Best Once Upon a Time Characters
Regina, out of everyone, has had the most significant and touching journey during the course of the show. She was corrupted by dark magic at a very vulnerable stage in her life which almost destroyed her completely, but her love for her son brought her back. She fought relentlessly for years to find her happiness wiith all the odds stacked against her and got her happy ending. I have so much respect for Regina and immense gratitude to Lana Parrilla for giving this beautiful character to us.
She's strong, tough, and she proves that everyone deserves a 2nd chance. She was evil, but she changed for good. She is smart, too. She would risk anything for her friends -- she's always there for them. Even though she is no longer evil, it doesn't mean she isn't a tough. She is so amazing for many more reasons. Regina is the best character and nobody messes with her. Rumpelstiltskin has betrayed every character so many times. This is why she's my favorite.
She's powerful and nobody should mess with her. Regina has had it bad from the start everybody should feel bad for her because for one she stared out as a nice character but her mother had to come in and mess it all up by killing the one person she loves and setting her on a evil path. Second, in story brook even when she wanted to change and did a good job of it everyone shut her out I mean come on all she wants is her sun.
She's a deep and honorable with such emotional depth. her backstory is superb and even when she is the bad guy it's hard to hate her. I absolutely love how she wants revenge but then becomes friends with her enemies. She shows the world true happiness and forgiveness. If regina left the show I would stop watching. If snow white left I would binge it because of how much better it got. Long live regina
He is completely misunderstood. Bell is the only one he gets him. Okay, so from the beginning. He became the dark one to stop a horrible war and save his son. He never meant to let his son go and he spent around 200 years trying to get him back. That's a long time, he cared a lot. He might have done some bad things but he was trying to get back to his son. When he meets Bell he loves her so much, even if he messed up by making her leave. But, that's the thing, for someone to be my favorite character, and I thinks it's the same for a lot of people, based on the first three. They have to do some bad things. A character who is good at heart but does some bad things makes their character deep, and makes them awesome. That's why I hate Neal/ Baelfire, even though Rumpelstiltskin spent about 200 years looking for him, he couldn't forgive him. Even if he was just a villain( which he's not) with no good heart, he is would still awesome because he is funny, so manipulative and great with ...more
First of all he's played by Scottish legend Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting, The Full Monty) His character from the beginning has been the most nuanced, complex, morally grey character to ever grace my T.V./ computer screen. Recently however Rumplestiltskin has been at the brunt of a viscous hate campaign by the very writers who created him! The show runners have deliberately been sabotaging his character lately to prop up bland fan favorites the Evil Queen and Captain Hook. It started with killing his son; his whole motivation for the curse and everything he did as The Dark One. They completely negated his beautiful redemption arc by bringing him back to life, then subjecting him to torture, pain, and rejection, over and over. The writers have ruined a character that Robert worked hard (and still works hard) to be three demensional by painting him in the most unsympathetic light possible. All this because they wanted the young teen demographic to drool over Hook and woobify Regina.
First of all, how do you NOT love any character played by Robert Carlyle. Secondly, his character had so much depth during the first three seasons and even though he's done horrible things, he spent 200 years trying to look for his son and everything he did was for his son. But, at the end of season 3 his son got killed and it went downhill from there. Third, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE his contrast between enchanted forest rumplestiltskin and storybrooke mr gold. Like, it is absolutely perfect and I LOVE seeing the sarcastic and funny rumplestiltskin, as well as his cool, laid back counterpart in storybrooke. Also, the way he says "dearie" is HILARIOUS.
I love this guy! he's the most powerful character in the whole show (still alive that is because of hades and I'm not counting zeus because it was less than a minute of screen time) he's the funniest and the smartest. His style is classy as all hell, and his personality and attitude are just amazing! Also love Robert Carlyle. And its true what he says in season 4, he always wins. In the end, I dare anyone to say in any instance where rumple did not win.
I really liked him in season 2 and even season 3. But after that he became more or less a lapdog puppy totally infatuated with Emma Swan. Which I find very strange because he used to be a really witty and layered character. Now he is just twisting himself into bizar situations in which he must and shall proof himself to be worthy to Emma Swan by being good. Captain Hook shouldn't care how he is labelled. He is a bloody rapscallion pirate and he only cares about living life and living by his code. That's all.
Roast me, but he's so overrated in my opinion. He was pretty cool in the second season, then when they tried to redeem him, he became a boring lovesick teenager. His backstory felt incredibly forced to make him a good guy but it was very cliche just made him look more like a jerk. I hate how even after Emma told him their first kiss was a one-time thing he continued to pursue her and practically won her a prize for trading his ship. Season 5 was practically "Once Upon a Hook".
Well, Hook is the best character to have ever existed on Once Upon a Time, but I disagree with that first paragraph. As much as I loved him in seasons two and three, I loved him even more since he began dating Emma Swan and redeeming himself. He and Emma bring out the best in each other. Along with Regina and Snowing, in my opinion, they are the reason why this show is so good.
I like Captain Hook. He may not be like my favourite villain, but he's still a pretty good character. His backstory is intriguing and how he turns from a selfish wife-stealing monster to a caring family man is interesting. I am still not a Captain Swan shipper, but I really do like Hook.
How is she not above rumple? She is perfect in an imperfect way. She has many flaws and has gone through many hardships, but is still very heroic, but not in a Mary-sue type way. She resisted darkness, where all rumple ever does is go back and forth between being good or evil, claiming love for one of his sons or belle. Clearly he doesn't care enough about them to turn good. Also he doesn't have any development in character, he just randomly is good or evil for an episode, before he is on team good guy for the last episode.
Emma Swan is by far the best character I've ever encountered. She's a real badass, but she's also relatable in so many ways. She's so nicely developed and Jennifer Morrison does a wonderful job portraying her. Of course Emma Swan the savior is great. Of course she's awesome being all fearless and dauntless and stuff. But what is even more beautiful is the way she puts on walls, and how broken she is. Emma Swan is a masterpiece.
She's the one character in the show that has it the worst and like all of her boyfriends have died and she b came the dark one at one point, she has to take care of Henry and be the savior so if you ask me that girl has it tough and nobody realizes it. P.S she's also like the star of the show.
Emma Swan obviously has to be a strong character with a great background and character development, she is the main character. But also her sarcasm and overall badass is just literally perfect. Jennifer Morrison does an amazing job portraying her character, the Savior.
Ruby was one of my favorites since the beginning, she has a heartbreaking back story. But she is a strong female character that is absolutely gorgeous.
Beautiful chemistry between her and Dorothy, as well as the fact that she is layered and deep. Ruby will always be a favorite in my book.
Not only is she Red Riding Hood, but the Big Bad Wolf, too! She's so sweet and pretty!
Red is such an awesome and strong character, I love the twist in the story!
She's both strong-willed and compassionate, motivated towards goodness but still able to see light in characters like Rumple. I love the fact that she's not just a beautiful woman there to give the bad guy a love interest but a well rounded character, intelligent and independent, and not afraid to do what's right.
She's beautiful, clever, feminist and can forgive and forget easily. She has faith in everyone and wants to see the best in everyone no matter the circumstances. She forgives Regina even after Regina went all mother gothel on her for 28 years. And she has a killer wardrobe
It's amazing how she could love Rumplestiltskin even after all he's done. I love how she sees the light in everyone and always is the better woman. She never wants revenge, but she still knows how to stand up for herself. Plus, she's gorgeous and really smart.
Sorry but after you pushed rumple over the line, you are not even in my top 100 goodbye
Peter Pan is my favourite Once Upon a Time character for many reasons. I'm really upset that he died, really quickly as well, he basically got killed twice once in season three and once in season 5 (he didn't technically die in season 5 but went to the river of lost souls) *SPOILER ALERT* Originally Peter Pan was a villain and Captain Hook wasn't in the story but instead they made Captain Hook the villain and Peter a hero, so I really like how they made him in the show. LONG LIVE THE NEVERLAND KING. "There are no kings in Neverland, just me. I'm Peter. Peter Pan."
Definitely the best character and villain on Once Upon a Time. He kept Wendy in order to make John and Michael (her brothers) do his bidding.Spoiler alert. He tricked Greg and Tamara into doing his work. He also took Henry's heart in order to make sure that the magic of Neverland does not run out. He also used his Lost Boys to attempt king the team after they cheated by using the map Pan had given to them and using a locator spell. The boy's arrows were laced with Dreamshade and it wounded David. Rumpelstiltskin had to sacrifice himself to defeat Pan (Even though he was revived due to Baelfire's sacrifice). Even though some people say Zelena killed Baelfire I think it was really Pan since it was because of defeating him that only one was able to survive. If you think about it, Pan was the only villain who needed a sacrifice in order to die and he was the toughest villain to beat.
I loved Peter Pan on the show. It was nice to see a iconic character such as him be twisted and become evil. Pan was one of the only villains I found was pure evil and not had a good reason for being so, which is what I liked about him. Robbie played him so well, he is my favourite character for sure.
He is psychotic, ruthless and an even worse villain than Hook ever was in any of the stories and also the only villain with no motivation to being evil. He just wants to cause chaos for the sake of chaos. He is also hot!
David/ Prince Charming makes the perfect ship when put up next to Snow White/Mary Margaret. He, like Snow, wants to do anything to protect him family, but tries to go about the right way of doing it. He is courageous, and may I mention...hot!
He's a usurper. Plus, I'll never forget what he did to Mary Margeret when he was David, leading her on, cheating on his wife with her and having the audacity to say he has feelings for both of them so that it's ok to cheat, not believing her when she was accused of killing Katheryn.
I really don't like him. Always trying to act like a hero but in fact he seems just stupid and childish to me.
He sucks at playing hero. He acts like a 5 year old in a grown mans body.
I really loved in Season 1 and Season 2. He thought for everything. The only thing I want to know is how exactly he left storybrooke, that in flashback would have been a cool episode, like the flashback in Save Henry where he got the book and how he just to battle with the idea that his mum didn't want him, but thought his faith and illegents he brings Emma to Storybrooke and tells her he understands that she gave him up because she wanted to give him his best chance. And in Season 2, he told Gold that his son might understand why he gave him away, and it was really cute when he had the hot-dog. Honesty they just to be so many cute Henry Scence, like in the Name of the Brother, Henry has a horse, but later in disappears, and I was like ' wow' Henry has a horse, but when Henry meets Vilot he doesn't seem sure about her horse, like what?
Henry mills was the reason Emma came to town and saved them all. He fought and is pretty brave in most of the show. He can be a real cutie when he wants to be and he will always be my favorite character
It's good to have some younger characters in shows and he fits that role perfectly
Henry has not much space there, but thought he is great. Little Hero!
Everybody loves him. Is death was sad but not as much as what people say. He was a nice character but I think Neal and Killian are hotter. #SorryNotSorry
By far the best character, actually wanted to cry when he died
I felt awful for him when he died! It was sad because Emma was finally opening up to him, and then he died. :(
I don't really like her, you know that face you make when you realize your parents sacrificed a kid to make sure you were obedient. She actually did that!
Okay, Snow White/ Mary Margaret is my absolute favorite and always will be. She is the fairest of them all, obviously. I love her relationship with Charming and Emma, and she would die to protect her family.
I hate her. She always acts so innocent like "what could I ever do? " but then never faces up to it when she does anything.
Snow white ain't no woman that's a damn man and I hope the snowman dies! When it happens it will be my favorite episode!
Sebastian Stan is my all time favourite actor. He's been amazing in everything I've seen him in (most of his rolls) and I think that he played Jefferson perfectly. You can feel the pain he feels and see the pain in his eyes. I think the thing that made Jefferson the perfect character was how he says he's not crazy until the end where he freaks when Emma and Snow escape. It shows us how easily some metal patients can act. Perfectly calm at one moment and out the next. They need to bring Jefferson back. Plus Sebastian is an adorable puppy and everyone loves puppies.
He was all right because all he was trying to do was get his daughter back since he loved her so much.
His insanity is what makes him awesome, and his love for his daughter Grace.
Come on he is hot and cute! How could you not like him?
Baelfire: "They made a movie about you. It's actually pretty good."
Mulan: "What's a movie? "
Seriously, if only she did know how much of a badass she really is! She is a determined warrior and does whatever needs to be done. I felt so sorry for her when she was heartbroken over Aurora revealing she was pregnant. Poor Mulan, not being able to tell her how she felt about her. Then when we thought she would have a happy ending with Ruby, Ruby ends up with Dorothy instead. Mulan stood there just chillin' while she is the series first lesbian character. GIVE HER A TRUE LOVE ALREADY! SHE DESERVES IT!
The part where it was revealed that she is in love with Aurora shocks me. It broke my heart when I saw the heartbroken look on her face when Aurora told her that she is pregnant, I loved her right there!
I love the character of Mulan!
She's so underrated.
I loved her in season one because that's when she tried to do her best to get rid of Emma, it was so awesome and sweet at the same time because she was trying to keep Emma from her son, who she cared about so much, and thanks to Cora, Regina was not able to have kids, which is why this is so sweet. It's awesome because I love when Regina goes all dark because she is so cool when she does, you can see how much she doesn't care. It shows that she would do anything to get what she wants, it shows how much effort she puts into what she wants.
In season one, I really didn't like Regina all that much. Then I saw her episode with Daniel. My heart broke. Plus, she's much prettier than Snow could ever dream to be. She's had to go through so much, and she's stayed strong the whole time. Even if she did stray to the dark side, she's still in actuality just a broken teenage girl who lost the love of her life.
The Evil Queen is the, by far, best character in OUAT! I sobbed when Robin died. But I LOVE when Regina and Evil Queen became two different people! Long live The Evil Queen!
The Evil Queen is interesting but I think that being good is a better path for her. If she does go evil again then she will lose Henry forever
I seriously loved her. She reminds me of myself sometimes. I tend to get envious most of the time. I also felt extremely sorry for her. She was abandoned by her mother, where she was raised by an abusive 'father' who didn't even want her, then ends up being bullied by Regina endlessly. Of course, Regina and Zelena eventually make up and finally become sisters, but Regina still acts like the overprotective sister and even blames Zelena for the death of Robin Hood, even after when she saved her life from Hades! Seriously, she is such an iconic character. I love her when she's an antihero. She's just saving the day but desperately wants to use dark magic and be mischief while doing so, but I also adored her wickedness! She was having fun using her powers, and she enslaved Rumplestiltskin, something that not even Cora was able to do! Let's not forget about the part where she hid right under our noses as Marian just to get pregnant with Regina's true love to ruin her happy ending.
Zelena is absolutely the best character on the show! She is so well written, and the first villain who I genuinely love, not love to hate. I feel so bad for her, Regina is such a hypocrite for preaching all this "everyone gets a happy ending" stuff yet not letting her sister have a chance at it!
Zelena is one of my favorite characters in once! She's so well at making everyone think she's sad, happy, angry, And I just really love her WICKED personality!
She is one of the best characters with her powerful magic and strong ambition. In my opinion, she was the highlight of season 3.
I hate him, when he abandoned Emma he immediately moved on like he never new her. And he didn't have abandon her either if he just told her the truth!
Kind brave strong vulnerable and complex. An amazing relatable character since young till becoming Neil Cassidy.
Yes! He is one of my favorite characters. After all the ships/romances Emma has gone through, he is my favorite.
Neal is so good it was so sad when gophers died I wish Emma and Neal got back together
He character on once was well written and had great chemistry with the cast especially with Emma & Regina.
My favorite character in Once Upon a Time!
I really loved him. Back in Season 1, I hoped he and Emma would get together and be Henry dad.
1. He is only seven years older than Emma.
2. He stopped Emma from being a crimical and made both Neal and Emma better people.
3. He challenges Emma's presisidance on the world.
4. He is mysterious.
5. He is smart and as funny as heck.
5. He travelled the world (Sorta like Henry in S7.)
4. He rides a motorbike (Like Henry in S7)
5. He is an author (Like Henry in S5)
6. He came to Storybrooke to help Emma and Henry.
7. He inventinton and creative.
8. He just to be very mischievish.
9. He is fresh and upbeat.
10. He is knows to start ahead in the game, eg. Mr. Gold believed he was son for a beif period of time, and while his plan didn't work in the end, he had a good run at it.
I absolutely loved this guy and was really upset when he died. Always hoped that Emma and August would become a couple
He's cool and I love how he got his happy ending by turning back into a boy.
Of all the villians portrayed thus far, she is the ONLY one who doesn't have a motive to become evil. It's clearly stated that she was a troubled child. She poisoned her own father and both of her mothers follow up husbands. for no given specific reason. She was born a true sociopath, she takes the things you love and destroys them. She watched her own mother get ripped apart by dogs, and then killed them also. The only thing she wanted from The Author was what he took from her... The ability to kill again. She is a TRUE villain in this series so, in conclusion, she deserves the Evilest villain award.
Haha Cruella's a badass! I love the way she punched Emma for killing her lol
It is SO obvious that Anna is better than Elsa
I love Anna I hate Elsa
(! ) SPOILERS(! ) Robin Hood was one of my favorite characters, sooo sad he died though, he was perfect for Regina
Tinkerbelle is a really orginal character with in the show. She not my ' All time Favourite' but I think that someone should aknowledge her and no body has. Therefore I would like to point out the amaziness of Tinkerbelle. She is VERY Different from her Disney Version ( see profile picture) in that movie series; ' Disney Fairies Fanchieses' she is a tinker fairy ( To tinker - to mend) and the Belle ( a shiny object) but in Once Upon A Time she is a Tink ( meaning to meddle in love) and a Belle ( Beautiful.) and her backstory ( let face it Steathly does quite match up to the backstory Tinkerbelle gets, and Dreamy/Grumpy and Nova ( cool esposide) but singular not reappearing, same with Tiny ( a Tiny gaint - I heard it a millon times) sorry I still like Tiny and Dreamy ( Heard it a million times love between two spieces.) Airel was find ( by more Disney sterotypival - I dsaw a guty and fell in love with him - plus Airel and Snow relationship was a watered down Snow and Red) Therefore ...more
I love Lily because she is the daughter of Maleficent. I like that because it means that the generation of dragons is not over.
It's not fair. She never ever even deserves to die and neither does nor did Helga. Neither does Gerda. Let's face it. Ingrid would've been there to meet her equally empowered niece, Elsa during Elsa's childbirth the same way Helga would've been there to meet her other niece, Anna during Anna's childbirth too if those stupid, idiotic, idiot writers of Once Upon A Time hadn't killed Helga off nor put Ingrid in that Urn back then before.
Her death is the saddest one by far. Agh!
