind of funny and would be a good laugh for 5-8 minutes. But then, almost every episode was about him and not the Winslows. The producers just made a show about a family, and the main character ended up being the family's neighbor. He was kind of funny at first, but later on, he should have been put to the side just a little bit.
In later seasons, I do not even think the show should have been called Family Matters. It should have been called "The Steve Urkel Show" or "Urkel and the Winslows." He just got way too much attention. He knocked out Judy midway through the show. He should have just been a recurring character and later main character like Waldo and Myra.
-
Haley James Scott - One Tree Hill
I agree, she is so annoying. In the first season, she was okay, not that great, but still likable. In season 2, she became so self-centered and also a hypocrite. I get that you need to follow your dreams and stuff, but sacrificing your marriage is definitely not the way. Also, she made out with Chris and then claimed it was just a kiss. Huh, girl, you keep telling yourself that.
After that, she just waltzed back into One Tree Hill and expected everyone to forgive her. I mean, if you can't come when your husband is in a coma, why come at all? Finally, she signed the divorce papers, which could have been avoided if she hadn't been so selfish, and she didn't even show remorse when signing them. She is one of the weakest characters in One Tree Hill.
-
Joffrey Baratheon - Game of Thrones

I know nothing of this show, but I've heard this guy called the most annoying TV character. So, yeah.
-
Marie Schrader - Breaking Bad
Hank should have dumped that kleptomaniac, judgmental hypocrite.
-
Lisa Simpson - The Simpsons
Lisa Marie Simpson is a fictional character in the animated television series The Simpsons. She's the middle child and the most intelligent member of the Simpson family. Lisa is known for her academic excellence, strong moral convictions, and love for jazz music.
She has no guts and doesn't stick up for herself. Too uptight for her age.
-
Brick Heck - The Middle
I agree with everyone else here. I just started watching this show about three or four months ago, and I have to say, this kid has been getting under my skin more and more with every episode! In what world is it okay to check out books and return them all messed up? He doesn't think it's wrong to borrow something and then return it all messed up and, on top of everything, not even take responsibility for what he's done to the property. He is a self-centered, manipulative, selfish brat. I know it's just a TV show, but there are kids out there who act just like him. If I were his mother, I would be having a conversation about actions and consequences real quick!
-
Kenny Powers - Eastbound & Down
-
SpongeBob SquarePants - SpongeBob SquarePants
SpongeBob SquarePants is a fictional character and the titular protagonist of the American animated television series of the same name. SpongeBob is known for his bright optimism and naive, childish tendencies. He often gets into trouble in Bikini Bottom.... read more
This show is not even funny.
What a stupid random character. A yellow sponge lives under water and does stupid things for no reason and just wastes time. God! It is a crime! Children should not watch it, just like they should not watch Dora and every stupid show from Nickelodeon.
Did I mention it's so boring and not funny?
It's on the list because of the episodes after the first SpongeBob Movie, which was the beginning of the dark age of SpongeBob SquarePants. There were no more good episodes, and now it sucks.
-
Maria LaGuerta - Dexter
She's got her annoying traits, but she sure is a lot more likable than sewer-mouth Debra.
-

He NEVER gets scolded, EVER! This show is telling kids that they can do whatever they want and not get in trouble!
He literally got mad at a deaf kid once because he couldn't hear him. I think that's all I have to say.
-
Finn the Human - Adventure Time
Finn Mertens, also known as Finn the Human, is a fictional character and the main protagonist of the American animated television series Adventure Time, created by Pendleton Ward. Finn starts as a childish and naive character but eventually grows into a mature and laid-back character in the show's later... read more
At first, when I watched Adventure Time, it was one of the coolest shows. Now, I'm just like, Finn is damn annoying. His scream sounds like a girl, he acts so cocky, and he thinks he can do anything when he can't without Jake. If it wasn't for Jake, he couldn't do anything. He's whiny, a crybaby, obnoxious, and loud. I thought I was the only one who found him annoying.
Finn is stupid and weak. He blames other people for his own actions (e.g., Jake died after the wand touched his forehead due to the Mars person holding it getting KOed by Finn). He even grounds the Ice King. Hey, children will be influenced by this and will try to ground their own parents.
-
Ice King - Adventure time with Finn and Jake
The Ice King is a central character in the American animated television series Adventure Time, which aired from 2010 to 2018.
