The Top Ten
1 M*A*S*H Debuting in 1972, this American television series is based on a 1968 novel by Richard Hooker. Centered on a mobile army surgical hospital during the Korean War, the show blends drama and comedy to explore the lives of military doctors and nurses. The series garnered critical acclaim and became one of the most-watched shows in U.S. television history.

This series 1972-1983 was a masterpiece. Recently been watching DVD's of different series with a friend. Poignant, moving and extremely funny. My favorite US T.V. comedy. But it was more than just a comedy. A satire of the times with brilliant script's and incredible acting

2 All in the Family All in the Family is an American sitcom television series that was originally broadcast on the CBS television network for nine seasons.

Both me and my wife grew up watching and loving both of those great shows. So I was very excited that Norman Lear and Jimmy Kimball assembled such a talented group of actors! However I was skeptical that any cast could hold a candle to the past greats of both great shows! My wife and I were both blown away how well it went! We laughed through out both shows! Well done and Bravo! Not only did these shows make us laugh now and then they also made its viewers take a hard look at the prejudices and social injustices that we had then and still have now! Lastly, It was so great to see the still beautiful Marla Gibbs! Having her be part of the new cast was incredible! Two thumbs up!

3 The Mary Tyler Moore Show

Perfect. the thing that I like most about mary is that she is so focused on finding a man, but really focused on her career. I feel that she is an inspiration and is a much better example of a powerful business woman than most people.
- Trinity Taylor

4 Happy Days Happy Days is an American television sitcom that aired first-run from January 15, 1974 to September 24, 1984 on ABC, with a total of 255 half-hour episodes.

I like Happy Days because it makes me happy to see it. Also because everyone is nice, not one villain. Loveable characters make it a pleasure to watch the show, even in 2019.

5 Three's Company Three's Company is an American sitcom that aired for eight seasons on ABC from March 15, 1977, to September 18, 1984.

When this show first premiered, it was thought of only as a giggle show. However, it turned out to be one of the best examples of slapstick comedy in the history of television. John Ritter showed that he was a master of physical comedy and it really showed on this show. Another thing that really helped to make this show great was the whole ensemble. I feel that Joyce DeWitt was totally underrated in her role as the sensible Janet and that she was the perfect counterpoint to Jack's leering personality. The only thing I was disappointed with was how they devolved Suzanne Somers character, Chrissy. If you look closely at many of the early episodes, Chrissy wasn't quite the dumb blond that she later turned out to be. If anything she was more naive then dumb. Other than that, this show will always be a classic of the era it was produced in.

6 Taxi
7 Laverne and Shirley

I loved watching this show with my mom when I was a little girl. I loved the theme song. Ms.Penny Marshall will be greatly missed. She was one-of-a-kind for all female comedians that was my first impression when I watched her on Laverne & Shirley, May she rest in peace and may her family and loved ones find peace at this time of grieving.

8 The Jeffersons

From the first intense of watching the Jeffersons I had no idea what the show was about, It was quite to see an African American family living in the deluxe-apartment and having a maid to offer her janitorial services to them. From the first few episodes of the show I had fallen in love with all the actors in this sitcom as they were able to get the humor out of you.. The Character George was quite the stubborn everyday African -American man who was an entrepreneur (Owning a Laundry company)
- Raheem Smith

9 Sanford and Son Sanford and Son is an American sitcom television series that ran on the NBC television network from January 14, 1972, to March 25, 1977.
