He is one of the best singers ever, not only in metal music, for me he's even better than dickinson. Incredible voice and so underrated

One of the best singers on this list!

Slave to the grind said it all!

#1 for sure!

66 Benjamin Burnley - Breaking Benjamin Benjamin Burnley - Breaking Benjamin Benjamin Jackson Burnley IV is an American musician, composer, and producer, best known as the founder and frontman of the American rock band Breaking Benjamin.

Although BREAKING BENJAMIN is not a metal band. It is a POST GRUNGE band influenced by alternate metal style, but still BURNLEY has got his own screaming qualities. Excellent musician! The current line up of BB suggests a bag full of good musics.

Best vocal range in the game. Period.

67 Shagrath - Dimmu Borgir, Fimbulwinter, Ov Hell, Chrome

Chris Cornell is a god in the pantheon of singers including Mikael Akerfeldt, Devin Townsend, and many other greats. Honestly I'm still looking for Angela Gassow too, and her replacement is above this comment

Definitely one of the underrated vocalists in this list... - TinU

Nobody tops Cornell, nobody.

70 Steven Tyler - Aerosmith
71 Matt Drake - Evile
72 Frank Mullen Frank Mullen Frank Mullen, is the vocalist of the American death metal band Suffocation, and met band mates Terrance Hobbs and Mike Smith in high school.

Blackie definitively is one of the greatest singers in the history of Metal! His versatile voice is unique. He certainly is one of the most emotional and expressive vocalists of all time.

The best of the best! The king of heavy-metal!

The best there was, the best there is and the best there ever will be!

Damn, he is not my favorite singer, but his voice is awesome, definitely needs to be higher than 82!

A voice that cannot be mistaken and you never get tired of, at least for me

75 Mitch Lucker - Suicide Silence Mitch Lucker - Suicide Silence Mitchell Adam "Mitch" Lucker was an American musician and lead singer for the deathcore band Suicide Silence.

This guy sounded like absolute crap. I'd rather listen to kitchen pots and pans banging together

I don't know what he's doing so far back. He was way better Ivan Moody.

Epic screams, brutal lows, and plenty of heart, disappointed to see him not at least in the top 25.

76 Tim Owens Tim Owens Timothy S. "Ripper" Owens is an American heavy metal singer who first gained attention as the lead singer of Judas Priest, and then Iced Earth. He took the nickname "Ripper" from the Judas Priest song "The Ripper" during his time in the tribute band "British Steel". He currently performs with Beyond more.

When it comes to sing EVERY genre of metal, Tim's humongous range and technique takes the "Metal Vocalist" concept to a whole new level. Not My Favourite metal singer, but I must admit that regarding versatility, power, quality and technique combined, Tim is as good as it gets.

Best metal voice ever! He can really catch very high vocal notes... he has never wronged any song he expect to sing from any band he played! If you don't believe me just hear he's covers at Judas Priest - Diamonds and Rust and Iced Earth - Prophecy

Underrated, mostly because for a while he was stuck replacing beloved vocalists from Judas Priest and Iced Earth. Still, he puts on a hell of a performance. Listen to Judas Priest's "Cathedral Spires", for example.

There is a lot of people out there who have obviously no clue... THE Ripper only at 95? Are you all insane! That man can sing like no other and at times he even puts the Metal God to shame!

77 Danny Worsnop - Asking Alexandria

He should be in top 10

79 Johan Hegg - Amon Amarth Johan Hegg - Amon Amarth

He has a really genuine sound to him. A lot of Amon's songs can send shivers down my spine and tears to my eyes, especially their live versions. I saw them live last October near Detroit.

Look up their live performance of "Thousand Years of Oppression" on YouTube and you will hear exactly what I am talking about.

One of the smoothest voices in melodic death metal

The best and most recognizable voice in melodeath

80 Layne Staley Layne Staley Layne Thomas Staley was an American musician who served as the lead singer and co-songwriter of the rock band Alice in Chains, which he founded with guitarist Jerry Cantrell in Seattle, Washington in 1987. Alice in Chains rose to international fame as part of the grunge movement of the early 1990s. more.

We're talking about the best singer in metal a rock not the best band even though I think Alice in Chains is one of the best. This list/world has no hope I've lost faith in humanity, I feel like committing suicide. 83! really this is pathetic he's the only singer I've ever found that actually has soul, real soul- not just a great voice..

Best vocalist in my opinion. Layne could take something very dark and sad and make it one of the most beautiful things you ever heard. RIP

Layne had an amazing range the guitar vocal duo in man in the box, the chorus of bleed the freak, and nutshell all prove how amazing his voice is. Truly the greatest
THe only metal I don't like is hair metal. and out of every genre listen to (Death metal, Black metal, Doom metal, Grunge, Heavy metal. Layne is the best vocalist I've found

The king of raw vocal power.
