81 The River - Bruce Springsteen The River - Bruce Springsteen
82 Let It Be - The Beatles Let It Be - The Beatles

I just love anything by The Beatles. Have done since I was little. - Britgirl

I don't think it is really sad, its just slow and peaceful.

There is such a deepness to this song.

83 Apologize - OneRepublic Apologize - OneRepublic

I love this song, no one knows how much this song makes me feel this song is just saying even if you are sorry I have probably moved on so your too late. Don't come to me because you see me happy with someone else. Because it's too late to apologizee, it's too late. ( :

Amazing song... Just try it once, too catchy and great lyrics. Awesome songs

This song is about moving on from a relationship. The chorus is pretty sad though. OneRepublic are so amazing!

85 Behind Blue Eyes - The Who Behind Blue Eyes - The Who
86 I'm Done - Korn I'm Done - Korn
87 Breaking the Habit - Linkin Park Breaking the Habit - Linkin Park

The sheer emotion that runs through me, especially when Chester performs it live. This song sends so many feelings, and strikes me right where it counts. It's a symphony of the terror of what drugs can do to a person, combined with that small bit of hope that the light isn't out of reach.

Breaking The Habit is the saddest song with Evanescence's My Immortal. Because lyrics is so meaningful and sadness, the tune is make you cry, Chester' voice is touching and emotion and music video is so heart wrenching.

Best Linkin Park song,

Awesome Song... Just try and listen to it!

Listen to this song. Just listen. Then you'll see how underrated is Linkin Park

88 The End - The Doors The End - The Doors

If you've ever broken up with someone that you truly loved, this is probably the most depressing song you can listen to (at that time).

The only problem is that is out of context: The song is an opus to how badly we treat the earth. What have we done to the Earth? What have we done to our, fair sister?

Hi, those lyrics are actually from "when the music's over" if you hadn't already realized but that's an easy mistake to make because they both are very long songs.

I don't find it strange that I cried one time listening to this. Do you? Okay, listen to the lyrics.

This is the end
My beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end...

This could be about the end of the world or a romance. It just sounds so devastatingly beautiful.

89 The Rains of Castamere - Jackie Evancho The Rains of Castamere - Jackie Evancho

From George R.R. Martin's HBO hit "Game of Thrones, her performance of this song of tragedy is haunting. From her "Awakening" album (do listen with a subwoofer! ), and her third PBS special "Jackie Evancho: Awakening - In Concert". Jackie also appeared in an interview with George R.R. Martin on the Wall Street Journal Cafe on 10/27/2014 - Trancas

90 Behind Blue Eyes - Limp Bizkit Behind Blue Eyes - Limp Bizkit

Limp Bizkit didn't even write this! It's The Who! God, people are stupid. His cover wasn't nearly as good as the original.

Also see limp bizkit's angles if you liked this.

91 Young and Beautiful - Lana del Rey Young and Beautiful - Lana del Rey
92 At Least We Tried - Moby At Least We Tried - Moby

This is a very sad song; it exposes the pain you feel from any significant form of loss; breakup, death, anything. It shows that in these situations, one loses all power to keep control, knowing that you'll miss what you had. - PositronWildhawk

98 A Day In the Life - The Beatles A Day In the Life - The Beatles

Depressing song that actually sounds uplifting, but still keeping a depressing mood. It's kinda like those scenes in a movie where the main character's friend just died, but he doesn't feel sad, he just accepts the fact. In that way, it's a unique, melancholy kind of sadness. Definitely not #1, but I think it deserves a place on this list. - A7XfoREVer

99 The Reason - Hoobastank The Reason - Hoobastank
100 Imagine - John Lennon Imagine - John Lennon

It's just like giver by Lois Lowry
