    Many people think that Japan is dangerous because of World War II actions and because its relations with other Asian countries, but Japan still has one of the lowest crime rates in the world.

    You are semi-correct, but its not Mississippi that is the problem. Take away the homicide rate of the half-dozen worst "inner cities", Chicago and Detroit being the absolute worst, and the US is an extremely safe place. True that hapless tourists can accidentally wander where they should never go, but a bit of research ahead of time, and really just being aware of your surroundings will steer you clear of bad areas.

    Except for some states (*Cough* Mississippi *Cough*) this place is pretty safe and most of the people on the top tens are Americans so they can explain to you why better than I can do.

    Yes China is not the best or the freest place to live in, but it's pretty safe there if you live in developed places like Shanghai, Bei Jing (and Hong Kong if you consider it a part of China)

    Many think so because of the conflict. But as an Israeli I can say that it is very safe here (especially in Tel Aviv and Ramat Gan).
