Top 10 Worst Things that Happened in 2021

The Top Ten
  1. Trump Supporters Invade Capitol Hill

They invaded Capitol Hill to protest a joint session that was supposed to count the electoral votes, which they wanted to overturn for whatever reason. No evidence of widespread voter fraud was presented by the Justice Department and the courts. Rudy and Trump did a rally that morning and encouraged them to fight hard like never before, which made them even angrier, and a few of them committed acts of violence.

The House Republicans voting to object to the electoral votes have nothing to show, with nearly two-thirds of them voting to object, and way less than a quarter of Senate Republicans voting to object to the electoral college results. They've done this for a show, and every single person who enabled this event should be held accountable.

  2. COVID Resurgence in Some Countries

  3. Afghanistan Falls to the Taliban

The way this whole thing went down was horrific. Many of our people in Afghanistan have either been killed or are still trapped there, being held hostage in horrible conditions. Not to mention, a lot of powerful weapons were left behind that these awful terrorists can now use against us. What kind of a potato head President thinks this is a good way to execute an evacuation? I swear Joe Biden has lost his mind.

This is literally miles worse than what happened on January 6th. Say what you want, but thousands of people were murdered by the Taliban in the process, and now Afghanistan is once again a hardcore totalitarian Islamist state. The last time that happened, they housed Bin Laden, and he planned and carried out 9/11 in the safety of Afghanistan. They also started the opium trade. This was probably the worst event of the year.

  4. Joe Biden Becomes U.S. President

What an absolute disgrace. A spineless worm who's too afraid to put the pants on and take the country by the reins. He's done nothing but spend money to "build" infrastructure and promote hate towards innocent people in society. I won't be surprised if he leaves office so Harris can take his place and further destroy this once-amazing country.

Thanks, Biden. Now I have to spend the little money I have on gas because you decided that the XL Pipeline had to be shut down. Don't forget there are other things I (and we) need to pay for: electricity, work, child's needs (if you have kids), food, water, clothes, the list goes on.

  5. Wildfire in Niagara Falls

  6. North Korea Threatens to Build More Nukes and Calls the U.S. Their Biggest Enemy

I hope that's not true because after all of those peace talks and summits in 2018 and 2019, they did all of that for nothing. In 2018, the North Korean leader and South Korean president crossed the DMZ, climbed Mt. Paektu together, and made a joint bid to host the 2032 Summer Olympics. Donald Trump also crossed the DMZ, making him the first president to do so. The South Korean president even went to Pyongyang and got a warm welcome from North Koreans and the leader and invited the North Korean leader to Seoul. Donald Trump even invited the North Korean leader to Washington, D.C.

I hope North Korea is not going back to their old ways because Joe Biden's going to be president now. I hope Joe Biden will help make the peace talks continue.

  7. 2021 Israel-Palestine Crisis

Unlike many people on this website, I don't think that we should blame this on Israel because of three important factors.

Number one, Palestine initiated the attack. Number two, when Israel was going to bomb a building, they sent notes in advance to tell the people in the buildings to evacuate. Number three, the only reason Israel bombs schools or hospitals is because that is where the Palestinian terrorists set up the bombs.

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict that's been raging on for over 50 years continues. What makes it worse is how many civilians are getting caught in the crossfire. These are crimes against humanity, no doubt about it.

  8. Texas Power Grid Failure

In a winter storm that occurred in Texas, hundreds of thousands of households didn't have electricity. Many of them are freezing to death. This is what happens when America has brittle infrastructure. Frozen wind turbines aren't the main culprit for Texas' power outages. Every resource used, from nuclear to coal to solar, played a part.

The government is playing with its own citizens.

I remember hearing about this when it happened. I remember it postponed four Dallas Stars games.

  9. Jan. 1 Southeast Columbus Shooting

  10. Overflow of Migrant Facilities at the U.S./Mexico Border

Biden opened the borders, okay, but let's look at the current state of affairs. Migrants are being sent in droves, then packed into facilities, often in close quarters during a pandemic. There is a 100% guarantee some COVID-positive people are in those groups, bringing the sickness into these facilities. It's also likely that some are starving there.

You would think these immigrants would be legally and safely documented into this country, but apparently not. When some senators decide to journey to the border to see what's going on, they are being blocked by some White House staffers. The Biden administration needs to be under investigation as we really don't know what's going on.

Anyone can see this is not a Trump thing. He's been gone for two months now. It's a Biden thing. Two full months into Biden's presidency and this is outright indefensible. Hopefully, he can take action now, and I mean now, not whatever the liberals think is "now" because we all know they bend the straws too far. I mean now.

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

    Death of Betty White

The world's longest-serving star, who spent over 7.5 decades on screen and was known for The Golden Girls, just passed away on New Year's Eve, less than 18 days before turning 100.

She was the most trusted star in American history as well as the most enduring actress and celebrity. She was also the first person to host a talk show solo and was the oldest SNL performer of all time (at 88).

This is a bigger loss than any other elder person in known world history. The star who was about to turn 100 didn't make it. That must make her the world's unluckiest member of the elder community. Nobody will EVER compete with Betty.

R.I.P. to the queen of TV (1922-2021).

  13. ?

    Rascal Flatts Disbands

They were supposed to continue a farewell tour into 2022, but it was canceled due to COVID-19. They eventually announced their retirement as a band in October.

They were the G.O.A.T. band of country music and were known for songs such as What Hurts the Most and their cover of Tom Cochrane's Life is a Highway (for Disney Pixar's Cars). No proper farewell tour, just a quick announcement.

  14. The Contenders
  15. Adobe Flash Player Shuts Down

Now my childhood's ruined. This messed up all of my favorite websites!

  16. 2021 Myanmar Coup D'état

  17. Hurricane Ida

The U.S. Capitol riots, Joe Biden becoming U.S. President, cancel culture, the COVID-19 variants, the deaths of iconic celebrities, the shootings of more Black people, the Israel crisis, the wildfires in Turkey and the U.S., the earthquake in Haiti, the Taliban attack on Kabul, Afghanistan, and now Hurricane Ida. 2021 is finishing off with another major disaster.

It hit Louisiana as a Category 4 hurricane 16 years after Hurricane Katrina did in 2005, and lots of flooding and damage occurred. All of New Orleans went without power and clean water, yet it hit New Jersey and New York with flash flooding from torrential rains, flooding the places at record-breaking levels. So far, 66 people were known to be killed.

Who knew 2021 would be a deadlier year to the human race for any reason than 2020? Who knows when Louisiana will get hit again by another major hurricane in the future, but at least people knew and remembered Katrina before and learned and evacuated New Orleans ahead of time. New Jersey and New York weren't prepared for what its remnants would deliver.

So far, the cost in damage makes it the 5th costliest disaster in U.S. history for the overall places, though we all know Katrina was the costliest disaster in U.S. history when it hit New Orleans. I pray all the survivors and their families are safe.

  18. Jan. 4 Texas Church Shooting

  19. Atlanta Spa Shootings

Eight people were killed (six of them were Asian). This tragedy is proof that we need to focus more on combating racism against Asians, not just in America, but around the whole world. Sadly, because of the rising anti-Asian sentiment following the pandemic, we can safely say that America's values on race have long deteriorated.

  20. Sriwijaya Air Boeing 737 Plane Crash in Indonesia

On January 9, a Boeing 737-500 operated by Sriwijaya Air crashed into the water four minutes after taking off from Jakarta. The plane was en route to Pontianak, Indonesia. All 62 passengers on board have been reported as missing.

  21. President Biden Cancels XL Pipeline

Guys, this is very big. So many people will lose a well-paying job because of this. So far, this is Biden's worst mistake.

Honestly, this is one of the worst decisions Biden has made so far.

  22. Tigray War in Ethiopia

I refuse to believe a certain riot is worse than a full-scale war. Seriously, the hype around the Capitol riots is absolutely overblown, and it's only because it took place on American soil.

  23. Taliban Takes Over Kabul, Capital of Afghanistan

This is very sad to see Afghanistan go up in flames. We have to understand that the Taliban won't be defeated. They have set up to go against the government because the government won't fight back, despite having strong and loyal support from America for nearly two decades. The government is also very corrupt.

America has a price to pay for having their own troops on Afghan soil. It's bound to be humiliating whenever they withdraw their troops from Afghanistan. However, the government of Afghanistan still has to decide their future and care for their own people. America has to care about their own interests more than other countries, but it's not worth drawing more blood with their soldiers.

For anyone blaming Joe Biden and/or Donald Trump, it's not entirely their fault. They both have some degree of responsibility since they both supported the war back then and bombed Afghan soil before. Trump had a Taliban deal a year ago he bragged about, and the GOP removed that page. Why? It's because many of the leaders he met with are now in charge of what's happening.

  24. Twitter Suspends Over 70,000 Accounts Due to Possible "Risk of Violence" Including Trump's Account

    SAY NO TO CENSORSHIP

You don't have to be a leftist to realize that Twitter's censorship has left the site in a sorry state. You don't have to believe in Trump like most of the accounts that were suspended, but his suspension completely tanked Twitter's market shares. I don't think they thought this through, as now their platform won't grow back as fast.

Furthermore, almost all these accounts were taken down because of a "risk of violence," but Twitter still allows the Kathy Griffin tweet, the numerous Antifa accounts, and a number of other violent hashtags. Note that they only seem to tolerate violence on one side.

This is backfiring on them as Uganda is now threatening to ban Twitter from their country. Not to mention, Mexico's president and Germany's chancellor also condemn the mass banning on the website.
