Top Ten Greatest Guitar Duos

The Contenders: Page 2

21 Kerry King & Jeff Hanneman (Slayer)

to me, Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King is the best duo ever from the best band ever, and although I know not everyone agrees with me, it must at least be acknowledged that they belong at least in the top 5

Both guitarists are at least between top 10 guitarists in the world - just listen to their playing - who can repeat their songs!?

This duo can demolish with their guitars. Best thrash duo. - Dibildox

Easily the best out there! - AngryByrd

23 Ace Freely & Paul Stanley (KISS)
24 Marty Friedman & Jason Becker (Cacophony) Marty Friedman & Jason Becker (Cacophony) Martin Adam "Marty" Friedman is an American guitarist, known for his tenure as the lead guitarist for heavy metal band Megadeth which spanned nearly the full decade of the 1990s, as well as Cacophony alongside Jason Becker until 1989. Friedman has resided in Tokyo, Japan since 2003, where he has hosted more.

I don't understand why this duo ain't here.
Just listen to Speed Metal Symphony and it will make my point clear!

25 Brad Delson & Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park)

26 Mike McCready & Stone Gossard (Pearl Jam)
27 Danny Kirwan & Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac)

Two blues masters playing with a legendary rock band. Songs like "Albatross", "Oh Well" and of course "Black Magic Woman"!

28 Jay Jay French & Eddie Ojeda (Twisted Sister)
29 Rudolf Schenker & Mathias Jabs (Scorpions)
30 Nick Valensi & Albert Hammond, Jr. (The Strokes)

At their best, these guys pack a great one-two punch of ridiculously fast rhythm guitar (Albert) and smooth, catchy solos (Nick), although they occasionally switch it up, and have Albert deliver dizzying solos on songs like "Last Nite", "Vision of Division", and "One Way Trigger".

31 Hizaki & Teru (Versailles - Philharmonic Quintet)

The Sync of these pair is unbelivable, amazing! Check for Silent Knight, this song shows the true accuracy in a LIVE concert, someday this band will conquest the world, now listen the song of the new album Holy Grail called Faith and Decision.

One of the most amazing duo I ever seen, beautiful solos as hell! talented, wonderful synchronization. Album after album they improve their skills and makes your heart feel with their music.

The most talented, natural I have ever come across and hell do they have beautiful solo's. Soon I hope to see them in the biggest stadiums where they deserve to be.

Most talented and they create make the best melodic solos. Versailles are a new band and as everyone says - "they will be the next biggest symphonic metal band. " Trust me. - Taloper

38 Matt Tuck & Michael Padge Paget (Bullet for My Valentine)

Umm these two are awesome they should be all the way at the top in the top 3.

39 Steve Vai & Joe Satriani
40 Peter Koppes and Marty Willson-Piper (The Church)

Suppose I shouldn't be surprised these guys aren't already on the list, they've been under-heard and under-appreciated for 30 years. These guys do the psychedelic rock thing better than anyone. Check out "Destination" for proof. The Church are the greatest band to ever come out of Australia.

I've loved the special and unique merging of Marty and Peter's playing styles since I was a teenager - it's become a lifelong pleasure listening to The Church's music. There's nothing like it anywhere, and helped me become a huge fan of other Australian bands!
