Top 10 Best Nintendo DS Games

The Top Ten
1 Mario Kart DS

I got this game and I am the master at it. I love this game. It is so awesome, and it is Mario Kart, at least spell the most awesome one right! I have finished all the missions. They were so hard!

It is great! Graphics are horrible, but that's what makes it fun! DS was huge, but I do not have a DS. I have a new 2DS, so I can play 3DS games and DS games. So, this is my favorite DS game.

I can still find enjoyment in it to this day, and I've been playing it since I was five.

2 New Super Mario Bros.

New Super Mario Bros. carries so many memories with it, and I will never forget the first time I played it. It is so simple and to the point, yet it requires skill and knowledge of the game. Unlike the original Super Mario Bros., it takes hard work and more than five minutes to complete.

This is a brilliant game. It makes you want to keep playing it to complete the game. There are plenty of unique levels. It was a tough decision between this game and Mario Kart, but this game has more playing time. Overall, a very exciting game.

3 Super Mario 64 DS

Many compare this game to the original as if it is a dumb copy, but I can assure you it is not. This game has many added secrets, different mechanics, minigames, and a small multiplayer mode. Truly an amazing game.

Man, just the fact that there is a port of the amazing original for the DS makes this far better than 80 percent of all DS games! One of my all-time favorites.

Best DS game of all time. I wish I could find an actual copy of the game rather than the one on my broken R4 card. They are too rare.

4 Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story

Bowser's Inside Story remains my favorite M&L game to this day! It's extremely fun, quirky, and it's got a great story as well as memorable characters. Not to mention the final boss music is absolutely killer. In some ways, I can see why some people think Partners in Time is better, but to me, this game is hard to beat.

Seriously? 29?! For THIS game? You must be kidding! This is one of the best games I've ever played! How in the world can this be all the way down here?!

AWESOME GAME!

I remember playing this game until midnight! It has a special place in my heart. Pun not intended.

5 Mario Party DS

The best... And the cutest after you defeat Bowser. Also, who wouldn't love this game? End of discussion.

6 The World Ends With You

TWEWY is a great game that has yet to receive the attention and sequel that it deserves. Both your standard RPG and not, it's a refreshingly different kind of game that takes a couple of overused elements and spins them in a way that hooks your interest and keeps a hold on it through to the end.

One of my only problems with the game is when it can't figure out which pin I'm trying to use, and that's not a big problem.

It's obvious that not many people have played this game because that is the only excuse for this amazing game to be in 22nd place.

7 Pokemon Black 2

If you are a Pokemon fan and played the original White, you will love this game. It has much better graphics than the other Pokemon games, and the story is very good. The rival is impressive, and N returning was awesome. Unlike other "sequels," this is actually one with a different yet connected storyline.

However, Platinum beats this game by about a meter. No, a millimeter.

This game has an amazing story. You should try playing it even if you're not a Pokemon fan. I'm sure it will change your opinion about Pokemon games.

8 Sonic Rush

Definitely one of the best Sonic games out there. Plus, it includes the debut of Blaze the Cat.

9 Kirby Super Star Ultra

One of the greatest games to grace Nintendo's library remastered to perfection, yet it's at 49. I am shaking my head, seeing this placed under games like Super Princess Peach.

Kirby, Kirby, Kirby, that's his name as you know.

Kirby, Kirby, Kirby, he's the star of the show.

He's more than you think, he's got maximum pink, Kirby, Kirby, Kirby's the one!

48?! This is an improvement on Kirby's flagship game! Only 48th? Well, we all have different strokes.

10 The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

Though it is easily one of the least liked games in the series, this DS sequel to the GameCube's Wind Waker is, in my opinion, an alright game. It can get a little tedious, especially the Temple of the Ocean King, but my enjoyment of the game's other elements overshadowed that in the end.

The Ocean Temple was a problem, sure, but that doesn't stop this game from being one of the best. I think people underestimate it simply because it's for the DS. Despite the meh graphics and stylus usage, it's awesome for about everything else. I would recommend it to anyone.

The Contenders
11 Pokemon Diamond

Pokemon Diamond is a fundamental game for anyone who owns a DS. This masterpiece provides hours of gameplay and entertainment, easily making it number 1.

OMG! These games are so freaking amazing! They were so unique, and I finished them in 2 days! Amazing! Amazing! Amazing!

How can you put this game behind Phantom Hourglass?! Phantom Hourglass sucked! (Not to offend Phantom Hourglass fans)

12 Animal Crossing: Wild World

I love this game! It might not have all of the features that Animal Crossing: New Leaf has, but it is my favorite game in the series because it was the first Animal Crossing game I ever got.

Animal Crossing: Wild World is one of the best because you can get the villagers' pics! At the moment, I have Camofrog, Boone, Big Top, Marina, Opal, Nibbles, Puddles, and Nan!

13 Pokemon HeartGold Version

Way better than Gold, Silver, and Crystal. You can even pick the 1st and 3rd gen starter Pokemon and have Pokemon follow you.

Best remake and Pokemon game in general. Love it.

This Pokemon game has both Kanto and Johto leagues. You can catch many Pokemon, so it is fun!

14 Pokemon White 2
15 Mario & Luigi: Partners In Time

This game is always better than the old M&L: BIS. This is the best Mario RPG ever, tying with Super Paper Mario and Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars. There's nothing to hate about this game unless you are talking about not being good at it or Princess Daisy/Pauline not replacing Princess Peach, who needs her overly feminine voice changed.

This game is so awesome that it deserves to be top 1, not Mario Kart DS.

This game, guys, it has the best story ever! I've completed this game two times and it never gets boring! On my third game, I'm on Yoshi's Island at the moment, making it up to the cliff top so I can destroy Baby Bowser! Also, it is not Bowser Jr. in this game, just as there is no Mario or Luigi Jr.!

16 Scribblenauts

Pure innovation, though Super Scribblenauts was infinitely better than the problematic original version.

I love Scribblenauts Unlimited the best.

17 Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures
18 Pokemon White
19 WarioWare D.I.Y.

The game has Wario's name in the title. How bad could it be?

A very underrated, amazing video game.

20 Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
21 Super Princess Peach

A surprisingly fun and underrated game, despite the lack of difficulty. One of the best DS games I've played.

A surprisingly fun and underrated game. Definitely one of the best DS games.

22 Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days

Though it does get a bit of grief from the Kingdom Hearts fan community, Days is actually one of my favorite games in the series and one of the first games I managed to beat. The missions and battle system aren't all that great, in my opinion, but they aren't completely terrible, and the story more than makes up for it. I highly recommend this entire series.

If you've played the first three games in the series (Kingdom Hearts, Chain of Memories, and Kingdom Hearts II), then you should pick this game up - along with a box of tissues. If you have yet to play any of the series, please give the games a try.

23 Kirby Squeak Squad
24 The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

Expanding on Phantom Hourglass's more puzzle-based design, Spirit Tracks presented harder difficulty, a well-made story, and a fantastic soundtrack - three things Phantom Hourglass failed to do.

A sequel of sorts to Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks was a definite improvement, changing some of the things PH did wrong and keeping some of what it did right. And Zelda's actually useful this time!

Improved upon Phantom Hourglass in literally every regard - overworld, story, gameplay, design, side quests, etc.

Fun, addicting game!

25 Pokemon Platinum

Best game on DS, and it is sadly underrated. It's awesome. I recommend you try it if you haven't already.
