21GotyeWouter Andre "Wally" De Backer, better known as Gotye, is an Australian-Belgian multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter. The name "Gotye" is a pronunciation respelling of "Gauthier", the French cognate of Gotye's given Dutch name "Wouter".

I'm still shocked that Heart's a Mess only has over 8 million views on youtube. Gotye is an amazing artist, his songs are so pure and his metaphors are great. His voice is so nice and clear, he is a true artist. His songs have deep deep meaning, and he combines different types of music, creating his own genre. Everyone's heard Somebody that I used to Know, but you really need to listen to all his other songs. - dragonfly99
