Top 10 Worst Water Levels in Video Games
Why is this even on this list. Using the Zora mask makes Young Link a fantastic swimmer. He can also attack with his fins for a large distance. What was the point?
This dam level... hehehe. But whatever, allow me to describe from what I've seen on the internet:
Tight time limit to defuse multiple bombs
Electric obstacles everywhere
Wonky controls
Slow swimming
That seaweed. Dam. Dam it's hard.
Definitely the worst ever temple of all-time. In order to swim underwater, uses the Iron Boots. In order to go back up, remove the Iron Boots, and goes vice versa.
Instant letdown with all the unfair platforming to the grand finally of disappointment.
I really hated that stupid Big Fish that would try and eat Mario and 1 hit KO him!
I love Pac-Man World 2, but this level is very tedious! It's basically just Pac-Man sitting in a Submarine going through a dark green void, through some Pipes, some enemies, and some fruit over and over for at least 8 whole minutes, and it get's super repetitive!
It's clear that this area was extremely rushed on deairing it's development. Not only does it reuse the forest stage from way earlier in the game even though Galados is meant to be a beach area, but it has enemies that are WAY TOO OP and they fit with neither a beach or a forest! Like, why does this island have Big Noses with Glasses, Giant UFOs, and a Red Fire Breathing Dragon?!?
In Japan, people consider four synonymous with death, and is the case in level 4, the Labyrinth Zone in Sonic the Hedgehog because this is where all the fun of the game goes to die. You move slowly in the water and Sonic can hold is breath for only so long, meaning you have to find air supply bubbles to reset the timer or get out of the water before he drowns. If you're looking for grounds for preferring Mario games over Sonic games, how their water levels played is more than enough.
Without question, this is the worst Sonic level/water level in the history of gaming. Act 1 and 2 are easy in my opinion, but then there's Act 3! This act sucks so much because of all the super tedious traps and Sonic. He can't swim, so he moves really, really slowly, and it messes with the best mechanic. Also, the very bad drowning mechanics + very irritating drowning music equals a cheap challenge. But wait, there's more. Because the level is like a maze, you will have so much trouble navigating that it becomes 2x the chore to beat and still manages to get worse. The beginning of Act 3 is such a super mega tedium jump. All this trouble leads up to the hardest boss in the game. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!
If you don't know the horrors of this water level why are you on this list
It's dark and dank as hell, the music gives you the heebie jeebies, you can only bring blue pikmin in (despite having all four elemental traps), the treasures are next to worthless, and there's the Waterwraith. Unlike the rest of the bosses that stay on the final floor, this monster will appear on your current floor if you stay there too long. He's immune to almost all attacks and he can steam roll even a full squad of 100 pikmin if given the chance. Until you successfully kill him on the final floor, he will continue to hunt you down.
You know what part this is the part where you have to change the battery constantly, you know, that part in Bat's Tower
This is my fourth worst water level between Great Bay Temple, THAT DAMN DAM LEVEL and 'shudders' labyrinth zone. first, this is an auto scroll level second, blooper nannies, AND THE SWARM OF JELECTROS, well what if this was combined with 'shudders' labyrinth zone. so in conclusion this is hard water level. P.S pipe maze level 4 + labyrinth zone = torture
Constantly going for air
