Top 10 Metal Songs with the Most Interesting Compositions

We are looking for musically-interesting and well-composed metal songs. The level of complexity also matters.
Take into account the structure of the songs and how the different elements are combined, the build up.
The Top Ten
1 And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope - Ne Obliviscaris

I can write an article about the composition of this song but even a long description can't replace a listen. You have to hear this song (extreme progressive metal of 2012).
Its composition is studied/analysed at Sydney Conservatorium of Music (it's included in a teaching curriculum).
You can also check out a live version to see some details, such as... a perfectly synchronized headbanging of the band members:
Ne Obliviscaris - And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope live in Colorado 2016

2 Hallowed Be Thy Name - Iron Maiden

This is a multi-part song (like Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen) and it has no chorus. All parts are different and no part is repeated. The song just goes from one part to another but these parts are very well connected while keeping the surprise thanks to the fact that the sections are different.

3 Wheel of Time - Blind Guardian

This song also should be studied for its composition.
What I like about Blind Guardian is that they change something before it gets boring. This is a rare talent and it's very important especially if a band writes lengthy and complex songs. The more I listen to Blind Guardian, the more I realize that many bands actually fail at the "perfect timing" aspect of composing the songs (some of these bands are more popular than Blind Guardian).

Oh wow. As expected, any excuse to put Blind Guardian on a list. WE GET IT. YOU LIKE BLIND GUARDIAN.

4 Mana - Equilibrium
5 One - Metallica
6 The Dance of Eternity - Dream Theater

This is a 6:13 minute long instrumental known for going through over 128 time signature changes.

7 Devour Me, Colossus (Part I): Blackholes - Ne Obliviscaris
8 I Am - Theocracy
9 Dante's Inferno - Iced Earth
10 The Scarecrow - Avantasia
The Contenders
11 Schizos (Are Never Alone) Parts I & II - Annihilator

It's a 4:30 minute long song composed of fast thrash riffs. It has only 2 lines of lyrics so it's almost an instrumental piece. But sounds awesome.
Oh, and the entire song is played by one guitarist: Jeff Waters

12 The Art of Dying - Gojira

There are several interesting things in this song, including an odd time signature (21/16) used during the intro and beginning of the song

13 The Poet and the Pendulum - Nightwish
