21 Overkill Overkill Overkill is an American thrash metal band, formed in 1980 in New Jersey. They have gone through many line-up changes, with singer Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth and bassist D.D.

Agreed... I Hear Black gets really dumped on by Overkill fans, but I think it's one of the best albums they ever did and a GREAT groove metal album. Those guys have always had a damn fine power groove.

The Electric Age is one of the best albums I've ever heard.

I hear black is a very Groove oriented album, you really should give it a listen

23 Hellyeah Hellyeah Hellyeah is an American heavy metal supergroup, consisting of Mudvayne vocalist Chad Gray, former Nothingface guitarist Tom Maxwell, bass player Kyle Sanders, guitarist Christian Brady and former Pantera and Damageplan drummer Vinnie Paul.

HellYeah 's Blood For Blood is some of the best I've heard since Pantera's Cowboys From Hell and Vulgar Display Of Power. Chad Gray can scream like no other, and his vocals have grown tremendously since Mudvayne. HellYeah puts on a kick ass live show! They should definitely be in the top 10!

Top 10 in my opinion with vinnie paul's drumming & Mudvayne ex-vocalist grab the microphone - Lsa_Ralte_Lelhchhun

Blood for Blood is out of control. Nothing like Demons in the Dirt. Scratch a lie off Undeniable is also kick ass. They should be top 10. They are my number 1.

I DEFA your defiance, it all lies in Alliance, I've been damaged left in Ruin Clausen I'm Brocken flaw d and just human

Good examples, Hail the apocalypse and let it burn! Keeping it heavy but spot on. Bass and drums to together like two peas in a pod. - Cilverking

Love this crazy freakshow of a band! These guys are badass!

Very exciting visually and musically, definitely worth checking out.
Music is really diverse and extremely good

In my opinion they are the best. Freya and Cloak of Feathers have some very good riffs. They are immensly underrated.

30 Anthrax Anthrax Anthrax is an American thrash metal band from New York City, formed in 1981 by guitarist Scott Ian and bassist Dan Lilker.

Most underrated groovie band ever

34 Soulfly

I am Very surprised of not seeing this band here! Moreover, Sepultura IS here, and Max Cavalera is mentioned too! How could you forget about this band?

This is Soulfly, this is Max Cavalera, the man who started this groove metal stuff and came back after his departure from Sepultura.

Hey, what the hell? How can it be that Soulfly is only at 30th place? Come on, this is Max Cavalera, an inventor of Groove Metal!

How are soulfly not here? Way more groove metal than some other stuff on here

35 Throwdown

I don't know why this band is not in the top 10. Unlike bands like Machine Head, Chimaera or Lamb of god, they play real grove. Without any popular mix-ins, they call Throwdown to be resurrection of pantera. I even love this guys more than pantera, but this my own mind.

That's probably why, by trying so hard to sound like pantera, they ripped them off, and didn't even do a good job of it... I like throwdown, but they deserve a spot sittin outside of #20 definitely

Their album "Venom and tears" sounds just like pantera made a new album. Even the vocals sound the same.
