Top 10 Most Dangerous Countries In Europe

The Top Ten
1 Albania Albania is a southeastern European country that is slightly larger than Maryland and near Montenegro, Kosovo, Republic of Macedonia, and Greece. The capital is a city called Tirana. Some other major cities in Albania are Durrës, Elbasan, Vlorë, and Shkodër. Albania gained its independence in 1912... read more

I am Albanian. I can undoubtedly say that most of the Albanians are inconsiderate and ignorant, possessing almost no civic education. They can't drive, can't speak or write coherently, have no self respect or self awareness and have extremely low standards and expectations. Tirana, the capital, is a hell hole, the product of a childish narcissistic mayor, now prime minister, where every space is occupied by buildings, creating the perfect labyrinth. It lacks public spaces, sidewalks, green spaces, road signs, and cars drive and park wherever they please. Whenever there's heavy rain there's flooding. People spend most of their time and money in cafes, gossiping and complaining about the government or other Albanians, while behaving the same way. Albanians love honking. They honk to salute, they honk when overtaking other cars, a couple of seconds before the traffic light turns green or just out of habit. If you live in a densely populated area, I suggest you use ear plugs, for there's a horn honking every five seconds. It takes only two cars to create a traffic jam. Drivers stop the car right on the crosswalk, leaving no space for the pedestrians. Crosswalks have only a decorative function. However, if you're a foreigner you might enjoy it, because Albanians love everyone who doesn't speak Albanian, meaning foreigners (let's call it inferiority complex) In my opinion Albania is safe, as long as you don't complain out loud or curse directly at someone (which would be the first impulse considering the outrageous behavior of drivers). I have had the fortune of meeting wonderful Albanian people, but they are few of them. In other words, if you want to visit for a couple of days I suggest you do it, but I don't recommend anyone living here.

2 Russia Russia, or the Russian Federation (RF), is a transcontinental country spanning Eastern Europe and Northern Asia. It is the largest country in the world by area, covering over 17,125,191 square kilometres (6,612,073 sq mi), and encompassing one-eighth of Earth's inhabitable landmass. Russia extends across... read more

People, don't mess with Russians. I am Russian, I live in the U.S., but I am highly patriotic. A lot of us are. People say that Russia in general is like a bear - if you don't bother it, everything will be fine and peaceful, but if you do, you better watch out as it's going to defend itself and its territory. I agree that Russia is dangerous, but that's because the other countries annoy the bear.

Russia. It's Corrupt, doesn't let the people choose their leaders, if you are against the government they jail you. Russia is like North Korea but it is slightly better, and every day Russia harms peace, bringing in soldiers to Ukraine and plans to annex belarus, and it invaded parts of Georgia

3 Ukraine Ukraine is a country in Eastern Europe. It is the second-largest European country, covering approximately 600,000 square kilometres (230,000 sq mi), and has a population of around 40 million people. It is bordered by Russia to the east and northeast; by Belarus to the north; by Poland, Slovakia, and... read more

Ukraine is 1st in corruption, 3rd last in life expectancy, 3rd in poverty, 2nd in crime rate, 2nd last in quality of life, the only european country with a ongoing war on its soil, the holodomor, very poor infrastructure, constant political strife and just overall not very nice.

Ukraine a nutshell: Sasha, let's go back home! Oh wait, it got destroyed by shelling. Damn Ukrainians!

I might be wrong, but I think Ukraine is dangerous cause of Crimea and how Russians are fighting with the Ukrainians

4 Turkey Turkey, officially the Republic of Turkey, is a transcontinental country in Eurasia, mainly in Anatolia in Western Asia, with a smaller portion on the Balkan peninsula in Southeast Europe. Turkey is bordered by eight countries with Greece and Bulgaria to the northwest; Georgia to the northeast; Armenia,... read more

I travelled once around Turkey. And I can say people are absolute maniacs, and of course not secular at all. Istanbul is the only city I would call "secular". But this doesn't remove, for example, horribly miseducated youth stalking blonde girls in the street or intruding in garages to steal the most expensive german cars. In the part of Anatolia most people are sympathizers of extreme Islamism and I couldn't say my religion nor my opinion about Turkey. Yes, that is true. It's actually the worst country I travelled to. I once got almost kidnapped too. I now can imagine how bad would be Middle East.

Since all that happened to me, I no longer consider Turkey as Europe, it is more similar to Afghanistan or Saudi Arabia than, for example, Greece.

5 Bosnia and Herzegovina

What!? It got in the top 10 of countries with the safest kids

Why is this country on this list?

War criminals, drug dealers, murderers, organ traffickers, car thieves, street fighters, arms traffickers & human traffickers: Welcome to Macedonia.

Too many drug dealers, more like every 5th person you see on the street.
In many towns it's peaceful but lacks police protection, you'll see people on bikes/cars driving at 200+ km/h on streets where there can be children playing.

The Bulgarian, slavic Maskedonskija has nothing to do with Ancient Macedon, the fact that they believe otherwise makes them very dangerous.

7 Bulgaria Bulgaria, officially the Republic of Bulgaria, was established in 681 ad. and since then it never changed it's name, which makes it one of the oldest countries in Europe. Located in the Balkan Peninsula between Greece, Turkey, Romania, Serbia, Macedonia and Black Sea. The Capital of Bulgaria is Sofia,... read more

Watch out when you decide to go in Bulgaria by car: THEY STEAL CARS! Bulgarians are no. 1 in Europe concerning car theft. Nothing unusual if you go to take a piss and find no car when you return. There is a car stealing mafia, organised and controlled in joint-venture with the local police. If you have no full-insurance, never visit Bulgaria with your car. Stolen cars in Bulgaria have been reported to be found in other parts of the world. They usually steal your car in minutes, disassembly it into pieces and then sell them on the black market. Bulgarians are not to be trusted. Watch out when you EAT in Bulgaria too: there have been reported numerous cases of alimentary toxic-infection all year round, but mostly during summer in beach resorts. It is a corrupt country full of burglars and desperate profit-digging people.

P.S. There is some good aspect too: Only in Bulgaria girls ask for 5-10 euros to offer oral sex. And I'm not talking about prostitutes.

8 Greece Greece, officially the Hellenic Republic, is a country in Southeast Europe. It is situated on the southern tip of the Balkans, and is located at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and Africa. It's not that dangerous, but years of irresponsible management under the Social Democrats and Reinfeldt-Moderates have tarnished what was once one of the safest countries in the world. You'd be sorry if you walked out in the night in the cities, or for that matter, out in any of the suburbs at all. The countryside is still safe, and daytime there aren't too many issues, but it's safe to say it's the worst country in Northern Europe

Sweden is not dangerous. All you need to make sure of is to use the buddy system when bringing your kids here.

Lived there for 4 years. The Romanians are poor but mostly friendly welcoming people. The ones you need to watch out for are the Romani. These are travellers of Indian decent and have most of the wealth, mainly down to begging and crime. If a Romanian is involved in crime its usually through necessity to survive. However I was once beat up in a bookies by the owner and 3 other guys for winning on a few dog races.

Bucharest, Romania " Violent and organised crime is quite low in Romania's capital, but the city ranked 79th because of widespread corruption and petty crime.

18 Ireland Formed in 1916 after the Easter uprising, Ireland is a small country with a population of roughly 5 million.

Ireland has become very dangerous over the last 10 years mainly in city’s like Dublin Cork and Limerick due to drugs and increased crime rates there are people being robbed and murdered every day. It is very common for people as young as 13 to go missing and be found dead a few days later.

Ireland isn't dangerous! Well it depends where you go, but it's mostly safe!

I'm dutch and live in a small village I agree sure its safe but cities like Amsterdam and Rotterdam might be more dangerous and some crime since it's a big city well duh but its safe in general atlas much safer than most eastern Europeans countries!

This country has one of the lowest crime rates in the whole world the worst thing you'll see is some kids not cleaning up their mess and I'm not even joking

21 Hungary Hungary is a sovereign state in Europe. It is situated in the Carpathian Basin and is bordered by Slovakia to the north, Romania to the east, Serbia to the south, Croatia to the southwest, Slovenia to the west, Austria to the northwest, and Ukraine to the northeast.

The murder rate in Hungary is more than double than in the Western European countries, but it is still lower than in the US, and gunpoint is very rare too, they use knives and axes. Beware of pickpocket on public transport, never leave anything in the car, don't walk with phone in the hand. Villages in the north-eastern part should be absolutely avoided, due to street justice and lynching.

Racist, homophobic, alcoholic, intolerant, neo-nazi, need I say more? Let's not forget how easily you can get your hands on drugs, just ask the nearest homeless person, which you find on literally every street corner. Human trafficking is an issue too, especially in Budapest. Pick a better country, seriously. (this is coming from a Hungarian who's lived here for years unfortunately.)
