The Contenders: Page 18

341 Camel

They were among the best proponents of Progressive Rock during the 1970s, on par with King Crimson, I should say. But for unfathomable reasons, their music did not reach the number of ears it should have. In terms of musical ability, I'd rank them right up there - alongside Crimson, Pink Floyd. It has indeed been a loss for humanity - missing out on the genius of Andrew Latimer!

342 Guster

An amazing alternative band from Boston, MA. Some of their greatest songs are "Ruby Falls", "Amsterdam", "Red Oyster Cult", "The Beginning of the End", and "Satellite"!

343 Living Colour Living Colour Living Colour is an American rock band from New York City, formed in 1984. Stylistically, the band's music is a creative fusion influenced by heavy metal, punk rock, funk, jazz, hip hop and alternative rock.
344 Boys Like Girls Boys Like Girls Boys Like Girls is an American pop rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. Formed in 2005, the group gained mainstream recognition when it released its self-titled debut album.
345 Tenth Avenue North
346 The Cars The Cars The Cars are an American rock band that emerged from the new wave scene in the late 1970s. The band originated in Boston, Massachusetts in 1976, with singer, rhythm guitarist and songwriter Ric Ocasek, singer and bassist Benjamin Orr, lead guitarist Elliot Easton, keyboardist Greg Hawkes and drummer ...read more.

So great and so underrated. So many great hits and not enough recognition. And Ric Ocasek and Benjamin Orr are both such great singers/guitarists. R.I.P. benjamin Orr. You will be missed. The Cars RULE!

347 Florence and the Machine Florence and the Machine Florence and the Machine are an English indie rock band that formed in London in 2007, consisting of lead singer Florence Welch, Isabella Summers, and a collaboration of other artists.

Such a good band, I don't know why they aren't at the top of this

348 Travis

Wow! One the best selections. Have most of their albums.

349 Outlandish

They wrote almost all their music. Their sound is very unique, distinct and different from other bands and mainstream music. that's why they are called Outlandish. The members of the group represent diversity in terms of ethnicity, race and religion.

350 Volbeat Volbeat Volbeat are a Danish metal band which was formed in Copenhagen. They play a fusion of rock and roll, heavy metal and rockabilly.

Can make any crappy song awesome.

351 Gentle Giant Gentle Giant Gentle Giant were a British progressive rock band active between 1970 and 1980. The band was known for the complexity and sophistication of its music and for the varied musical skills of its members.

Seriously, give these guys a listen. One of the best prog bands from the 1970s, right up there with bands like Yes and Jethro Tull. Nobody's more underrated!

352 Aerosmith Aerosmith Aerosmith is an American rock band, sometimes referred to as "the Bad Boys from Boston" and "America's Greatest Rock and Roll Band".

They are just as good as The Rolling Stones in musicianship, in proportion to their years active. Unfortunately, they are discrinated against just because they are American. Sadly, people can't separate music and politics. World Idol back in 2005 proves my case when the American Singer got the least votes even though he/she (can't remember and its beside the point) was one of the best, just because the singers' country invaded Iraq.

Aerosmith is so underrated. They don't get as much praise as Led Zeppelin; Guns N' Roses; etc. But they have so many great hits and they're a rock and roll legend. The Bad Boys from Boston! THEY ROCK!

353 Alice Cooper Alice Cooper Alice Cooper was an American rock band formed in Phoenix, Arizona in 1964. The band consisted of lead singer Vince Furnier, Glen Buxton, Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway, and Neal Smith.

Another band/musician who needs more credit and recognition. He rocks! And his concerts are all the more interesting because he actually puts on a show. Crutches, snakes, baby dolls, guillotine, etc. He's a showman!

354 Ozzy Osbourne Ozzy Osbourne John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne was born on December 3, 1948. He is also known as ''The Prince of Darkness''. Ozzy is an English singer, songwriter, and television personality. He rose to prominence in the early 1970s as the lead vocalist of the band Black Sabbath. Osbourne was fired from Black Sabbath ...read more.

Ozzy is the Godfaether of Heavy Metal, yet not as praised as Led Zeppelin, Guns N' Roses, etc. He needs more recognition. He rocks! Even after leaving Black Sabbath he has still done some kickass music!

355 The J. Geils Band

I love these guys. They are so great yet so underrated, which is sad because they have so many great albums/hits. My favorite albums: Love Stinks, Freeze Frame, and Sanctuary. These guys ROCK!
