Top 10 Best Romantic Languages

The Top Ten
1 French

Yes, French is a very sexy and beautiful language, especially when talking to a woman because of its harmonic and elegant words and phrases. I love the French language! Oooh la la!

I'm French, and it's funny because in another top ten, some people were saying that it is "the most annoying" language because we supposedly speak fast. But we actually don't. I'm proud to be French, and I love my language, even if it is hard with a lot of grammar rules. It is an ancient, beautiful language!

French love songs about the city of love are my favorite! It makes me even more proud to see that my language is number one. Thank you for loving it and making it the top romantic language!

2 Spanish

Spanish is not just a form of communication, but a collection of words that come together like a song. As native speakers converse, you can naturally hear rhymes emerging from their speech. As a native speaker myself, I often catch phrases that show why people use them as melodies for songs.

Italian, French, and even English (when spoken correctly) also have this quality. I'm sure that if I understood other languages, I would notice it in them as well. Spanish, however, sounds especially fluid, and many of my friends often ask me to speak it for them. They are even trying to learn it.

3 Italian

Italian is not only a romantic language but also a 'sexy' one. Having the closest dialect to Latin also makes this language interesting and romantic. It truly is beautiful, not too hard to learn, and can help you pick up other romantic languages, such as French and Spanish.

Oh, come on! French and Spanish sound great, but Italian is on another level entirely. Just listening to two people converse in Italian about any subject, even without understanding a single word, is pleasing enough to make it your hobby.

4 Portuguese

Awesome language! Especially Brazilian Portuguese, which is much sweeter and hotter than Portuguese from Portugal. Those who don't like it just don't know it. Try listening to Brazilian music. For sure, this language deserves a spot in the top 5.

Portuguese, whether from Portugal or Brazil, is one of the most beautiful languages in the world. Listen to the music of the language, feel the way each word is pronounced, and you will fall in love with Portuguese.

Portuguese is the most beautiful language on Earth to me. It's like love in a language. I think it should be #1 because it's so beautiful. I speak it every day with my parents! It's beautiful and amazing!

5 Romanian

I have a Romanian boyfriend, and I have to admit, I sometimes ask him to speak in Romanian to me because it's so romantic. He actually proposed in Romanian. I say this as someone who grew up just outside of Madrid, Spain.

I agree completely. Well described.

If you try to explain certain Romanian words, it's impossible to do so accurately. This quality makes it the most beautiful language!

The Romanian language is the most closely related to Latin and sounds very beautiful. Romanian is my favorite language in the world!

6 Latin

It's a very structured and logical language, which makes it both beautiful and romantic. Because it is so logically consistent and well-structured, it's very well suited for poetry. As a linguist, I think the best romantic languages are:

1. Classical Latin
2. Classical Greek
3. Old Persian (Avestan)
4. French
5. Italian

Latin is the most beautiful ancient language. Even to this day, it has such a smooth sound, like a combination of Italian, English, and Spanish.

My older brother is learning Latin, and I know some words. They sound musical.

7 Sicilian
8 Catalan

I simply think it can sound romantic. It's warm and full of smooth sounds, while still retaining a few harsher tones.

9 Sardinian
10 Venetian

The most spoken dialect in the Veneto region of Italy and one of the most well-known dialects in Italy. It's very pleasant to speak, sounds good, and resembles both Italian and Spanish. There are over 2,000,000 speakers. (Take info from Wikipedia)
