1 Jeanne d'Arc (Alter)

Jalter is without a doubt a magnificent Breakout Character in terms of gameplay and concept. As an Avenger-class Servant, she has a base damage multiplier of 1.1x. Just by attack stat alone, she's easily considered to be the biggest single damage dealer in the game. She's no Berserker and all and doesn't have any class bonus against any other classes other than Ruler, but her aggressively versatile attack damage makes it worth rolling for her when you really need a hand against bosses with high HP.

Wow! Jalter got a hot Berserker Alter Servant version for the Servant Summer Festival event! Can't wait to get her Swimsuit version 2 years from now as I write this.

3 Sherlock Holmes

Elementary, my dear. So he's only been in the game for a few weeks or months since his first release in FGO's 2nd Anniversary campaign, so only time will tell if he'll rank with Jeanne d'Arc as one of the best Ruler-class Servants in the game. Like Jeanne, he does have resistance to all the 7 standard Servant classes in the game, but don't expect him to be a huge damage dealer as expected for all Ruler-class Servants. Though, when I look at his skills, I'd say they're more versatile and efficient than Jeanne's skills (the vanilla one, not Jalter). But looking at his Noble Phantasm, he's phenomenal at decreasing his enemies' defenses everywhere from lowering their stats, rendering their defense buffs useless, and piercing their invulnerability. Hmm, I might consider saving up for him in the years to come for the NA server.

What else to say about the sole consulting detective? As a Ruler, he only takes extra damage from Berserker and Avenger while reduces damage taken by almost all other classes. His skill set is very odd for a Ruler/former Caster, but that's because you probably haven't ready all of Conan Doyle's stories. Despite the odd skills he has, they work in conjunction very well, especially when the team is build on art crits servants. Out of all Rulers, Holmes has the highest ATK damage while his NP potentially further increases the stats that can make Holmes a very powerful servant. With his NP gain that can rival to that of Merlin, you can spam and stack his NP to the point that he can deal tons of damage in one turn, totally wipe out the entire enemy party if you know how to use him well.

However, every servant has a flaw, even with the already-broken Merlin. Holmes, despite his NP spam and high ATK output, is very difficult to get a hold if you are a casual FGO player. His skill set, ...more

Best ruler with usefull skillset and highest atk than other ruler. Perfect in art team, strong in critical team. Arguably he is the best ruler ever.

4 Jeanne d'Arc

Jeanne isn't exactly a powerhouse like her Alter counterpart (thanks a lot, Gilles de Rais), but what this Jeanne lacks in strength compared to Jalter makes up for it with her high defense and HP. Something that Jalter herself lacks in. Going back to Jeanne, she along with Zhuge Liang and Merlin are important assets of support for keeping your team alive in FGO. While her skills are nothing to behold compared to other Servants, her Noble Phantasm is a lifesaver in granting invincibility, increasing defense, and recovering HP for 2 turns. While she still suffers the self-stun side effect in the NA server, once it catches up to the JA server, she'll no longer have such a side effect and will have it replaced with removing all of her party's debuffs. So for those who already have Jeanne, you're already at an advantage.
