Some of his songs are based on his own life. Rain on the Scarecrow is my favorite. It's based on his childhood, when his farm went into forclosure. I believe his music will last long beyond his lifetime. So many great songs with meaning.

I mean, I love Robert Plant, but Jones is a thousand times the musician of not only Plant but nearly everyone on this list. Please give this list at least some legitimacy and put the heartbeat of Led Zeppelin where he belongs!
If it has keys or strings he can play it. That is a musician, folks.
