Top Ten Songs That Have An Acapella Intro
A song with an acapella intro means that it starts with vocals and the instruments come in later. I don't care if it's one voice or a bunch of them, and I don't care if it's long or short. This one should be simple enough. Feel free to add to this list. This song, as most of you know, starts off with several layers of Freddie Mercury's voice singing the intro in harmony. The piano comes in after the fourth line.
First song that came into my mind when I saw this list! Also, it's amazing that Freddie sang these harmony!
The whole band sings the title of the song twice before the guitar comes in.
The song starts off with all three Beatles singing the intro in harmony.
The first section, "Her Man's Been Gone", is completely acapella.
It not only starts acapella, it ends acapella as well. The only instrument that appears throughout the whole thing is an acoustic guitar.
It starts with the chorus sung acapella.
Robert Plant starts the song by himself.
The whole song is a pastiche of Brian Wilson and his work on Pet Sounds and Smile. The acapella intro is considered by most to be based on "Our Prayer", the acapella track which was supposed to open up Smile.
So many good songs to choose from here. Was torn between this, (my favourite Queen song, and Carry On Wayward Son) I guess I made my choice. Good list!
Thanks to whoever tried to add this song to the list originally. I had completely forgotten about it. The intro is way more ornate than the one in Bohemian Rhapsody.
""Can you tell me where my country lies?" Said the uni faun to his true love's eyes."
Close, come close.
