Most Hauntingly Beautiful and Sad Songs

The Contenders: Page 5

81 Truly Madly Deeply - Savage Garden Truly Madly Deeply - Savage Garden
82 Fade to Black - Metallica Fade to Black - Metallica

This song captures so much pain and anguish though powerful vocals and a haunting guitar.

83 The Same Deep Water As You - The Cure The Same Deep Water As You - The Cure
84 Gloomy Sunday - Lydia Lunch Gloomy Sunday - Lydia Lunch
85 Don't Be There - Switchfoot Don't Be There - Switchfoot

Thy lyrics and musical arrangement quite perfectly fit the list title.

86 For Annie - Petra For Annie - Petra

The most haunting song I've ever heard. Petra is (was) a hard rock band of the 80's and 90's. I heard this song at a concert, and when it was over, the concert hall was deathly silent. Song never hit the charts as far as I know, but it sure did slice though me (and apparently everyone else that was there). Is it too late for Annie?

87 Young and Beautiful - Lana del Rey Young and Beautiful - Lana del Rey
88 Civilian - Wye Oak Civilian - Wye Oak
89 Lux Aeterna - Clint Mansell Lux Aeterna - Clint Mansell

This should be called, "Hauntingly Beautiful." Makes me think the end of days is on the rise. I can see buildings toppling, the ocean swallowing all the continents, the sun speeding into the earth and scorching us all to char. Very emotionally stimulating.

This song fits the description of haunting and beautiful perfectly. Once you listen to it you'll see.

I made a video for my Dad's memorial to this. Hauntingly beautiful is exactly right.

90 You Know I Care - Far From Eden

Definitely a very beautiful song really touches me every time I hear it, the lyrics are so meaningful and easy to relate to and chorus is also beautiful

91 Bullet - Hollywood Undead Bullet - Hollywood Undead

A song with incredibly sad lyrics, mixed with an upbeat instrumental. This mix creates a shockingly powerful song about suicide.

This song is so incredible! The mix of good and bad is so powerful, it is over whelming! - cutiepiestarlight

One of the most honest songs you will ever listen to.

This is one of my favorite songs.

92 White Winter Hymnal - Fleet Foxes White Winter Hymnal - Fleet Foxes

No doubt a beautiful song, but it's not that song, even for a song about death.

93 Snuff - Slipknot Snuff - Slipknot

An absolutely beautiful song that is able to tell a gripping, emotional story in just mere minutes.

94 Cut - Plumb Cut - Plumb

Okay, I'm listening to this song right now. Oh God, even sadder than Skillet's Everything Goes Black. It reminds me of a book that I'm writing. It's called, "Night At The Museum: Horns and Halos". It's where Jedediah is attacked by some group of teenagers, who had been infected with a vampire virus, and sadly, he becomes one himself.

And, you thought that "Anthem Of The Angels" by Breaking Benjamin was emotional. This song just punches you in the stomach!

Ohh, so tragic. Sadder than Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic.

This is such a sad song. It has the smooth lyrics that want to make you cry.

95 Concrete Angel - Jackie Evancho

Especially haunting and riveting as sung by this young lady at age 9. From her first (and self-produced) album "Prelude To A Dream". This was released before her appearance on "America's Got Talent".

A song written about a real child who died... Doesn't get much sadder than this. - BobG

Saddest song Jackie's sung.

96 Serenity - Resident Evil 4 Soundtrack
97 Fix You - Coldplay Fix You - Coldplay
98 Take Me to Church - Hozier Take Me to Church - Hozier V 1 Comment
99 See You Again - Wiz Khalifa See You Again - Wiz Khalifa
100 All I See - Lydia All I See - Lydia

"All I see scares me... "
