Best Songs of 2016

The Contenders: Page 2

21 Roses - The Chainsmokers Roses - The Chainsmokers

This one is the Chainsmokers best song ever.

It was made in 2015 but it's still awesome! - pcn

This was the starting point on the " Chainsmokers are good " phase - JoDBoss

Awesome song - Neonco31

22 Jesus Alone - Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds Jesus Alone - Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

This has to be one of the best songs I have ever heard in my entire life! 11/10. - NiktheWiz

Nick cave still makes music? He hasn't been a movement since the 90's! Good thing to see the REAL goths are back (Please get the hell outta London, Twenty one pilots and fall out boy).

Great song, but top 10? I think that's way too high. - Satire

Of course this would fall out of the top 10, this site has no taste.

Let's see what's above it...Don't Let Me Down, Cheap Thrills, 7 Years, and Can't Stop The Feeling. K. - WonkeyDude98

23 Rise - Katy Perry Rise - Katy Perry

This song sounds somewhat bland. - madoog

This coming from the person who liked Needed Me, Anaconda, and other terrible mainstream songs. - Hotheart123

I love this song but this is totally not what song I expected sorry but I kinda like it yeah

Kind of has a vibe to the Terminator theme song.

It's the message that counts. And rise delivers its message perfectly.Better than 7 years by Lukas graham at least.

24 Perfect Illusion - Lady Gaga Perfect Illusion - Lady Gaga

All the hype around Lady Gaga's newest song gave me excitement and it was worth it.
All the so called Little Monsters who were bashing on the new songs must not heard You and I. Lady Gaga is reforming to a clean side in her own growing to same to singers such as Kesha, Katy Perry and Beyonce (in a sort of way, during the Sasha Fierce area of her side). The guitar riff is weakly acclaimed in a 3/5 area in my point. Gaga's vocals are that supposed to be so great. Let us now support her for Joanne. - ArigatoKawaii

Love it... It's the best

Nice comeback Lady Gaga, better than most other songs of 2016... - Moorefamval

So underrated!

25 Dystopia - Megadeth

I mean, Megadeth is a great band, but that's like almost 90% of this list. - SirSkeletorThe3rd

The riff in the beginning is to die for, and so is the entire song. I am also so glad that metal finally where it belongs: the top of the charts. - LostDream258

Great song! Metal has managed to survive throughout the years despite never getting mainstream attention. This song is a testament to what Megadeth can do. - Bastiodon

This song is lame. The beat is so lame, even "Panda" has a better beat, and the lyrics are nonsense. Megadeth is lame.

Linkin Park is atrocious and garbage. They are worse than Megadeth for sure. - AlphaQ

26 Death of a Bachelor - Panic! at the Disco Death of a Bachelor - Panic! at the Disco

Even though I liked Emperor's New Clothes a lot, it wasn't near my favorite from the album. This song is. The production of this song is amazing, and Brendon just sells it full force. Never before has a song about no longer being single sounded so rich yet fun. - Zach808

This song is DEFINITELY the best one all year. Its Brendon Urie at his best and amazing. This song should be at number one, and all the other ones on this album should be on here too!

While not my favorite from the album (Crazy = Genius all the way), it's still good and much better than stuff like NO, or 7 years, etc.

I'm gonna be honest. I think this is the only song I can say I like or even love. I don't really like how popular they have gotten but I guess it's not as bad as TØP.

Nothing against TØP of course but I prefer songs that aren't so popular. Panic! Has gotten popular because or memes, gifs, and anything that is trending but I have liked them for a long time. In the end this is one of the best songs. And also Brendan really hits those notes.

27 Bang Bang - Green Day Bang Bang - Green Day

I got addicted to this song, it is so good. Green Day came back with a very awesome song. This song is about the Orlando shooting. - AnimeDrawer

Just missed it too. Vote this up if you want the return of quality in mainstream music.

I heard it reached #1 on the rock charts. Too bad it didn't last for long, twenty one pilots beat is out. So stupid, so mainstream, Green Day is great. - TheAwesomeBrosVotes

Seriously, this song needs more attention!
Where are the fans? This comeback song from THE LEGENDS is again crazy as they were before.

Also the album is dope!

28 History - One Direction History - One Direction

For a final single from these guys, this is actually pretty good. Has a great nostalgic feel to it. - Zach808

I love one direction but at the end when they do a hug I always cry harry is so cute/hot

Dumb Direction should seriously stop. All of you are stupid 11 year old girls.

30 I Don't Wanna Live Forever - Zayn & Taylor Swift I Don't Wanna Live Forever - Zayn & Taylor Swift

Before I heard this song I thought taylor retired. She was supposed to release an album this fall. She didn't. At least she has this song - helloitsme

I would expect nothing more from Zayne, but come on Taylor! What were you thinking?! - GrimmShady

Zayn sounds like Charlie Puth, the burpy synths sound horrendous, the snaps stick out way too much, and Taylor Swift does a thing.

Also, we now have to live with the fact that Fifty Shades of Gray has a sequel. 0/5 - WonkeyDude98

34 Into You - Ariana Grande Into You - Ariana Grande

Why on earth the song isn't on the Top 20? I mean, it has an awesome beat, great vocals and good lyrics. Why people are paying her dust? It should be higher. Same with Dangerous Woman (song)

I can't stop listening to this song. The melody, the vocals, it's so catchy. Certainly the best song of the year so far

This song is really good. I like it

Won't lie, I'm pretty into this song.

35 Lazarus - David Bowie Lazarus - David Bowie

The only reason Blackstar made my best list and this didn't, beyond me preferring Blackstar, is that having a list of just David Bowie songs would be redundant. - WonkeyDude98

He wrote his own obituary in the song! How much more can you ask for? - TheAwesomeBrosVotes

36 In the Night - The Weeknd In the Night - The Weeknd

I have absolutely no idea why this site hates this song so much. It's completely fantastic. - WonkeyDude98

5/5: Great production and deep story - ProPanda

HUH? I expected this to be a lot higher. Not like drunk high you know what I'm talking bout. Well #774 is kinda low since Everyone I know likes this song. I also like it as well and it was brought out pretty well. Not tryna be bias to The Weeknd but his songs are always great. 5/5 - AlphaQ

I absolutely despise the weekend, but this is the best song they have ever done! It has a good beat and a very deep message - Evanescence_01

37 Lush Life - Zara Larsson Lush Life - Zara Larsson

This is a pretty great song, honestly. Zara Larsson has this endless charm that combines with her amazing voice to make anything she makes instantly enjoyable. Compared to her other big song Never Forget You, however, this is pretty lacking. The beat is a mix of catchy and relaxing. It's comfortable is where I'm getting at. Lyrically, this song is pretty weak. You can pretty much call this song verse-less, which makes it feel like the same phrase repeated over and over. The writing seems to detail a young love that crashed and burned, but the final few lines seem to frame it like a love-and-leave scenario. It's like a more bitter version of Carly Rae Jepsen's work. Still solid, I give it a 4/5, but Never Forget You is much better. - WonkeyDude98

I thought that she was a reggae black singer when I first heard this! Despite whatever race she is, she is an AMAZING singer and has a perfect voice. She's a pop girl, only better! - toptenqueen

Can't stand this song. I hated Never Forget You and this is just as bad. What's good about this song? All it really is just Zara Larsson trying to be both Rihanna and Alessia Cara and she does not sound good at all on this song. I didn't care about the lyrics but what I have heard was awful, and the production is worse than Never Forget You and some of the worst I have heard in the apocalypse of pop music that is 2016. If anyone has not heard this son, I would not recommend it.

Catchy - Lunala

38 Panda - Desiigner Panda - Desiigner

Not sure what to think of this one. I mean, yeah, the backing vocals are obnoxious, Desiigner is basically diet Future, the lyrics are garbage, and the beat was literally bought of YouTube for $200, but something must be making people like it. It's probably that it's so horrifically awful that it must be seen to be believed. - WonkeyDude98

This song is so dumb, it's actually kind of hilarious. Hilariously awful, if you will. It's so bad, I laugh every time I see some white kid dancing to it because my god, do they look so stupid.

Why does everyone hate this song? It's awesome! 5/5 - AlphaQ
