Best Songs From Dream Theater's Falling Into Infinity

The Top Ten
  1. Trial of Tears

An amazing song with perfect lyrics.

It's raining, raining, raining on the streets of New York City.

It's raining, raining, raining deep in heaven.

  2. Lines in the Sand

This song rocks, much like Trial of Tears and Peruvian Skies. It's one of the most underrated songs on an incredibly underrated album.

Another fine solo by both Derek on keys, who sets the mood and builds up the tension. Then John delivers his second-best solo here.

  3. Hollow Years

So simple, yet so catchy and full of feeling.

  4. Peruvian Skies

The guitar work is epic. This is the best song on the album.

  5. New Millenium

  6. Hell's Kitchen

The mood begins building, setting up one of John's finest solos. This solo displays both passion and technique, continuing the style from the days of Images and Words. Speed isn't everything, but when used sparingly, it makes a great statement, as it does here.

This track shows that Dream Theater can create a perfectly moving song in just four minutes, even without any lyrics. Pretty cool.

  7. Take Away My Pain

I was sitting on the edge of the water...

  8. Burning My Soul

  9. Just Let Me Breathe

Not the worst, but not the best either. It should be ranked higher than You Not Me.

  10. Anna Lee

  11. The Contenders
  12. You Not Me
