Top 10 Worst Ren and Stimpy Show Episodes From Seasons 3, 4, and 5
Once you get into seasons 3, 4, and 5 of The Ren & Stimpy Show, you can feel the wheels wobbling. These are the post John K episodes, the stretch after Nickelodeon pushed him out, and a lot of fans think the series lost some of its bite, timing, and weird little spark right there. You still get loud gross-out gags and frantic faces, but now you also run into stories that feel dragged out, jokes that land with a thud, and whole episodes that leave you wondering how this made it past the storyboard stage.
That is what makes this batch so frustrating when you watch it, because you can see the show trying to act like its old self while missing a big part of what made the earlier stuff click. Instead of the sharp chaos and nasty little charm that pulled you in, you get a lot more noise, a lot less payoff, and the kind of cartoon energy that feels like it is running on fumes.

It's a Dog's Life (Season 4)
This is basically a remake of Man's Best Friend, only much worse, if that's possible. Ren and Stimpy are almost sentenced to death at the pound, but they're adopted by an old lady who abuses them throughout the episode.
Later, the old lady is murdered by the butler, who gets all the benefits from her will, while Ren and Stimpy are turned into statues along with her.
I've never watched this, but it just sounds disturbing. Ren and Stimpy almost get gassed, abused, and then killed and stuffed at the end? Really, Nick? You banned Man's Best Friend (which was an amazing episode and didn't deserve that), but you leave this episode as it is? I've never seen a network so hypocritical in my life.

Travelogue (Season 4)
This episode is just plain disgusting. They merely tried to put in as much gross stuff as possible without understanding how gross-out humor works.
-
Circus Midgets (Season 3)
The entire episode consists of Ren and Stimpy being abused by two circus midgets for nearly the entire duration. At one point, the circus midgets kidnap a bunch of random people just so they can be their audience and abuse Ren and Stimpy even more.
At the end, just when it seems like they're safe, they run into the Fire Chief, who really hates circus midgets and attacks them even further. This is an unfunny episode that's way too mean-spirited.
-
Jerry the Bellybutton Elf (Season 3)
Just an awful episode. Stimpy plays with his bellybutton despite Ren's warnings and gets sucked in, where he meets Jerry the Bellybutton Elf, horribly voiced by, of all people, Gilbert Gottfried.
-
Aloha Hoek (Season 4)
There are so many problems with this episode, and the twist ending just comes out of nowhere. It's not clever. It's just insulting.
-
Bass Masters (Season 3)
Ren is way too unlikable in this episode, and Walter Cobb is just thrown in for no real reason. It's also way too unfocused.
Ren dies at the end of the episode.
-
Hard Times for Haggis (Season 3)
Another really awful episode. The episode consists of Haggis McHaggis wanting to get revenge on Ren and Stimpy, blaming them for taking his spotlight when, in reality, they did absolutely nothing to him.
Haggis is just way too unlikable and hard to sympathize with.
-
Galoot Wranglers (Season 4)
A lazy and boring episode. They clearly realized that Walter Cobb had overstayed his welcome, so they decided to kill him off.
-
Egg Yolkeo (Season 4)
A completely horrible parody of a classic story. It's neither funny nor memorable.
-
Feud for Sale (Season 5)
