Top 10 Countries Who Should Leave NATO
This is a list of countries who will hopefully leave the NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) immediately. These countries have stronger ties with the Islamic world and East-Asia than the USA, Britain or France has.It would be only good for their economy, independence and especially for their reputation.
Turkey's hate for the West will, in my opinion, be the trigger for a serious confrontation. It scares me to think that NATO and the U.K. have such close ties with a country that openly supports terrorist groups and bombs those trying to stop their spread. They are not our allies. On the contrary, their policies put the whole world at risk. The media blinds us into thinking that Russia is the terrible counterpart in this ordeal. These games with Russia will end up quite badly.
As soon as Turks step foot in Syrian sovereign territory, the Russians have all the right to defend the territory, just as the Turks "defended theirs." But as always, communism will be seen as the world's evil if such happens.
Germany was torn apart by the Allied bastards. Germany would rather side with Russia and get the hell out of NATO, the countries who blamed them for a war they never started and never held the other guilty parties responsible.
If Germany leaves, it will give strength to other nations to leave the USA's tyrannical sphere of influence. The USA is like a wife abuser. What is needed is for one of its stronger victims to stand up and say enough is enough, encouraging others to do the same.
If Germany wants to defend itself against a potential Russian invasion, it must raise its own army. I don't care about "Nazi domination" - Germany should be allowed to defend itself.
Italy covers an area of 301,338 km². With almost 62 million inhabitants, it is the third most populous EU member state. Located in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, Italy shares... read more
Yes, Italy should definitely leave NATO because it has become a unilaterally controlled alliance driven by its major player's interest. The United States is literally a hijacked country run by a bunch of slimy, disconnected sociopaths who do not represent their fabulous people. They just lick each other's asses while playing golf together. Their only goal is to destabilize the world to control it.
It's not the Home of the Brave anymore and has become a dangerous ally that could drag all of us to hell. It's up to the US people to take back control of their great country.
I agree, NATO was the biggest mistake my country made since the fall of the Soviet Union.
In the Cold War, no Soviet soldier set foot in Romania, and they offered us the technology to build tanks, planes, and warships at insignificant prices. We were a significant weapons-exporting country. We were actually a regional power with a 300,000+ army capable of mobilizing 1,000,000 trained soldiers due to conscription, hundreds of fighters, and a strong navy in the Black Sea.
NATO has given us two rust buckets called frigates from the British boneyard, which cost us a ton of money to equip for a minimum standard of warfare. We also received 12 used F-16s from the Portuguese plane cemetery at the same price as 12 new Gripens with a very good offset and transfer of technology. A lot of battle-torn Humvees from Iraq and Afghanistan were more expensive to take back home than to buy new ones.
Now we have American soldiers, jets, and other foreign military equipment stationed here, including missile bases to intercept Russian nukes. The only thing we got out of it was to become a target for Russia.
We are Bulgarians, and that means we are Southern Slavic Orthodox Christians. Currently, this military alliance called NATO is targeting our Slavic Orthodox Christian brothers in Russia and Ukraine. This is unacceptable and offensive.
The bonds between Bulgaria, Russia, and Ukraine span more than ten centuries. Ever since we joined NATO and the EU, our economy has become stagnant, only recently surpassing 1985 purchasing power. To join NATO, we had to demilitarize and get rid of our deterrents. To join the EU, we had to dismantle our industrial base.
Needless to say, this was a huge mistake that lowered our standard of living for decades. This alliance is archaic anyway. Conventional warfare is a relic. Nowadays, war is being waged in the financial and cyber theaters. Gone are the days when millions of men and tanks clashed face to face. Instead, we have financiers speculating on prices and causing markets to crash, massive DDoS attacks bringing down government services, and black-ops taking out dissidents.
Spain should leave NATO. It has never been under threat geographically. With the Soviet Union, it stayed vastly neutral despite being a member. It was not in their interest. Now that Spain has regained its strength, it should create its own military alliance with Latin America through the "Organization of Iberia-American States" to keep Anglo imperialism out of its cultural zone.
Creating its own economic, military, and cultural alliance would be in the best interest of Spain if it wants to be an influential nation rather than a puppet.
Croatia should increase cooperation with Slavic countries, especially the Russian Federation, as NATO has changed from a defensive alliance to an offensive alliance.
The only country with worse relations with Croatia, next to the USA, is Serbia.
Croatia's progress is decreasing since we became part of NATO and the EU. No wonder all the young people are leaving this country.
This country should also leave NATO. Their politicians are doing quite well at the moment. However, they still don't have enough power to say no.
They have better relations with Russia than with the USA.
The US must focus on defending its own citizens from any potential threats, rather than defending other countries from nonexistent ones. Taxes are wasted on maintaining a military presence overseas, taxes that could be used for education, infrastructure, etc. Besides, if the US were attacked, I highly doubt other NATO members would care, although I'm sure plenty of people would want the US to "defend" them if they were attacked. Many Europeans seem to be sick of the US military presence in their countries, so why should we keep troops there? It's completely contrary to self-determination. If they don't want us there, we should leave, as it is their right to choose what they want.
Greece joined NATO through political pressure and sold-out politicians. The Greek people are totally against NATO and the USA. So basically, Greece is forced to join NATO. Right now, Greece stays in NATO due to pressure the USA applies via Turkey. There was an attempt by a certain politician to come to an agreement with Russia, and we all know how it finished. The CIA forced him to leave the party and political scene forever with terror tactics. One day, we hope a politician will sacrifice his life for the good of this country.
Britain should pull out of this broken organization. NATO should be ashamed of showing support for the downing of a Russian bomber by Turkey. I certainly would not want Britain to play any part in ganging up against the only country that is constructively removing a common foe in ISIS.
I'm afraid it is Russia who holds the moral high ground, and we should drop any allegiance to any country that behaves in such a way as Turkey has. Politicians are playing a game of Risk with their countries and the poorly informed public. With recent events, people are being overloaded with bad news. Now the people need to research what is really going on in the world and who is really causing everything to go wrong. The real news and information are in plain sight on the net. Just Google it.
Canada pays a disproportionately high amount for being in NATO. Domestic terrorist threats are raised due to association with other NATO members (USA especially). Canada faces little threat from abroad and thus is paying for intervention without benefit. A non-NATO Canada could resume its previous role as mediators and peacekeepers, which is more beneficial to the international community than Canada's role in NATO.
We need to create sane, intelligent, circumspect relations with Russia, China, and the rest of the world. NATO is the posse for Washington's bullying and warmongering. This ugly coalition needs to be broken up for the sake of world peace. Since WWII, the US, often backed by NATO, has killed over 3 million people. Time for some sanity. NATO has proven time and again that they do not respect the sovereignty of other nations. As a Canadian, I am ashamed of belonging to this band of thugs.
Poland and the Baltics are the most vocal about war with Russia, whereas Russia rejects such claims. They blindly follow the US rhetoric of "Russian aggression," making statements that even Reagan would have found ridiculous. They are not beneficial to NATO. In fact, they are one of its biggest threats.
True. There has been no real autonomy for Poland after WWII. First, it was under Soviet control, then influenced by Americans and Eastern countries, and now it's under the influence of Germany and the EU. It's a puppet country.
Poland is only used by the USA to spy on Russia and Belarus.
Portugal should leave NATO with Spain and form a military alliance with Latin America. They could reform the "Organization of Iberian-American States," thus creating a cultural alliance and protecting their sphere of influence from further Anglo imperialism. NATO only serves the interests of North America and Northern Europe.
Same as Spain, they have better relations with Latin America, especially Brazil.
We don't gain anything from being in NATO. Who would attack us? We'd make a better alliance with the CPLP.
I don't see why our soldiers should die for American interests. Either we should work with our European partners, or we should re-assume the position we held prior to 1940: friendship with all, alliance with none (armed neutrality).
The Netherlands should leave since NATO is not to be trusted with the USA at the head. The Netherlands needs to wake up.
Albania should leave NATO because it is too weak to attack a country like Serbia or Greece. Now even the USA doesn't care about them because Trump supports Serbia. When Albania leaves NATO, it will be completely destroyed by its neighbors, and I cannot wait to see that.
Trump supports Serbia? Wow... Trump supports Kosovo, and that triggers an automatic red flag for Serbia.
Every glorious Montenegrin with the love of his fearless ancestors and proud legacy knows where Montenegro belongs and where it does not. Guess which category NATO is in. Hang in there, brothers. The vassals and collaborators will fall.
Without Russian support in the 19th century, Montenegro wouldn't have existed as an independent state.
Why does Iceland need to be in NATO? They don't have an army, the people are against NATO membership, and it just gives the United States an excuse to militarize the country. They are trying to reopen Keflavík Air Base and drag Iceland into unnecessary conflict.
There's no reason for Iceland to be in NATO. They love NATO's enemies, don't have an army, and are too peaceful to be in NATO. If anything, they should join the SCO or CSTO, or whatever it's called.
I just want Denmark to leave. I would rather focus on the EU than NATO at this point, given the image of NATO and how the power of the USA is affecting European countries and their opinions on foreign affairs through NATO. I think the animosity towards Russia and China has become overrepresented because of the USA's government.
If leaving NATO could mean stopping my country from supporting Saudi Arabia, I would be a happy man. Many of my friends also want to leave for the same reasons. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to vote out. We just have to stay even if we don't want to.
