People seem to think everywhere that hating what's popular and liking what's underground makes them cool or shine out of the crowd. Among metalheads, hating Metallica is MORE POPULAR than being a fan, so if you want to look as unique by having a different opinion, hating Metallica isn't your thing. It's like supporting (in an imaginary situation) China against Taiwan because "Taiwan already have so much power" (no offense to either countries).
Just because Metallica is the most popular metal band doesn't mean that only posers like them. Metallica is both loved and hated, if you ask me.

This band is boring, Uninteresting and Don't bring anything new to the table and are musically unimpressive, they aren't even a metal band they are just a Modern Alt Hard Rock band that people call a metal band and call other people an "Eltlist" if someone doesn't like them or says they aren't a metal band. in my opinion they deserve the hate.
They can be generic at times, but just listen to The Stage, which is a slightly different approach

I don't consider them a metal band although I do agree somewhat overhated because that Self Titled album wasn't as bad as people made it out to be (not saying it was good)

Just realize that the majority of people don't listen to music for enjoying brutality and for shock value. Absurd logic of Cannibal Corpse fans:
a) they like the band partially or mainly for its shock value and like to talk it out loud that they shock everyone
b) when somebody is really shocked they aren't okay with it.
Saying Cannibal Corpse is not bad because they don't take their lyrics seriously is like saying fake gangsta rappers aren't bad because they don't participate in gang wars in reality
People who hate this band never understand that the music isn't real, and that the band members aren't intending to harm anyone in real life, what the band does is tell horror stories because they base their lyrics off real stories and horror movies, and I find it interesting when they get shocked over their album covers and I'm just sitting here going what did you expect from a band called Cannibal Corpse? Sunshine Lollipops and Rainbows? Flowers?
