Top Ten Saddest Sports Cities
The Top Ten Saddest Sports Cities
The Browns are some of the less popular NFL teams. The Cavaliers have had LeBron and Kyrie though so I wouldn't say it's that bad. - B1ueNew
Even with the Cavs winning an NBA title in June 2016 and the Indians losing to the Cubs in baseball's 121st World Series (also in 2016), the Cleveland Browns wouldn't know a Super Bowl if it ate them in one bite.
The Browns don't know what it's like to be in a superbowl and the Cavaliers have never gotten to be in an NBA finals even though everyone keeps saying that they will. The only championships Cleveland citezins got to experience was the Indians winning the world series in 1920 and 1948.
You obviously don't know much. Did you know that before the Super bowl era, the Browns DOMINATED the league. I'm not even a Cleveland Sports fan and I know this! That's what's sad. - MusicalPony
The Browns are so horrible at football that they're only liked by little kids who like their logo and/or the color brown. I predicted that the next superbowl is Browns VS Lions and my dad said that if I'm right that he'll pay me $1000!
The Braves have been in the NLCS 11 times and in the world series once. The Atlanta Hawks have been in the playoffs 25 times and never to the finals.
Blowing a 25 point lead in the super bowl. Congratulations!
It's a pity the Buffalo Bills played in four straight Super Bowls without winning even ONE title let alone four. Can anybody say fail horn!
In the 70s the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Braves were really good teams, but the Bills were in 4 superbowls in a row and lost every single one. The Buffalo Braves are now more than 2000 miles away as the Los Angeles Clippers. Buffalo's hockey team, the Sabres have yet to win a Stanley Cup even with the 27 playoff apperances they have had since their first season in 1970.
Most MN fans know nothing but terrible defeats...look no further than the Vikings who have to hold some of the worst playoff losses in NFL history...Blair Walsh, Gary Anderson anyone? Plus 0-4 in the Super Bowl.
Also of note, MLB, NBA, NFL, and NHL all exist in the state and only have ever won a championship in one sport, ever (Twins, most recent 1991).
Lastly, in hockey lore, they have one of the saddest stories in history...the state of hockey, and the worst owner ever moves the team from frigid MN to TX...and naturally the franchise around from 1967 to 1993 in MN, wins the Stanley Cup in TX in 1999. Oh yeah, there is a day named after it, Happy Norm Green Sucks day (June 9th).
The Vikings are 0-4 in superbowls and the Twins have won 3 world series and one of them is from when they were still the Washington Senators. But one very disappointing fact for Minneapolis is that their former basketball team is now one of the best in the NBA.
The Vikings have got to be the most heartbroken NFL team ever. Every year they think they are going somewhere, it ends abruptly. Think about all the times they were so close. As a Vikings fan, the 2010 NFC game is my most depressing sport-related memory.
The Vikings play indoors. Their fans are SOFT!
The Suns have been in the NBA finals twice and they lost both of times. The Cardinals made it to the superbowl for the first time ever and lost in the last minute.
The Cheifs still have no superbowl apperance and the Royals have won one world series. The city's former teams the Athletics, the Kings, and the Scouts now play in California and New Jersey.
The other commenter is obviously not from KC. The Chiefs went to the first and fourth Super Bowls, winning the fourth, which is more than half the league can claim, and have been on a huge rise the last few years; Sporting KC is one of the best teams in the MLS every year; and the Royals just went to back-to-back World Series, so whether you think that's a fluke or not, no one misses the scrubby Athletics, trust me. And seriously, the Scouts? Sure, we all miss the Kings but no one gives a crap about hockey around here. KC fans are as diehard as they come, and sometimes it can be tough, but we love our teams and wouldn't trade them for anything.
This entry is in light of the disappearance of the Sonics basketball team that won an NBA title in 1979.
The Seahawks have been in 1 superbowl and they lost it. The Mariners don't even know what it's like to be in a world series. The Sonics no longer exsist in the entire state. Now that the Sonics are in Oklahoma City, Kevin Durant is doing great. Seattle goes higher than any other city in the whole wide world!
Jeez, in Boston (well... cent. Mass. ) we at least have won something. I would HATE to be a fan of these guys.

They have made it to the Super Bowl 5 times! Get your facts right!
San Diego's two former basketball teams both moved to new cities. The Chargers lost their first superbowl in 1995 and haven't been in one since. The Padres have never won a world series before.
With the Chargers relocating to LA, San Diego should be #1.
At least the San Diego Sockers won 10 championships
When the NBA's Kings left Kansas City, they should have turned themselves into the Oklahoma City Thunder (leaving Seattle's Sonics team alone), in which case there would be no SUCKramento Queens.
The Astros still await their first title through 48 seasons and nine playoff appearances. The Rockets' two titles are all the city has since the Oilers took two early AFL championships during the pre-Super Bowl era. You may not believe this but the Oilers were so bad, that the residents told the owners to move the team out of the state.
All houston has for themselves are the 2 rings they have. And those two rings came when Michael Jordan was out of the league for a year and a half.
The Rockets would've still beaten Jordan and the Bulls. Houston now has 3 rings with the Astros winning. - BUETBU91
The Washington Senators (old baseball team) won a World Series in 1924 only to spend 47 years avoiding baseball's biggest prize.
The Redskins, Capitals, Wizards, and Nationals have only won 5 championships altogether, 3 of which were by the Redskins.
In a DC fan and we suck
They barely have any titles in any sports! I do not like Philly sports fans so they deserve this!
Teams from this city have won only one major sports title since 1983: a World Series title by baseball's Phillies in 2008
Philly sucks their going nowhere
Not anymore! - LiamCoasterFan
The LOL-cats went 7-59 in a short season and the Panthers lost Super Bowl L to the Broncos.
Only 1 NBA Finals or Super Bowl appearance (not win) in the last 20 years of NFL and 35-or so years of NBA
This entry is in light of the disappearance of the Expos baseball team that won the NL East in 1981 and 1994.
Toronto Make-Believes: Avoiding postseason glory since 1967
The Utah Jazz (worst oxymoron in team sports) have never won a single NBA title.
This entry is in light of the disappearance of the Hartford Whalers (old NHL team)
At least the Miami Heat have won NBA titles, unlike the Orlando Magic.
They have a terrible team
