Top Ten Songs That Would Have Been Better if They Were Instrumentals

It doesn't mean I hate the vocals in the songs or the singers voices in general, except some few exceptions. I just think the songs would have sounded better as instrumental songs.

The Top Ten

1 Wake Up Dead - Megadeth

Agree with the comment of Dave Mustaine being a poor vocalist so it makes sense to have some Megadeth songs on here especially from Dystopia where the lyrics I have seen heavily criticized as well.

This song has great riffs but Dave vocals along make the song worse. Also I am sure everyone has one megadeth song (probably even more and to some people the vocals are the reasons why they can't get into the band)that he dislikes just because of Mustaine's vocals cause he ain't simply a good vocalist. - HEAVYMETALTHUNDER12345

I don't know anything about this song. It looks like trash.I do know about the song sucker

2 Don't Look to the Eyes of a Stranger - Iron Maiden

I like several songs from the Blaze Bayley era (and it's not like Bruce's vocals were stellar on No Prayer for the Dying either), but his vocals are clearly the weakest part of any song from that time. - truckturner

Interesting, I actually think the repetition here is effective because it alters a bit and introduces us to one of the band's best solos, whereas in The Angel and the Gambler, there is no reason for it. - Alkadikce

I don't think it needs a different vocalist just needs a less repetitive chorus - christangrant

This is a random comment no one said anything about it be better with Bruce singing it, the comments are all about the chorus - germshep24

The instrumentation here is great but the chorus is repeated 32 times.More repetitive than The Angel and the Gambler, whose chorus is repeated 26 times. - HEAVYMETALTHUNDER12345

3 Repent - Yngwie Malmsteen

I don't think Yngwie is a really bad singer but he's not that good either (especially compared to the vocalists he's hired) but his vocals do not dimish his talent guitar playing talent at all. - christangrant

Yngwie sucks as a vocalist. He should hire someone good on the vocals like he did in the past. - HEAVYMETALTHUNDER12345

4 Shredded Humans - Cannibal Corpse

InB4 some adds more CC songs just because "the vocals are AWFUL" even though their supposed to sound like that - christangrant

I think Barnes vocals are a bit weak here.In the whole album actually,he got better with time. - HEAVYMETALTHUNDER12345

5 The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner - Iron Maiden

I start to think we two have the absolute opposite taste in Iron Maiden. This is my 14th favorite and the vocals are part of the reason why it is there. If I had to pick an Iron Maiden song for this list, it would be The Duellists. The chorus is pretty weak and the other vocal parts don't add to the song either. I guess it can't be an instrumental because the album already has one. - Alkadikce

I though for a while that Deja Vu was the worst song on the Somewhere in Time album, but after hearing that song again now I think this is actually the worse. It seems a bit forced and the vocals of Bruce here are the least impressive on the album,i don't think they are bad but they are just not really as impressive. - HEAVYMETALTHUNDER12345

6 Living Wreck - Deep Purple

I just think it would have been better as a instrumental not that Ian's vocals are bad. - HEAVYMETALTHUNDER12345

7 Angel from the Coast - Thin Lizzy
8 Whiplash - Metallica

James’ voice isn’t that bad here. - Userguy44

9 Stimulated - Tyga
10 Bohemian Rhapsody - Lil Meerkat

Nah, Lil Meerkat’s voice is great, even better than the music in the song. - Userguy44

The Contenders

11 Amsterdam - Van Halen

Is that child porn on the cover - Not_A_Weeaboo

12 Bleed - Meshuggah

Is this a death metal song? - Userguy44

13 Mechanix - Megadeth

Listen the sample if you wanna know why 😂 - Userguy44

14 Hammer Smashed Face - Cannibal Corpse

I love Chris Barnes' vocals on this album and Butchered At Birth (especially, Meat Hook Sodomy). - Black_Abbath

Don't know why all the hate on Barnes, we don't need to throw all his songs on here - germshep24

15 Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve

No. Richard Ashcroft's vocals are what gives the song an indie feel - Joeljohns249

16 Kim - Eminem

No. Eminem's screamed horror-core styled rapping is what triggers the strong emotions expressed in the song even further - Joeljohns249

17 Requiem - Bathory

It sounds like they don't mix good together, they are just to high on the mix. - HEAVYMETALTHUNDER12345

18 In My Mind - Dynoro

Oh yeah, the high pitched vocals are annoyingly repetitive while the beat is pretty good. This should have an instrumental version. - Userguy44

This should have instruments good but needs something more

19 7 Years - Lukas Graham
20 Bada Boom - Cash Cash
21 Barbie Girl - Aqua

Nah...if you already hate this song, it would sound even more horrible with a overly repetitive nursery rhyme-like instrumental - Joeljohns249

22 Wonderwall - Oasis

The vocals just drown my mind out. - Userguy44

23 Holy Wars... the Punishment Due - Megadeth

Disagree sure the intro is epic, put the first verse of this song is just as epic, the rest of the lyrics don't hold up to that first verse though - germshep24

24 Grave New World - Discharge
25 Bonded by Blood - Exodus
26 I C** Blood - Cannibal Corpse

Why do people like Mr Burp's voice? It's so pathetic that it makes Chris Brown look like James hetfield!

27 Looking Down the Cross - Megadeth
28 The Invisible Guests - King Diamond
29 Rap Devil - Machine Gun Kelly

Or a shorten version with just the chorus would suffice, because that chorus is pretty darn catchy - germshep24

Without the rapped vocals, it would sound like a generic trap beat & who would want to listen to that? - Joeljohns249

30 Baby - Justin Bieber

No pop songs should be on this list, taking away generic vocals and leaving the generic tune want make a pop song better it would just make it completely worthless - germshep24

-germshep24 - aww you hate pop songs...well guess what anyone can like whatever genre they want too. They can listen to Pop and Metal.
-Whiny girly vocals? his voice hadn't broke.

If it was instrumental it wouldn’t have his whiny girly vocals. It would be a better song.

If it didn't have the vocals no one would listen to the song, it is just a generic tune, it is his voice that gets the target audience to listen to it - germshep24

31 The View - Lou Reed & Metallica

32 A Spanish Piece - Pink Floyd

Why are all the other submissions metal songs? let's get some non metal in here. - ListerBlister

33 Big Fat Money - Van Halen
34 Hangar 18 - Megadeth
35 Amerika (English Version) - Rammstein

I prefer the guitar solo in this than the album version.

36 Fight Fire with Fire - Metallica

The vocals aren't bad at all, but I think it sounds better as an instrumental than singing - TheDarkOne_221b

37 Estranged - Guns N' Roses
38 The Oath - Mercyful Fate

The sample is the intro though.
