Top 10 Things Undertale Actually Got Right that Most Other RPGS Really Didn't

The Top Ten
Not requiring ludicrous amounts of experience/skill grinding in order to beat it (outside of the Genocide run)
Actually taking the time to fully and thoroughly characterize the characters, right down to literally every generic enemy you fight
Allowing you to actually dodge attacks through your own videogame skill rather than just arbitrary stats and dumb luck
Making choices actually matter
Having a relatively simple and easy-to-understand plot that leaves just enough to the imagination to provide a surprising amount of story depth regardless
Making the battles actually fun rather than just an annoying nuisance like they are in most RPGs
Making players actually legitimately feel for the characters
Making the "cute" characters cute in an actually realistic and reasonable way (in other words, not like Riki and Moogle)
Being surprisingly dark and serious yet lighthearted and humorous at the same time
Having a simple yet deep combat system
