33 Dimmu Borgir
Dimmu Borgir is a Norwegian symphonic black metal band from Oslo, Norway, formed in 1993. The name is derived from Dimmuborgir, a volcanic formation in Iceland, the name of which means "dark cities" or "dark castles/fortresses" in Icelandic, Faroese and Old Norse.
Despite being an old school black metal fan, I must admit that Dimmu Borgir has got three rock-solid albums following Stormblåst viz. Enthrone Darkness Triumphant, Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia & Spiritual Black Dimension. Just because they've changed their direction doesn't mean they suck. The problem is people (elitists) don't listen to these albums objectively and have trained their brain not to develop broader perspective, if things sound different.Personally, I would've not dug deeper into Dimmu's discography, if all their outputs following this sounded the same (and also never would've gotten into Black Metal in the first place). I agree to a certain extent that Abrahadabra is over-produced but to say it's bad is being ignorant regarding music. People have preferences for one sound over the other. There are people who simply prefer Symphonic Black Metal over other sub-genres and it makes no sense if you think they're a poser for simply liking it just because it doesn't ...more - Arhaan95
