Top 10 Things that Make Nintendo Better Than Microsoft & Sony

I get that this is a list for Nintendo fanboys, but this list is too ridiculous. Now there are things on this list that are true about Nintendo( Great exclusives, great soundtracks for games, games for a variety of demographics, they work with other major companies), but several of the things on this list is true with Sony and Microsoft. Also, there are several things on this list that is 100% untrue. How does Sony or Microsoft copy Nintendo? A hero saving someone or something is not something that started with Nintendo. Also, Nintendo fanboys should stop saying that Sony and Microsoft only got violent games. Gran Turismo, Forza Motorsport, Crash Bandicoot, Little Big Planet, Spyro, Ape Escape, Pac-Man World, and several indie games are not violent. Also, how does Nintendo have way more variety? Can a Nintendo fanboy even name 10 Nintendo games that aren't Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Pokemon, Kirby, or Metroid? The Playstation consoles got a huge number of big games that aren't even ...more
Nintendo games have something unique to them while PlayStation and Xbox games just do not cut it. I can definitely see this with the recent releases of games on the Switch such as Splatoon 2 and Mario Odyssey. Yes Splatoon 2 is not in 4K Resolution but what makes Splatoon 2 much more unique compared to other Third Person Shooters is how fun and innovative it is. You will not see any other Third Person Shooter games where you shoot ink and refill your weapon by submerging in ink. This just shows how innovative Nintendo is compared to Microsoft and Sony.
Microsoft and Sony, with the majority of games - excluding notable exceptions - are the exact opposite of maturity, despite claims and common stigma.
If you can learn to appreciate them, games like Pokémon, Mario, Zelda, etcetera, will provide you with infinitely deeper enjoyment and will stick with you for more than just a decade. You will get more from a Nintendo game than you ever will from the majority of Microsoft and Sony console games.
And the soundtracks for the games are masterpieces in their own rights. There's that, too.
All of Nintendo's games are colourful (except SSBB but there's a reason) and even the most serious games have a bit of hilarity.
Nintendo is always coming up with new and interesting ideas for their consoles and games. For example, when everyone thought that motion gaming was the only way to go, Nintendo releases the Wii you gamepad. Whether it's successful or not, it is still a pretty good idea.
Xbox and PlayStation, on the other hand, are clearly running out of game and software ideas. Almost every new game released for the Xbox and PlayStation these days are the fourth or fifth sequels to FPS games from ten years ago, just with higher-resolution graphics, new guns, and more blood.
This makes sense. For those of you that grew up with the NES, and had a little thing called R.O.B. , you probably remember that he was only playable for two games. They were Gyromite, and Stack-Up. Wasn't R.O.B. pretty cool? Nintendo had to make him so people will forget about the video game crash of 1983, and people will finally stop thinking that all video games are garbage. Did you know R.O.B. appears in Mario Kart DS, and in Super Smash Bros. (Brawl, 3DS, and Wii U)?
PlayStation had the same controls and games since 1994. Xbox had the same controls since 2001. Plus Xbox copies off of Sony who also takes Nintendo's stuff like VR. If you could remember the Virtual Boy from 1995 even though it was poorly sold Nintendo had the first step to Virtual Reality. On a related note Nintendo is almost 130 years old and also the new Switch.
Sony innovates very little. The PlayStation controllers to this day just look like upgraded versions of the last one with little to no changes. Also they stole a lot of stuff from Nintendo like:
The wii motion controls (psmove)
Super Smash Bros (PlayStation all stars)
Mario kart (PlayStation racing)
I can't wait for the PlayStation switch. It'll probably be called PlayStation Swap.
That's true. Back when the Nintendo Entertainment System was popular, there was an accessorie called the Power Glove. It was very innovative, and it brought motion control gaming. Unfortunately, it was a flop. Years later, Nintendo brought back motion control gaming with the Nintendo Wii. It was so innovative, Sony & Microsoft decided to steal Nintendo's ideas & create PlayStation Move for the PlayStation Move, and Xbox Kinect for the Xbox 360 & Xbox One. What a bunch of copycats!
And why are you guys stopping at motion controls? Remember the flop that was PlayStation Battle Stars Royale? Looked a lot like Super Smash Bros. but with Sackboy and Kratos and blood. The only reason Microsoft didn't make one was because they don't have that much icons besides Master Chief. Then Sony tried to take over the handheld market with the Psp and the Vita and we all saw how that turned out. I could go on but I think you get my point.
They literally are incapable of making anything new. The lazy bosses at the top are more interested in making big bucks, than providing cool, inclusive games.
This is what sets Nintendo at such a high level. Sony and Microsoft sucks, frankly.
I have nothing against all of these companies. I actually love the Xbox 360 and its Kinect, heck, I even have one, but I think Microsoft was trying to be too close to the Wii as well as Playstation with PS Move. It's like the Wii Remote, but it's more round, more flattened buttons, and has a colored ball on the top.
I ask the two of these to try and put more originality into their consoles and products, even though they're great companies.
Nintendo actually cares about gameplay, iconic atmosphere, variety, and innovation. Microsoft and Sony only care about overhyping graphics and doing anything they can to get more and more money. Examples: Nintendo introduced motion control with the Wii, has a large variety of games (from the social simulation of Animal Crossing to the action and puzzles of The Legend of Zelda), and probably has the most iconic characters in gaming (Mario, Kirby, Link, etc.).
Very true, but using this as an argument in favor of Nintendo doesn't actually work. Sony and Microsoft, whether you like them or not, have made plenty of games that have both amazing gameplay and amazing graphics. And honestly, Nintendo also manages to do that sometimes.
That is true. Now, take FIFA 02 and also take The Wind Waker. Which one aged better if you are talking about graphics? Nintendo knows what they are doing.
Their only objective. I actually don't know why this is low.
Yep, they haves best music, better than Touhou (even though I am huge fan of Touhou, and also second best musics in my opinion). My Favourites OST: Pokemon, Mario Series, Donkey Dong Series, Legend of Zelda (I listen Zelda's music once berfore on Youtube and it's sounds beautiful), Fire Emblem, Yo-kai Watch (please don't hurts me, I just loves Yo-kai Watch) and Kirby Series
So do games that are not made by Nintendo. The soundtracks aren't even made by the companies themselves, but by artists and you Nintendo fanboys think the opposite and automatically brand their music as crap just to make Nintendo look better.
Nintendo has the best music in the biz. In games like The Legend of Zelda, being stuck is a lot more tolerable with a beautiful symphony that matches the mood of situation.
Have you seen how much music there is in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate? There's over 700 new remixes, past remixes, and original pieces of music. Clearly Nintendo knows that the music in a game is almost as important as being able to see the game.
(P.S. The music in Splatoon is amazing).
Just like Sony and Microsoft. Again, all of the arguments on this list are just childish and the product of biased fans.
Earthbound, Mario, Sonic, Rayman, Pikmin, Zelda. There will be no stopping in the list for exclusives in Nintendo.
Yeah, Xbox fanboy, there are just a bunch of shooters, rpg's and racing games that are exclusive for exbox, nintendo has a large variety!
So does Sony. Sony has been kicking @ss recently with their exclusives.
Jumped on a bandwagon: Miiverse to Facebook...kind of
Pulled the bandwagon: Motion Controls. Return of old classics (Virtual Console). And maybe soon the idea of the 3D Graphics (3DS) and the hybrid console (Nintendo Switch)
Nintendo doesn't do things that other companies are doing just because their idea sold well. Nintendo innovates and tries to make their own successful ideas.
Nintendo tries to make each of their series original. Sony and Microsoft just do what they know people will eat up. Nintendo has made platformers, racing, RPGs, sports, shooters and puzzle games, just to name a few.
That I agree on. At least, they haven't jumped on the Battle Royal badwagon like literally every other developers.
Nintendo had their fair share of problems with their consoles too. Take the Switch for example: they didn't make the joy cons correctly at first, so people who bought the console would experience problems with them. Of course, Nintendo did the right thing and fixed the problem quickly. And, again, this argument doesn't work against Microsoft and Sony because they ALSO fix their consoles if there ever is a problem.
I don't know about Sony, but Microsoft products have a tendency to not work right when purchased (that is including pc and Xbox). Nintendo products are built to last and just about every Nintendo product works properly on the first day with the rare exception (my DS doesn't have internet access, but it doesn't interfere with gameplay).
This guy on YouTube bought his first Xbox one. The a button didn't work (the controller costed billions to research) and got it replaced and the new one got turned on and turned off instantly
Yea, like all the issues that came with the nintendo switch, and the consoles that are bending.
Nintendo consoles, on average, last about 5-7 years of daily use before they break, which is usually long enough to last until the next console is released.
Xbox and PlayStation consoles, however, on average, only last about 4-5 years. On top of that, there are some major flaws in their designs. For example, if an Xbox 360 is picked up or moved while reading a disc, the console will grind the disc and make deep scratches in its surface, making the disc unreadable. Both the Xbox and PlayStation consoles have a ring of death of some sort.
I'm Definitely With You On this. I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally dropped my Switch,...And it's still fully intact. It's awesome really.
Even when the console does break, the next one comes out and there's backwards compatibility.
I still have my Original Xbox console from 2003, and my Xbox 360 console from 2010.
Nintendo has helped develop over hundreds of possibly thousands of games! While Microsoft & Sony haven't done Jack-Squat since 2001 (Microsoft) and 1995 (Sony).
He is a literal GOD. His innovative, cool ideas have saved Nintendo, and his fun personality shines in all of his games. Microsoft and Sony have no one like him, or their games would be better.
He created The Legend of Zelda series which is the best video game series of all time! Also, Link is the coolest character ever!
He created almost all of the Nintendo characters! We should really thank him!
Shigeru Miyamoto is a legend and my idol!
The nice thing about Nintendo is they don't have a ring of death. They would rather sell durable Switches, than hear their customers complaining about a broken item.
Again very assenine. This statement makes it sound like every PlayStation has died when in fact its defect rate is below the acceptable number.
When you play for a long time, the Xbox 360 will be overheated and it will surely cause damage.
Except for red light of out of batteries...
There is an entire library of videogames that are available to you when you get your wii (sadly not yet for the wii or 3DS). But even so it annoys me that people don't realize the full potential of having a backlog of so many games on their Wii. From Mario Bros, Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Final Fantasy I, II, I, Megaman, and so on.
Too bad you can't get it anymore on the Switch. The only actual way you CAN play old games is getting the online membership, and even then you can only play a few NES games with 2 or 3 added every month.
It's great, but incredibly overpriced compared to the equivalent stores of the Playstation and Xbox.
The Switch doesn't have it. Instead you gotta get a online membership.
They made so many amazing controllers. They invented the D-pad with the Game & Watch, DK Bongos with the GameCube, the shoulder buttons with the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and the analog stick with the Nintendo 64. How do you like that Sony & Microsoft? Try to do something more innovative that those.
Agreed. PS1, PS2 and PS3 controllers weren't comfortable. The PS4 and X-box One controllers however are arguably better.
Yeah, Nintendo doesn' just sit around doing nothing'. The give us the games!
Nintendo wii actually has cool channels and n64 has all those paks like rumble pak when all sony & Microsoft does copy Nintendo and copy each other like Kinect & playstation move and lets be honest, Nintendo makes way cooler gaming experiences when sony & microsoft just makes those lame controllers.
Nintendo invented selfies with their Game Boy Camera. I only take selfies with Nintendo consoles that have cameras you can use to take pictures.
I mean, take the Mariokart wheels. Pure genius. And the controllers? Awesome. Ambios? Sounds great.
Is the virtual boy's headache machine cool?
After the crash Nintendo came out with the NES and rebuilt the gaming industry with great games
With out Nintendo gaming would be dead.
Nintendo is a hero
I am glad they did!
Sony and Microsoft have a lot of variety as well, plenty of different games and franchises from every video game genres are on their consoles. While Nintendo has great games, they haven't done much to provide players with variety. They don't even bother creating new characters anymore, they just use Mario over and over again. Want a fighting game? Here have Smash with every character you've seen before! Want a racing game? Have Mario-Kart, with yet again the same old characters! (Those games aren't bad, but Nintendo is really milking the heck out of the Mario franchise).
They have so many genres of games, I love them all! As for Sony and Microsoft, they do have different genres of games but pretty much all of them are overshadowed by FPS, Racing and Sports games.
DEFINITELY. Nintendo always comes up with new characters
In the 90s, Fox, Kirby...
In the early 2000s, Paper Mario, Master Hand and them
In 2005-2010, Miis were added
In 2011-present, Inklings... and more!
Nintendo doesn't just remake the same game and just say "Oh, here's a new game! It says 'sequel' on it! " They actually MAKE new games and new content/
Exactly. It's way better than the Boring Madden and Fifa games. These are so repetitive!
The fact is, though many PlayStation and Xboxes players complain Nintendo is for babies, is a teenager swearing and throwing a headset across the room more of a baby? Rather than a six year old playing happily with siblings, who congratulates people when they win.
I mean, seriously.
Also, the games themselves are more mature. Mariokart is a fun racing game, whereas Call of Duty is simply so violent it disgusts me. No contest.
While it is true that Nintendo is aimed at a family audience... that actually is part of the reason that the maturity of the audience far surpasses its competitors, even regarding the fact that there are far younger players on Nintendo platforms. A younger gamer doesn't get a Nintendo console for the same reason their friends may get the PlayStation or Xbox. You don't get any playground cred for being a Splatoon pro, young society impresses the idea that games like Call of Duty are "real games", whereas Mario and whatnot are for "babies". A young game will get a Nintendo console solely for the games, and not to bolster a pointless cycle of misconception and unseasoned disregard. In a way, that is far more mature than stealing your mums credit card for PS+ and screaming childish profanities over the microphone.
I kind of disagree on this one and this is simple, even if I grew with Sony, I don't mind playing Nintendo games at all, in fact, I can find them equally fun.
it's just sad that console wars divided us, to the point that we can make assumption on other company fans.
I get along very well with some Nintendo fans, maybe because we didn't spend our time to insulting each-other?
yes, there is the trolls, aggressive people, but every gaming company has that, and just because a gamer fan of a company is a douche, doesn't mean "they are all the same", you can meet nice other fans from other companies, worth a try.
and before I forget, no, I didn't grow with the Call of Duty or Grand Theft Auto trends, and the online multiplayer where kids scream insults didn't existed, in fact, it is more their parents than other gamers fault, they buy a game that is clearly not for the age of their kids, because their kids friends "have their Call of Duty/Grand Theft Auto", even ...more
How? Most Nintendo fans I see on this website and in the real world are just mean, closed-minded and biased. All the arguments they give to prove Nintendo is the best, like they have to justify that for some reason, all their arguments are simply weak and basically all down to their personal preferences or things they consider as "facts".
Same thing for Playstation and X-box. What's your point?
Xbox and PS have better graphics, but Nintendo's graphics are fine and whose graphics are best only matters when you want to buy a multiplatform game. Xbox and PS have online, but I still don't get the big deal of it, plus, the Wii you has good online so now it doesn't really matter. Nintendo doesn't play DVDs or Blurays, but I still don't get why that ever even started. I'd much rather see DVD playing on a handheld console. Unlike these things Sony and Microsoft seem to think people want, Nintendo gives gamers something actually helpful, backwards compatibility. And yeah, Nintendo didn't start with backwards compatibility until the DS and Wii, and the Wii you doesn't play GameCube games, but at least they have backwards compatibility. Microsoft and Sony haven't done it at all, and I'd expect them to more. They have way more customers who had a console the generation before, and they're names change way less. Xbox, Xbox 360. PS2, PS3. GameCube, Wii. Which two consoles would you expect ...more
I mean, definite yes for past systems and VC, but the Switch has a few growing pains it needs to work out, but other than that, yeah!
This isn't 100% true but Nintendo made it easy.
Xbox One: Am I a joke to you?
I know it's not a big deal, I'm always baffled as to why people don't find a new console special enough even though there's a ton of new games. But still, Microsoft taking the Xbox, making it bigger and less stupid looking, and adding a random number to it, as well as Sony never so much as making a new controller, it just really seems like every few years their presidents say "Oh, let's barely do anything, our fans will do anything.
Nintendo actually take risks. Not only with their games, but with their consoles. The fact that some of the execs took a pay cut because of poor sales must say a lot. Whilst Microsoft and Sony compete to see who can make the most powerful box, Nintendo actually give you a reason to choose them, and are willing to take risks, rather than play it safe.
The 3ds (a hand held! ) sells more on a weekly basis than Xbox one and the wii you out sold it even if the wii you got badly marketed. The psvita can't even get 10% of 3ds sales. a ds which only has 2-6 me of ram is 2nd most sold console ever and the 3 best selling worldwide games belong to Nintendo and in a top 10 list Nintendo had 50%. Nintendo for the win!
The 3ds is more convenient than PS Vita due to 3D graphics and it has 3D camera to show better photos. It also has motion sensors that is great. Also, it uses a stylus than your fingers. I think it's better with stylus because using your fingers will get sore. So, 3ds and Nintendo I would vote for.
On the Wii U, Nintendo actually came up with this idea since Nintendo is an awesome game system. While in Sony and Microsoft, they do not have the gamepad which is really good. If your parents are watching T.V. , no problem play on the gamepad, while on PS4 and Xbox One, you just have to wait a few more hours!
One reason I think the Wii u is the best gaming console, Splatoon, I mean there is no game like it. I never wanted to play a shooter game because they were to violent, but then Splatoon came out and I was like, what is that? So I got it for my birthday and it was the best game ever, with a costumable character with great gear, colourful and NON VIOLENT. Do I need to say more
It wasn't hated. It was just a poor execution and critical confusion.
Very underrated console.
Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of time may not be the best games ever like everybody says but they are amazing games that are as good as everybody says (just not the best. ) Yes, PlayStation has the best fifth generation video game, metal gear solid, but that and Final Fantasy VII are the only PlayStation 1 games that actually rival the Nintendo 64!
It had a lot of expensive addons but what console doesn't plus golden eye 007, kirby crystal shards, Mario 64, ocarina of time, star fox 64, super smash bros 64, Pokemon stadium (don't judge), Mario kart 64, Mario party, resident evil, paper Mario and my all time favorite majora's mask. These are my all time favorites and some of them I'm bias towards because I've owned them for almost 16 years! and grew up with them.
This one I don't agree with as much because it didn't win its generation but it was a great and revolutionary console.
Reasons Why the Nintendo 64 Sucks is a list you guys must check out!
The people at Nintendo are innovators. They set into motion most of a consoles characteristics today, and they break out of what is normal, to instead what is original, and creative. Things that other companies can only try to mimic. For example, the standard shoulder buttons on most modern controllers originated from the SNES controller, and the Wii's motion controls were so popular, Sony tried to copy them with the PS Move. Sometimes this creativity will succeed, and other times, a new idea will get shunned. But that doesn't change the fact that they aren't afraid to break the boundaries, and make not just a standard console, but an innovative one that will shape the future of gaming.
I mean, take Kirby. A pink blob that inhales baddies to take their powers? That is genius. And for goodness sake, they invented drifting in Mariokart 8 deluxe, which makes challenge for experienced players.
I agree. Sony might have have Call of Duty at their side but Nintendo has more color and they have really good taste in games. Period
Nintendo innovates, Sony and Microsoft imitate.
