Sad that this was India's national anthem before Jana Gana Mana. The current national anthem brings people together (whether you are hindu, muslim, sikh etc.) and is about God being the protector and guider of india.
Contrast that with this, Britain's "God Save the King/Queen". Here the Indians were required to beseech God to protect the royal family of this small Island nation which had divided and conquered India, wrecked its economy and created religious division which destroyed Indian Unity. Here the Indians were thanking their oppressers and asking for their oppressor's enemies to be disposed of. Who even puts that stuff in an Anthem? An anthem should bring people together, not divide people.

The flag of Malaysia is not a copy of USA. The stripes were originally blue and white. The color of the canton were red but the judges for the design contest changed it. The original designer is Mohamed Hamzah, an architect from Johor Bahru.

The anthem they sing so nicely with their heads up high in arrogance was written in honour of the king and queen of England, they cry about British rule yet sing this with their heads high. Whoever added Indonesia to this list probably hasn't even heard what the national anthem even sounded like. Or worst, haven't absorbed the true meaning behind the song itself.
I'm not going to say much, because it's just pointless to argue when something doesn't even make sense. Adding Indonesia to this list was a mistake.

Australia's National anthem is amazingly bad. No, no matter how amazing you are at singing (and some great singers have tried to sing this song), can sing it well. It isn't awe inspiring at all.

It sounds like it was recorded on an old Philips Yak Back with a broken cable.
Knowing the unrest this nation faced in the 90's after the fall of the USSR, it probably was.

The French anthem is the most catchy, it's peculiar and old. It's historically very important for France and French people. When you hear or sing the bloody text makes you feel so motivated and inspired, it gives energy and pride, your are ready to sacrifice yourself for France and freedom.
At least with "La Marseillaise" we warn all our ennemies that we are strong and ready to fight. For me it's unthinkable to have an other anthem because it's the best in the world : everybody knows the music of "La Marseillaise" and it gives joy to our allies and fear to our ennemies, it's perfect.

The American anthem rarely sung well, with so much extra unnecessary flair and cues from pop-music. The tune is also not particularly inspiring, and neither are the words. It's just about being able to see the flag in the battle. No great descriptive words about the nation (other than the end), just looking at a flag.

There's no official way to sing it so everyone gets lost while what ever celebrity goes way too overboard. The anthem should unify the people while singing it not leave the crowd feeling uncomfortable and slightly confused on when the work "land" will end
