The Contenders: Page 20
Undoubtedly the most talented actress of all time. Effortlessly performing in both dramatic and comedy roles, not to mention all those musicals! She could dance, act and sing while connecting with the audience in a way that made it impossible not to love this lady or at least leave the movie theatre smiling.
She was nominated for an Academy Award for Pillow Talk, but should definitely have won one or at least received a nomination for her roles in The Man Who Knew Too Much and Love Me or Leave Me, two films which prove she could act with the best of them.
Between making nearly 40 films she recorded hundreds of songs with arguably one of the best voices of the 20th century and had a successful 5 year television career. How many other 'stars' can boast such accomplishments?
Ms. Day is an absolutely beautiful and immeasurably talented lady, and to top it off dedicates her time to animal rights and welfare with her own animal charity.
Actress, singer, dancer ...more
Truly feminine, the most charming, absolutely mesmerizing - stunningly beautiful and exquisite
This woman is lower than some singers on this list. She's 489. Unacceptable.
Amy Acker deserves an emmy for playing Root in CBS's Person of Interest, which recently just ended. I've never seen such an astounding performance, next to women like Melissa McBride from TWD and Evangeline Lilly from Lost, and Amy Acker's own former co-worker Sarah Shahi who all also deserve to be so much higher on the list than they actually are, but A.A. especially. - Abraxun
Stage presence to live for!
Loved her since she grabbed our hearts in Cinderella. She's such a phenomenon
Great actress in comedies. Too underrated.
She is a really good actress in defendants and liv and maddie
She's one of the best
She was talented, beautiful and starred in so many (some well known) movies, I can't understand why she is always forgotten.
From her uncredited debut in 'Miracle on 34th Street' ('47) to her final role in 'What's so bad about feeling good? ' ('68, less than a year before she died), and in-between great films like 'All about Eve', 'Rear Window', 'Pillow Talk', 'The Misfits', 'Birdman of Alcatraz' and 'How the West was won', to name a few, she was an amazing actress, receiving 6 Oscar nominations as best supporting actress. Deserves more recognition.
Starting her movie-career in 'Citizen Kane', followed by 'The Magnificent Ambersons' (nominated for Oscar and won several awards), she was in hundreds of movies, theater and radio shows, but is probably (sadly) best known as Endora in T.V.-series 'Bewitched' ('64-'72). My favourite is her (again, Oscar-nominated) performance in 'Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte', alongside Bette Davis, Olivia de Havilland, Joseph Cotten, Mary Astor, Bruce Dern, etc.
Loved her in scream queens season 1 ( too bad her character died because I was hoping to see her in season 2. But who knows? The second season is not over yet ). A very talented actress.V 1 Comment
