Top Ten Most Overhyped Video Games of 2018
These games got too much attention in 2018 than they deserve.Keep in mind, these games don't have to necessarily come out in 2018, they just have to be very overhyped and they receive a lot more attention than they actually deserve. So let us proceed with the list.

THANK YOU! Random internet strangers for helping expose the fact that Fortnite sucks. Not the worst game I've played but definitely undeserving of its popularity! Everyday in school I hear some sort of conversation about Fortnite and I am sick of it! Boring environments, a crippling camera, a large amount of luck, hitbox issues, and generally unstrategic and bland gameplay. Strike this game down with your metal brandishes PUBG fans! (And not-PUBG fans too) I can list hundreds of better games than this but yet people it like a god!? And I'm just, "Do you have a brain!? ". And actually, South Korean (the nation of PUBG's property holders) law dictates that Fortnite is actually guilty of copyright infringement. And, get off my page Fortnite advert that is just Fortnite on a blue background!
I guess it's decent. But really people only play this game because it's free. This game would have been dead AGES ago if it wasn't free. It's just Minecraft Hunger Games with guns and realistic graphics, how is it game of the year? It's super repetitive, the fan base is TERRIBLE, Ninja is a horrible influence on children, it's insanely rng based, it's unbalanced, you have to pay in order to get good skins, and overall it's just a broken mess.
Now, I don't think Fortnite is terrible, but it's far from the amazing game people make it out to be.

You know it's going to be an authentic WWII experience when there's female British soldiers with prosthetics on the front line. And add some crippled black lesbian Soviet soldier into the mix perhaps. Battlefield 1 was good and there's no way I'm going to buy this.
This game lost it's touch, man.
It's not that bad, but still, really EA? A battle royale mode included for $60 with extra DLC? Yum, yum, yum!
Everyone called Call of Duty ww2 a ripoff of battlefield 1 yet no one cares that this is just Call of Duty ww2 with vehicles!

I don't know about you guys, but this is probably the 3rd WORST game in Fifa's history. I was really hyped about the Journey Champions (which is a piece of trash) and Fifa 19's career mode including the Champions League, Europa League etc. When it came out, I was absolutely disappointed. The passing is just as bad as the goalkeepers in this game, bicycle and scissor kicks are overpowered in career mode and you can score more goals from corners than a one on one. I will get Fifa 20 ONLY to see what would happen after the Journey. Fifa 19 is by far one of the worst games of 2018.
Adding a nine to replace the eight every year doesn't make the game different. Personally, I found even Fifa 11 on the DS more fun than this game by the ability to play it on the go on one of my favourite video game consoles period.
Another installment was never needed, due to the hight amounts of microtransactions, payments and DLCs released in the past few years. However, since EA and their businessmen obviously want more money, we'll have to suffer until they break down to dreg.

Another battle royale game with the name "Call of Duty" slapped on it. I swear, if the next DOOM game or the long awaited Half-Life 3 is going to be a battle royale game then I'm going to pull the trigger.
All my friends play this crap now. I have nothing to do but to jump into the wagon.
Let's be real, all Call of Duty games are overhyped.
People just don't shut up about this game.
Every Youtube video or website or forum I go to there's always a group of people or a single person talking about this game.
I've seen less people talking about Fortnite and Battlefield V.
Maybe it's just that I find Smash to be an overrated video game series, but what makes Daisy worthy being in Smash and Waluigi not?
This is about as overhyped as Fortnite is. And I actually like this and Fortnite.

Just Cause 4 just seems like another open world sandbox to me...and even then the sandbox itself isn't that interesting by the looks of it.

It's a good game but...

From watching gameplay, I don't really think there's a lot to it. I wouldn't spend 60 bucks on it.
What's the hype about the Tennis exclusive again?
It seems like it will be good but then again this is what Ultra Smash should have been

Really good, But missed a lot of things, There were a lot of Easter eggs that were good, but the villains weren't that great, I never knew why Doc Ock was so mad

How can something we expect to be terrible be overhype in anyway?
That was released only in 2018? Feels like a 2017 game to me.
It's Metal Gear Survive, I don't think I have to say anything else

It's more or less another fighting game in my eyes and I'm not too interested in Dragon Ball - I'm not sure what everybody is buzzing about.
Seeing its Anime you are somebody who is a fan of fighting games, or your not it cannot be in between in this case.

Not sure why it's on the list it lived up to the hype really great

I agree with NotAWeaboo, the only reason I know about this game is from when Jacksepticeye played it. I've never heard anything about it since.

Everyone one are going like "IT SAVED MARIO PARTY", No it didn't, it's called improved, and I'm sure the fans will find ways to bash this game too later on, don't believe me? Four words, Mario Party: Star Rush, a game trying to please fans because they weren't happy with 9 and 10, but it got hate, because?
I would love to have this game, It our family had a Nintendo Switch.

I thought it was really overrated, the story was pretty mediocre in my opinion

I think it's a good game
Never heard of it... can't see how this is overhype, but could make for a good Halloween episode based on the terrible scores given.

All these lego games are the same controls and gameplay and story for 59.99, I just don't get why people would spend 60 dollars on a lego game instead of god of war or red dead 2
