Top 10 Best Things that Have Happened in 2021

It seemed sad that there was a list for "worst things that have happened in 2021" over halfway through the month and not a best things one, so I have made this list. And yes, I know using numbers instead of letters for this one list is strange for me, but this makes it almost identical to the "worst things 2021" one. Enjoy!
The Top Ten
1 COVID-19 vaccine productions boost

This was a really good moment but sadly not enough people in my country Hong Kong are getting vaccinated enough and there are still lots of cases even with vaccinated people so we still have to stay in masks for the time being.

The productions of COVID-19 vaccines continue to boost, and more and more people are getting vaccinated every day.

Update: Been vaccinated for a while now, looking to get my next shot as soon as possible! Things are looking good!

If you're in America, you can easily get a vaccine now. I just got vaccinated most recently on my first dose, and I have a very mild sore left arm, which I feel very little.

Get vaccinated, America.

People. Please. Get vaccinated. If you don't want to wear masks or socially distance anymore without risking the spread of this virus. JUST DO IT.

2 Biden gets inaugurated

Okay, Trump supporters on this website. I respect you. Just because I think Trump is super despicable and a sociopath like the rest of the world outside the US, doesn't mean I don't like you. There. That's done. But yeah, today, 4 hours and 8 minutes, wait, scratch that, 4 hours and 9 minutes ago Trump officially left the white house, and Biden got inaugurated. Hooray!
Edit: wow, he's doing better than I thought so far, I'm impressed! I thought he would be a decent but boring president but nope. He's already made some great decisions I support, though it's too early to have a strong opinion.

I'm glad that we elected a man who is appropriate for this moment, and urged every American to come together with challenges ahead.
He told us to bring America together, don't get disagreements into tribal fights, have our leaders speak out against lies, and wish a silent prayer on the four hundred thousand dead from the virus.

All I saw on Twitter was Bernie meme Trump Hatred and love for the poet. Nobody actually likes Biden funny how he's only president because people hate Trump and not because he's actually good. Anyway I'm giving him one chance. Hopefully he won't screw things up

Not only do I want Trump gone, but Biden has a lot of great policies, and a great character. Trump didn't have any of that. However, Biden isn't in his prime anymore, but he's pretty good for his age nevertheless.

3 Derek Chauvin found guilty on all 3 charges related to George Floyd's death

His guilty verdict is a blatant example of being a masterclass of severe police misconduct. While there wasn't justice being served, there was accountability for committing murder.

I don't think there was ever any doubt he was guilty. Thank god it wasn't a not guilty verdict, or there would have been more unneeded riots.

Now he's being sent to 22.5 years to prison. That's what he gets for mindlessly murdering an innocent man as well as attempting to kill a 14 year old teen back in 2017. Yep, he tried to hurt a child.

Murderers deserve to go to prison. Simple.

4 Donald Trump is impeached for the second time

Donald Trump was without a doubt one of the most racist and egoistical world leaders of all time. Good job US for finally getting rid of this idiot.

There was a time where I, wouldn't say stood up for Trump, but at least played Devil's Advocate, in that yeah he's bad, but he's not THAT bad. However, with his mishandling of a global pandemic, and his desperate attempts to cling on to power by any means necessary, he's shown that he's not fit to be in office.
And frankly I hope America learns from their lesson, and never elects anyone this mad with power again.

The toxic orange has, and continues to deeply damage American society. He's not the only one, however, and there are others who should take a hard look in the mirror.

I really do hope that it's successful this time. He needs to be stopped before something really bad happens. The attack on the Capitol was terrorism, and if they can stop him, his supporters will follow.

5 The African Continental Free Trade Area comes into effect

This does have some negative benefits as well as positive ones, but it should still go on here. For those of you who don't know, the African Continental Free Trade Area is a free trade area that was founded in 2018 but didn't come into effect until January 1, 2021.

6 Donald Trump banned from Twitter

Banning him was a good thing. Maybe a bit extreme, but it was still good. Maybe a better approach would have been to have people review his tweets before officially posting them, because then anything horribly offensive and degrading to all the minorities and people he detests, usually unfairly, would not be posted and the few ok things he said would be.

What was the point of this? He was funny to look at..., now we can't do that anymore. Besides I'm pretty sure this is infringement of freedom of speech, and I don't even like Trump

glad that terrorist got banned. he is narcisictic, a bully, stupid, mentally challenged, small brain, xenophobic, racist (He invented racism). Prices were so high he ruind economy he also ruined climate I used to have lots of rain here but because of trump all the rain is gone Portland and the pacific northwest will turn into a desert.

I'm actually kind of glad this happened. Not because I dislike Trump, but because it will keep him out of a lot of trouble on Twitter.

7 United Nations declares 2021 the International Year of Peace and Trust

It's true! They're obviously just trying to lift our spirits during this sad time, but whatever. It's still a pretty great thing that not many people know. Now you know.

Peace should be the future. Otherwise, war would lead us to death of humanity. (Via nuclear and biological weapons)

Even though, there's still going to be issues in the world!

I didn't know this?

8 The United Nations declares 2021 the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables

Hooray! Now all the carrots and broccoli and kale are going to form by the masses and help us fight covid-19! Or not. This might have been put into effect to help moms and dads feed their kids veggies, but it does seem odd.

Weird, but congrats to those strict parents.

9 Kamala Harris becomes the first female and black Vice-President of the United States

This is a milestone because of representation. Now young girls and non white individuals can look up to the white house and see its possible to run a country.

It warms my heart that she is the first colored and woman vice president in American history.

Maybe she isn't the best candidate but it's a big milestone for the United States.

Women of colour in power is a huge step forward.

10 Nikolas Cruz pleads guilty of the Marjory Stoneman massacre

Finally. After years. He's finally getting a taste of his own medicine. Look what he did to those innocent lives.

The Contenders
11 Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are vaccinated

Many other celebrities have already been vaccinated, including these two, Steve Martin, Ian McKellen, Martha Stewart, Joe Biden, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kamala Harris, and much more.

I mean prince Philip dies anyway. And what's so good about this everyone should be treated the same. Why don't I say I got vaccinated and it's one of the best things that has happened to everyone

It's good to see that vaccinations have been taking place.

Prince Phillip Died, only due to being too old!

12 Andrew Cuomo resigns
13 Keeping Up With the Kardashians is cancelled

You know this was the most popular reality TV show of all time for a reason. The finale aired on June 10th, ending the series after nearly 14 years & 20 seasons.

Finally! After brainwashing young girls for 14 years, this sickening show is being cancelled. Good riddance!

A TV Show being cancelled isn't as good as other stuff, but 14 years was too long for this rubbish.

Nice. That show went on for too long. And who cares about the Kardashians anyways?

14 The United States rejoins the Paris Climate Accord and the World Health Organization

Yay! Trump was really making it obvious that he's fine with the world burning by stopping the fight against climate change as much as he could, and there was actually a noticeable decrease in the environment while he was president, but hopefully now that they're back in those two organisations, the damage Trump has indirectly done and been a big part of will be repaired.

15 The border between Saudi Arabia and Qatar reopens

There's not much else to say about this one, but maybe it will inspire peace between the two countries.

Ok it doesn't concern me

16 The number of COVID-19 vaccinations administered worldwide exceeds 100 million

The sheer scientific triumph of the COVID vaccines is a giant leap forward.

I am pleasantly surprised at how fast that number has grown.

I added this to the list because, I mean, big milestone!

17 BLM gets nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize

BLM has reignited and invigorated a vital conversation. And at least it won't start any wars/drone strikes (looking at you, past 3 or 4 peace prize winners...)

Your message is good. Do yourself a favor BLM and try not to get associated with actually bad groups that hurt your image though.

Thankfully it's the normal part of the BLM.

Toxic/radical BLM supporters have no place in the movement.

There's the regular BLM inc, which does peaceful protests and then there's the Black Panther Trojans.

18 The return of crowded events

After 1.5 years, events with lots of people have returned. From outdoor events to indoors & others, we're seeing a light in a return to normal. We got toward that in the summertime & it's becoming more normal as time goes on & more people are vaccinated.

19 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Become the First NFL Team to Play and Win a Super Bowl in Their Home Stadium

Now they also won the Super Bowl at their home stadium. Congratulations to the Buccaneers they made history.

I guess this means Buccaneers gets homefield advantage for the Super Bowl. How interesting indeed.

I don't like Tom Brady, but this is quite interesting.

20 Caillou gets removed from PBS Kids

I was excited when I heard this, until Cartoonito decided to bring this piece of crap back (and what's even worse is that they're airing the Classic Caillou episodes from the 1990s). If you think yellow shirt Caillou was bad enough, gray shirt Caillou is even worse.

You guys celebrated then but now he's back with a vengeance. If you're wondering what channel he's going to be on, he's set to air on Cartoon Network (thanks to Cartoonito, which may or may not be the start of the dark ages).

I want to know why so many "best things" on this list are actually just spiteful crap. Seriously teens, it's a kids show. Unless someone is forcing you to watch the show you should just not care about it instead of hating this stuff.

Caillou got removed from PBS Kids earlier this year, now, Caillou is not cancelled, as Caillou's New Adventures still airs weekly on YouTube, but the original series will not be shown on TV anymore

21 The United Nations declares 2021 the international year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development

I'm sorry that I had to put in all these things that the UN said, but like I said I had to fill in the space here.

22 Glenn Youngkin wins the 2021 Virginia Gubernatorial Election

I wasn't expecting this win to be honest, but after looking at how Youngkin campaigned, it was actually very good. He focused heavily on the issues that voters were most invested in. Terry McAuliffe, his opponent and a former Virginia governor, focused too much on attacking Youngkin for being endorsed by Trump, as well as a very costly gaff where he said that parents shouldn't have a say in what kids should be learning in school. That and he also stated that there should be less white teachers. We're all over Trump by now, and what McAuliffe said about parents of students really lost him a huge chunk of people.

I was already expecting this, I was hoping Youngkin won. Good job, Glenn Youngkin

23 Derek Chauvin sentenced to 22.5 years in prison

Well, looks like justice has been served to the Floyd family (for now). Not only that, but Derek has even attempted to kill a 14-year old boy back in 2017. You know someone is an abusive cop when they flat-out hurt actual children under 18.

Killers deserve to be punished, whatever clothing (uniform) they are wearing.

24 Over 480 million people fully vaccinated against Coronavirus

Vaccines won't save the world from corona, even if they were helpful. The government shouldn't have to force communist actions anyway.

That's great but I don't know if 480 million is really a milestone we really don't need separate items for 470 million 490 million etc.

Honestly, we really need a lot more. However, this is a pretty good milestone!

25 Adele announces new album called 30

When it's released, it's hoped to break Drake's record for most streamed album on Apple Music & break the all time #1 global iTunes record for fastest time even if it's by a margin.
