Stupid ending

The entire gimmick was to make it to the center of the universe, and WHAT do you get? A god-like entity that basically restarts your game. Why did people even waste their time?

Just crash into the center of the galaxy and restart

This is even worse than Super Mario Bros 2's ending because instead of trying to rebel against Bowser when he knocked away Mario for wanting to marrying her again, she waited for the fight happening, then rejected both mario and bowser despite bowser has much more reason to be rejected than Mario (He kidnapped her and forced her to marry him). Sure, Super Mario Odyssey is good, but the ending didn't worth the effort, especially when it's another plot about saving a kidnapped princess, and before bing rejected by her this time. And of course, the rest of the ending doesn't make any sense. I mean, how could Mario be happy after being rejected? If they tried to make it funny, they completely failed.
In my opinion, Super Mario Odyssey definitely had the worst ending of every Mario games created. Even if Mario and Peach were getting married, Bowser will STILL kidnapp her.

Both endings are basically the same, only the "good" ending had flowers blooming after the cutscene. So if you want the good ending, you're not really missing anything.
