Top 10 Bands that are Heavy but Not Heavy Enough to Be Called Metal

Since this is my first list why not do something i like which is metal and i like anything thats metal so this list will be about bands that are Heavy but but heavy enough to be called Metal
The Top Ten
1 AC/DC AC/DC are a Australian hard rock band, formed in November 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young, who continued as members until Malcolm's illness and departure in 2014 . They were fronted by Bon Scott until his untimely death due to alcohol poisoning in 1979, after which they hired Brian Johnson to front the band. Commonly referred to as a hard rock or blues rock band.

The reason all these bands aren't metal isn't that they aren't heavy enough. The reason is that their music is based either on blues/RNR or punk. Metal is based on classical music. Heaviness isn't the most important criterion. Hardcore punk is heavier than many metal subgenres. I mean the list title is a bit misleading.

Yes do have some heavy songs but they are not metal they are hard rock because they have blues influence in them

I totally agree this band is called metal when they are hard rock

Rather than hard rock I'd say they are more from the punk rock side. But Zacky Vengeance fits in this category. Synyster Gates fits punk, hard rock, metal all these genres.

I think some songs of theirs are pretty metal, Nightmare...
nevermind, that's it, but they are pretty good. All of their stuff is a little to light, but not Pink Floyd light (from what I heard from them, I'm not a fan because they seemed pretty light) Afterlife's kinda light, etc.

While some songs have metal influences in them most of their songs are Hard Rock an example would be Hail to the King which is a Hard Rock song

A gray area between hard rock and heavy metal. Hail to the King is more hard-rock, while The Stage has a bit more progressive sound

6 Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin was an English hard rock band formed in London in 1968 as the New Yardbirds. The group consisted of Robert Plant (Vocal), Jimmy Page (Guitar), John Paul Jones (Bass, Keyboard) and John Bonham (Drums) and was very much the child of Jimmy Page who even financed their first tour. He had tasted some previous success with The [original] Yardbirds and was friendly with some big names in rock. Page states it was Keith Moon of The Who that claimed the band could only go down, like a lead balloon -- thus prompting the iconic name of Led Zeppelin. The band's heavy, guitar-driven sound, rooted in blues and psychedelia on their early albums, has earned them recognition as one of the progenitors ...read more.

Led Zeppelin may have blues influences in their songs. But they have some songs too that broke the chain of blues and entered into another music world. And most prominent song of this kinds is communication breakdown. Look at the strumming of this song. That isn't blues inspired. I'd say it's a very weak kind of heavy metal riff. But rather than metal, it inspired punk rock. And which was later used in thrash metal.

While they do have some Heavy songs they aren't metal at all because a lot of their songs have blues influence in them

Not the slightest bit heavy iyam! I wouldn't even say they were rock let alone metal! Heard louder pop-punk band to be honest!

Metal did have big influence on these guys
