This show is amazing but it has grusome violence and strooong language every episode but this is because the mafia and people born in new jersey is like

A toss-up for #1 between this and Breaking Bad.

2 The Wire The Wire is an American crime drama television series set and produced in Baltimore, Maryland. Created and primarily written by author and former police reporter David Simon, the series was broadcast by the cable network HBO in the United States.

In terms of overall execution (acting, directing etc) I would choose Breaking Bad any day. However, since we're talking about writing alone, then I gotta give it to the Wire. The dialogue, the themes, the complex plot- everything about this show's writing is fantastic. You can analyze this show in so many different ways which is a testament to the genius of David Simin and his team of writers.
