2 Joe Frazier Joseph William Frazier, nicknamed "Smokin' Joe", was an American professional boxer who competed from 1965 to 1981. He reigned as the undisputed heavyweight champion from 1970 to 1973, and as an amateur won a gold medal at the 1964 Summer Olympics.

Of the 37 bouts he fought, nothing beats his three unforgettable bouts with Muhammad Ali. But for me, it's February 16, 1970 at New York's Madison Square Garden. That night, he finally filling in the blank of who is the undisputed heavyweight championship. He fought Jimmy Ellis that night and for the first 3 rounds it was a close bout. Then in round 4, the real Joe Frazier came out as he knocked down Ellis 2 times, but the Second one was magical as his left hook knocked Ellis as the round ended. Ellis got up but was unable to go on, and Frazier became the champ.
