I know it's too old for most of you to have heard it or for it to come to mind immediately but if you have a serious interest in this list's concept you really should give this a listen.
"Can it be that it was all so simple then
Or has time rewritten every line...
What's too painful to remembers simply choose to forget..." - Billyv
From the Piano intro that gives you the chills from the lyrics
Reminds me of Frankstein
Its not really sad but it could make you cry
Only 2 Porcupine Tree songs and no Steven Wilson songs? Why do I even live on this planet anymore? - SevenTreeTool
THIS NEEDS TO BE IN THE TOP 10. It is a lot sadder than anything listed on the top ten in my opinion. This song is about the bass player (Pete Wentz) promising the lead Singer (Patrick Stump) that he would never commit suicide.
Donnie is a famous Singer that committed suicide by jumping out of a hotel. In the bridge lyrics "I will never end up like him, but behind my back I already am" means he will never end up like Donnie by killing himself. - AwesomeKillJoy
I love this song, it's my favourite
Really, this is so unbelievably sad and particularly relevant to anyone who has lost a parent. Your heart must be of stone to get through it without crying or welling up. - fruitslicer2000
This is a very song, especially to us Bo fans. Basically, the song is about him being unhappy and leaving his comedy and singing career behind. The part that always slams the hardest are 'Hey look ma, I made it. Are you happy? ' but the entire song makes me personally feel like I've been hit, like by a bus. Very emotional. This can even be emotional for people who aren't fans of Bo Burnham as well, the lyrics and instrumental of the song are very sad, and even more so when compared to his usual upbeat music. I hope that Bo is happy now. This song is also good for considering how happy you really are and the illusions in life. He constantly asks 'Are you happy? ' which can be emotionally draining. - LemonComputer
Surprised this isn't here yet. I cry every time I listen to this. - Hotheart123
This song is really sad. You just have to listen to it.
I can't help but feel sotry for X when I hear this although his songs are nasty and the production is disorted but this wasn't too bad...2/5 - AlphaQ
"I cry everytime I hear this song"
Matt Weddle, the lead singer, holds nothing back and sings with uncanny passion. It might be the most beautiful song I've ever laid ears to...
