Most Overrated Rappers of All Time

The Contenders: Page 2

21 T.I. T.I. Clifford Joseph Harris, Jr., better known by his stage names T.I. and Tip, is an American hip hop recording artist and actor from Atlanta, Georgia.

He ain't over-rated, he's a rapper from the south who people know him for songs like: Live your Life or Whatever you Like. If its anything, I think he's an rapper who deserves more credit

I still have TI struggle music when he was TIP and only the hood listen. TI now is jingle rapper no heart just another I made rapper. Just making a pay check rapper

T. I tell stories with his music he deserves more credit than yall giving him. REAL LIFE STORIES

Very overrated. I have never heard a good song from him.

22 John Cena John Cena John Felix Anthony Cena Jr. (/ˈsiːnə/; born April 23, 1977) is an American professional wrestler, rapper, actor, and reality television show host signed to WWE, where he is assigned to the SmackDown brand. ...read more.

John Cena is just a wannabe I don't know much about him but I heard him copy at least 10 Eminem songs so I don't think anyone actually classifies him as a rapper wrestler, sure, but not rapper

Lol. Some people don't realize that he did rap. Also he isn't really a wrestler he's in WWE the fake pro Wrestling league. I'm an actual wrestler and I don't think that John Cena classifies or anyone in WWE because in wrestling we don't kick people we wrestle them

He's made about five songs. These are either for his theme song or video games.

Guess we can cross rapping AND acting as career possibilities for John Cena.

23 2pac 2pac Tupac Amaru Shakur, also known as 2Pac, was an American rapper and actor born on June 16, 1971 in East Harlem, New York. Tupac sold over 75 million records worldwide and has been referred to in multiple major publications such as Rolling Stone as one of the greatest music artists of all time. 2Pac was ...read more.

2pac isn't overrated. He earned every bit of respect that he got. He's about number 6 on the greatest rappers ever list.

Tupac is one of the greatest Artist of all time, And I saw his slighty under-rated in this generation.

Honestly he is overrated. Like most of the people keep on calling him to be the greatest of all time. Most of those people haven't listened even to his all the work. They just keep on chanting Changes, Hail Mary, Dear Mama and Keep ya head up. If you listen to all his work you will realize he is not that special. He was good but not the greatest of all time. He gets all this fame because he died young when he was at his best. So keep on giving this excuse. Biggie gets the same fame, although he was good too. Had Eminem died after The Eminem Show, he would called the greatest of all time. In my opinion Eminem and Nas are the greatest rappers of all time.

Pac is the greatest of all time and doesn't get enough respect from the current generation of rappers. he's not just a rapper, he's a poet simply put. If you hate on him or call him overrated, then check yourself, and stop listening to lil yachty man.

24 Future Future

He is insanely bad and I do not understand a word he "speaks"
Too much auto tune and it's scary to listen to.

He sounds like he's crying on every track. I can't sit through 30 seconds of any of his music.

Needs to be way higher up on this list. Just listen to karate chop and you will understand why

Straight garbage. All because of idiots, he became one of the most popular rappers of this generation and made the rap game weeker than it already is and allowed all these trashy so called "artists" in the game.

25 Kendrick Lamar Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick tells stories better then any rapper ever his bars aren't there but you heard control right - kingbrooks

This creep needs to stop rapping and learn to comb this nappy head - KRAKEN3K

He should do tracks with like Kid Cudi or Childish Gambino. I'm not sure anybody understands what lane he's in... But I would like to hear those collaborations.

Ever since his songs started to become hits, people started hating on him as well as started comparing him to 'Pac, Nas etc.

Ugh! He sounds like a 12 year old girl who just got kiked in the vag! Also his music sucks! TPAB and GKMC are some of the most overrated albums of all time. - DaWyteNight

26 The Game The Game Jayceon Terrell Taylor, better known by his stage name The Game, is an American rapper and actor. He was born on November 29, 1979 in Los Angeles, California. Game spent most of his childhood in foster care (up until high school) even though he knew all of his brothers and sisters. Since 2002, Game ...read more.

The Game is the greatest hands down!

Dudes obsessed with comparing himself to everyone else. He ways claims to be the "king" and puts himself in the same category as pac, but nobody else gives him this title. He just repetitively states it in every song. How can he be the best when all his comparisons are to other rappers?

Was one of the best rappers in mid 2000's. I mean the documentary and doctors advocate are strait classics. Lax was pretty good too but fell off so hard after that. I was so disappointed when jesus piece came out, I was so excited to hear it but it was that Lil Wayne auto tune B.S. rap. It's to bad such a great hard core west coast rapper had to fall off like that.

Everyone says he fell some around LAX, The Red Album, and Jesus Piece, but I think he's still the best.

27 DMX DMX

What dmx is good, he have different style and listen to the song slippin

Dmx is a dark poet, listen to his songs to feel and see what everyone fears which is coming in contact with the devil.

Aha, Dmx man... He's the type of guy who gives rap a bad name... He only raps about stereotypical wack, he has no skill in his raps, the beats have the most annoying tunes I have heard in any type of music, and most of all, his verse is the same in EVERY SINGLE SONG. The time when he got big was the mark of the end of the golden era of hip hop (don't get me wrong, there are some GREAT artists and albums out there, but there are just a lot more bad ones...).

He's pretty good actually... I don't think he's that overrated I mean most of my friends in school don't know him!

28 Kid Cudi Kid Cudi Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, better known by his stage name Kid Cudi, is an American recording artist and actor from Cleveland, Ohio.

Are you kidding me this guys so cool, his lyrics sre just to good, and so is his rapping

Kid cudi is not only a rapper, but also has a great singing voice. His beats are mesmerizing, and each of his songs has a meaning to them. Give him a try you will not regret it. He should be number 1

What the hell is kid cudi doing here? He isn't overrated and he's great

He's amazing! Why is he on this list?

29 Trinidad James Trinidad James Nicholas Williams, better known by his stage name Trinidad James, is an American rapper based out of Atlanta, Georgia.

He's not overrated. He sucks, but everybody hates him.

A corny Jamaican fool with no talent.

This dude sounds he need to blow his nose.

Can't freestyle to save his life.

30 Hopsin Hopsin Marcus Jamal Hopson, better known by his stage name Hopsin, is an American rapper, record producer, director and actor from Los Angeles, California.

Again why is he even on here he's not overrated at all.

Overrated rapper with a corny flow, wack lyrics and disses rappers that are better than him too much, like Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar.

He's not overrated, if anything he's underrated - KrazzyMadd

Overrated to the max. He's not terrible, as I at least get the sense that he is trying. But his flow is average, his bars would be enough to make a 5 year old cringe which is made worse by his severe egotistical nature, and his beats are generally, at best, mediocre. He's got nothing on Kanye or Lil Wayne (in 2010 and back and 2006 and
back, respectively), or especially Eminem or Kendrick. - WonkeyDude98

31 Mac Miller Mac Miller Malcolm James McCormick, best known by his stage name Mac Miller, is an American rapper from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

There are way too many weed rappers and his voice is annoying. He was alright but then he did Donald trump which is pathetic

Just a wanna be white rapper like he is the next Slim Shady, hell no, Eminem is a legend.

His voice is so annoying! He copies everyone else's lyrics! Why is this idiot still popular? Holy Crap!

Garbage. Another white wannabe "rapper" who sucks. And by the way...not a rapper.

32 Young Jeezy Young Jeezy

Absolute BLASPHEMY! Whoever put this man on this list is illiterate and does not know good music. I am in disbelief. Smh.

Young Jeezy has great, interesting lyrics, a good flow, and really cool, hard, loud, voice.

His old stuff was great but fell off hard lately

Y'all tripping'. Jeez gotta couple of CD's you don't even have to fast forward.

33 Notorious B.I.G. Notorious B.I.G. Christopher George Latore Wallace, better known by his stage name, The Notorious B.I.G (a.k.a. Biggie Smalls), is consistently ranked as one of the best rappers of all time. The Notorious B.I.G was born May 21, 1972, he was born in Brooklyn, New York. At the age of 24 The Notorious B.I.G was murdered ...read more.

You're out of your mind kid. Biggie is timeless, he is/was the greatest of all time. He has a limited collection due to being murdered but what he put out in his time is better than anything else out out by anyone.

Rap is about being real. The realest rappers get the most respect. In this regard Biggie was a fake. A middle class kid with Nintendo games rapping about starving, growing up in a one room shack. His School Teacher Momma says, "We had a seven room apartment. I gave him everything he needed. We never went hungry." He rapped about being street -- when in reality he was a middle class privileged kid who slang some drugs. He wasn't street or ghettto, period. People argue about who was better -- Biggie or Tupac. All I gotta say is that Kendrick Lamar and Eminem are still talking about Pacs genius. Nobody talking about Biggie anymore. Warriors in South Africa dance to Tupac before going to war. The Game rewrote Billboards list to place Tupac at number one. The Vatican recognized "Changes" as one of the most influential rap songs. Who's talking about Biggie's stuff anymore? All he talked about was being a player -- he never lifted up African Americans like 'Pac the Black Panther Warrior Poet.

This is why 2pac is on the list. People like you who think it's all about personality when it comes to hip hop. And one song about poverty does not equal constant whining about it. Don't get it twisted. Hip hop isn't about being "real". It's about lyrics, rhymes, flow, and delivery. Basically rap is about rapping, not being a nice guy with a good message - Themusicman

Overrated just like Tupac but better than him. He and pac get the same fame because both of them died young at the time when they were at their best. So people keep on giving this excuse. But still he was way better than Pac. His flow was excellent and he had clever word play and metaphors. The only thing in which Pac was better than him was 'lyrical subject', not lyrics. Had Nas would have died after Illmatic and Eminem after The Eminem Show, then they would have called the greatest of all time. In my opinion Eminem and Nas are the best rappers of all time.

Exactly. It's always a personality contest when it comes to pac - Themusicman

Biggie Smalls is the illest, but come on seriously, Biggie in this list? Biggie had the best flow, best delivery, remarkable career and you put him on this list?

35 Big Sean Big Sean Sean Michael Leonard Anderson, known professionally as Big Sean, is an American hip hop recording artist from Detroit, Michigan.

Can't rap even if it depended on his life.

He's ok just sounds a little lazy at times.

Big sean huh? More like big sack of crap

Very hit or miss. Dude is actually capable of spitting facts (See Detroit vs Everybody, Control), but then again I can't listen to someone saying "I DON'T, mess WITH, YOU! " repeatedly and call it good music - Themusicman

36 Vanilla Ice Vanilla Ice Robert Matthew Van Winkle, known by his stage name, Vanilla Ice, is an American rapper, actor and television host.

He's not overrated because everyone thinks he sucks

To be fair, no-one really takes this guy seriously anymore. His success mainly came from how his songs incorporated catchy baselines from other songs into his work, thereby fooling people to actually liking his music. - Mrveteran

Dude just check out Ice Ice Baby this guy can rap and he's nothing like Lil Wayne who autotunes himself

I like Vanilla Ice because
1. He's not a douchebag
2. He doesn't diss everyone who is better than him
3. He doesn't hate anyone or try's to hurt anyone
4. His raps aren't terrible
5. He's just doing what he likes and I accept that - DaLizts

37 P Diddy

P diddy is only known because of biggie smalls (Rip)

Biggie made this phony a known person and p diddy is still known till this day in my opinion this is what we are doing here on this website opinions well in my opinion Where ever diddy is seen or thought of he needs to say biggie made me I am no one. the only song people know him for is I'll be missing you dedicated yo biggie and I only heard it because of rush hour 2 man that was a good movie but yeah

For those who don't know The while reason Biggie (R.I.P) started rapping was because of P.Diddy. He was the one who motivated Biggie to be A rapper and plus P.Diddy wasn't and isn't so popular anyway so you really can't say he's overrated.

I like this guy at-least his gentle habit when rapping

P Diddy talks to much on biggie's songs. I'll be Missing You is a great song though.

38 Dr. Dre Dr. Dre Andre Romelle Young, better known by his stage name Dr. Dre, is an American rapper, record producer, and entrepreneur. He is the founder and current CEO of Aftermath Entertainment and Beats Electronics.

This guy isn't a rapper. He is the entropeneur of rap and an embassador. He is an icon in rap history. He might of laid down a few rhymes but he's a producer first, rapper second - 3anegroes

He's an amazing producer and all but not a rapper, sorry - he doesn't even write his own lyrics.

He's the greatest rapper alongside Eminem, Hopsin, Kendrick, and Locksmith. The best producer ever, and a great musician

Great producer and good rapper

40 G Eazy

You don't understand. He's a very good artist and I'm pretty sure u haven't listened to "Achievement" "Opportunity Cost" "I mean it" "Marilyn" "Far Alone" "Rebel" "Lady Killers" "Kings". He's a good rapper honestly if u ACTUALLY listen to his music.

Underrated because he can't rap. All he does is speak.

He's an absolute baller and great lyricist. But not overrated. He is wayyy underrated.
