Top 10 Songs on Iced Earth's Incorruptible
Today, June 16, 2017, is the official release date of the 12th studio album by the American metal band Iced Earth.I liked this album from the first listen.
While I didn't think it was quite as good as some of their older epics, I was not disappointed with this. It closes the album on a note that hits on all cylinders.
It's the longest song on the album (9:30 minutes). Guitarist and main songwriter Jon Schaffer said about it: "That's got a Viking kind of a vibe to it."
The best song of 2017 (so far, anyway).
Stu Block sounds so much like Matt Barlow on this song that I can't believe it's not Matt. Great job, Stu! (Stu is great on the whole album, by the way.)
I also like the solo in this song. Their new lead guitarist, Jake Dreyer, joined in 2016.
Loving that guitar solo. And the energetic ending.
My favorite song on this album so far.
I agree with Jon Schaffer, who said about this song, "That's one that's actually pretty brutal. It's like a total kick in the balls. But, you know, there's a lot of varied emotions on this."
I forgot to mention in the list description that this album was tentatively titled The Judas Goat, but they changed it to Incorruptible.
I like the varied vocal performance on this song. Definitely the most intense song on the album.
Some impressive guitar work here.
This is a pirate song.
IronSabbathPriest - yes. I've written several times on other lists that Jon Schaffer knows how to compose a song that is melodic yet heavy enough.
Proves that songs can be aggressive and melodic.
It's an instrumental, 6:35 minutes long.
