Top 10 Worst Things that Happened in 2021

There were a ton of bad things that happened this year, but one event in particular made me lose my mind. The Capitol storming was one of the worst things of the year, right next to the BLM riots of last year. Think about it. If you knew someone who was among the rioters, crowing like a deranged rooster about wanting to kill Nancy Pelosi or hang Mike Pence or something like that, report the authorities. And you know what's worse? Republican lawmakers forget the terrible act even existed and praise Trump for all the wrong reasons. And you know what's even worse? My state, New Jersey, had a ton of Capitol arrests. This "protest" was one of the reasons why blind nationalism is not always a good thing, and it's one of the reasons why the US is getting more divided every year.

They have invaded Capitol Hill because most of them want to protest a joint session that supposes to count the electoral votes, which they've wanted to overturn an election for whatever reason, with no evidence of widespread voter fraud presented by the justice department and the courts. Rudy and Trump did a rally that morning, and encouraged them to fight hard like they've never had, which they've become even angrier, with a few of them committing acts of violence. Those house Republicans voting to object the electoral votes have nothing to show, with nearly two-thirds of them voting to object, and way less of a quarter of Senate Republicans have voted to object the electoral college results. They've done this for a show, and every single person who enabled this event should be held accountable.

If the Covid-19 mishandling is the first nail in Trump's election coffin, then this is the last. Days before Biden hits the office, Trump and his followers stormed the capitol in an attempt to overturn the elections. 5 are dead, hundreds are injured. And what happens? They still didn't manage to impeach Trump a second time for good (though considering it's just a few days left, it wasn't that much of an issue). Hopefully any future president needs to learn this lesson. Never, EVER, be like a Trump who is willing to (unintentionally) kill people to stay in power.

This is perhaps the lowest Trump has ever stooped to in recent history after all he had done in the last 4 years. The elections are factual, yet he continues fighting the results and refuses a peaceful concession to Joe. If those things he'd done before weren't bad enough, then this is the last straw! 5 people died in the storming because of what Trump did. We shouldn't worry though, we only have 13 days before this madness is over!

My school is closed for two weeks (January 11, 2021- January 22, 2021). The virus was caused by China. If there is one thing that will be remembered in the 2020s, it's the coronavirus.

Blame the Delta variant.

Unlike many people on this website, I don't think that we should blame this on Isreal because of three important factors. Number one, Palestine initiated the attack. Number two, when Isreal was going to bomb a building they sent notes in advance to tell the people in the buildings to evacuate. Number three, the only reason Isreal bombs schools or hospitals is because that is where to Palestinian terrorists set up the bombs.

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict that's been raging on for over 50 years continues. What makes it worse is how many civilians are getting caught in the crossfire. These are crimes against humanity, no doubt about it.

The second really terrible event in May has to be the conflict between Israel and Palestine (specifically Gaza). Israel is up against the Hamas regime from Gaza, and there's been nonstop unrest and death involved. I really want an end to middle eastern conflict completely.

I truly detest Israel for bombing Gaza Strip, yet people find this okay. Japan almost did the same crap back in 1941 and got nuked. TWICE. Israel does it, but nothing happens, except they get rewarded.

I hope that's not true because after all of those peace talks and summits in 2018 and 2019 they did all of that for nothing. In 2018 the North Korean leader and South Korean president crossed the DMZ, climbed Mt Paektu together, and made a joint bid to host the 2032 Summer Olympics. Donald Trump also crossed the DMZ making him the first president to do so. The South Korean president even went to Pyongyang and got a warm welcome by North Koreans and the leader and invited the North Korean leader to Seoul. Donald Trump even invited the North Korean leader to Washington D.C. I hope North Korea is not going back to their old ways because Joe Biden's gonna be president now. I hope Joe Biden will help make the peace talks continue.

It's actually kinda sad because look back at 2018 and 2019. North Korea and South Korea had peace talks at DMZ and the leaders crossed the border together. And North Korea and United States also had peace talks in Singapore, Hanoi and DMZ and had peace agreements, made history and made a huge step towards Korea Reunification. I would hate to see all that peace progress go down the drain. I hope Joe Biden will make that peace progress continue.

More propaganda-fueled bait. They make empty threats like this all the time just to make an impression on their people that they're this super powerful country. North Korea is a pathetic wasteland run by nothing but scumbags. They'll never lay a finger on the US because they know if they did, they'd be wiped off the map in an instant.

Pure example of toxic nationalism. Even the admirers of North Korea's communism seen on twitter is very hilarious and fun to watch.

In a winter storm that occurred in Texas, hundreds of thousands of households don't have electricity. Many of them are freezing to death, and this is what happens if America has brittle infrastructure. Frozen wind turbines aren't the main culprit for Texas' power outages, but every resource used, from nuclear to coal to solar.

By far the worst thing that happened this year, it even caused an entire railway station in China to shut down because their ticket system was still running on flash!

This is sad, but it's not as terrible as other stuff that happened.

The storming of the Capitol is thousands of times worse.

What an absolute disgrace. A spineless worm who's too afraid to put the pants on and take the country by the reigns. He's done nothing but spend money to "Build" infrastructure and promote hate towards innocent people of society. I won't be surprised if he leaves office so Harris can take his place and further destroy this once-amazing country.

Listen people. Would you seriously rather have Donald Trump, a man who let his country fall apart, be the POTUS? I'm not saying that Biden will be the best president ever. But what happened at the Capitol in January was evidence that Trump truly only cares about himself. At least Biden isn't putting children in literal cages.

The way this whole thing went down was really horrific. Many of our people that were in Afghanistan have either been killed or are still trapped there being held hostage in horrible conditions. Not to mention a lot of powerful weapons were left behind that these awful terrorist can now use against us. What kind of a potato head President thinks this is a good way to execute an evacuation. I swear Joe Biden has lost his mind.

This is literally miles worse than what happened on January 6th, say what you want but thousands of people were murdered by the Taliban in the process and now Afghanistan is once again a hardcore totalitarian Islamist state, and the last time that happened they housed Bin Laden and he planned and carried out 9/11 in the safety of Afghanistan, and they started the opium trade. This was probably the worst event of the year.

This is very sad to see Afghanistan go into flames, but we have to understand about the Taliban, which they won't be defeated, and they have set up for going against the government of their country because the government won't fight back, despite of having strong and loyal support with America for nearly two decades, and the government is also very corrupt. America has a price to pay for having their own troops into Afghan soil, and it's bond to be humiliating whenever they withdraw their own troops from Afghanistan, but the government of Afghanistan still has to decide for their future, as well for caring their own people. America has to care about their own interest more than other countries, but it's more than not worth it on drawing more blood with their soilders.

This needs to be number 1, the Taliban killed 1,000+ people on their bloody path to power, and everything after has been botched worse than Saigon. As bad as January 6 was, it doesn't even compare. The Taliban has been going house to house like the SS killing anyone supportive of the US or have any sort of "Western Decadence" or whatnot. This invasion resulted in the Kabul attack that's killed 162 Afghan civilians and 14 servicemen. This is the worst event of the year In my opinion and has the worst implications for the future.

I wish I could say I was surprised but I'm not. The US spent decades pretty much giving the Taliban what they needed to succeed. Just more blood on our hands to add to the pool.

He deserves to be impeached for a second time, because he incited insurrection. We have ten House Republicans in favor of impeaching him, which is now the most bipartisan American Presidential impeachment in history.

At this point, this is a waste of time, if this were during the midterm election, okay that could make sense, but now this is just a waste.

A shooting broke out at a spa in Atlanta killing 8 people including 5 Asians. It's hate toward Asia & a reminder we still have fear & hate in this world. The hate needs to stop. Prayers for the families & Asia.

You don't have to be a leftist to realize that Twitter's censorship has left the site into a sorry state of affairs. You don't have to believe in Trump like most of the accounts that were suspended, but his suspension completely tanked Twitter's market shares and I don't really think they thought this through as now their platform won't grow back as fast. Furthermore, almost all these accounts were taken down because of a "risk of violence" but Twitter still ALLOWS the Kathy Griffin tweet, the numerous Antifa accounts, as well as a number of other violent hashtags. Note that they only seem to tolerate violence on one side only.

This is then backfiring in their faces at the moment as Uganda is now threatening to ban Twitter from their country too. Not to mention Mexico's president and Germany's chancellor also condemn the mass banning on the website.

Look, I may hate Trump for the storming of the Capitol but what Twitter did wasn't just wrong, it's reprehensible. This shows that even world leaders can be easily shut down by some corporate platform due to political bias. Even Trump deserves freedom of speech! Don't be like Twitter, have some common sense!

So this item conveniently left out the fact the these 70,000 accounts had alleged ties to Qanon. Nice job, whoever submitted this.

This was pretty much a foregone conclusion if you study how impeachment proceedings go. 67 votes are needed to remove Trump from the possibility of running again, only 57 in this case. Dems even with every one of them voting (by the way this isn't bipartisan if all of them vote one way) as well as 7 R senators voting were just not enough.

At least with this over, the senators and representatives can HOPEFULLY get to doing what they were elected to do. Otherwise, people will hate them more.

Biden opened the borders, okay, but let's look at the state of affairs going on with the borders at current. They are being sent in in droves, then packed into migrant facilities, often in close quarters DURING A PANDEMIC I MAY ADD. 100% guarantee there's some COVID-positive people in those groups, so they're bringing the sickness into these facilities. It's also likely that some are starving there. You would think that these immigrants would be legally and safely documented into this country but apparently not. Heck when some senators decide to journey to the border to see what's going on they are being BLOCKED by some WH staffers. Biden administration needs to be under investigation as we really don't know what's going on.
