Top 10 Reasons Why the Powerpuff Girls Reboot is Bad

Cartoon Network has made another terrible remake of a classic, iconic, and good show. Watch the original, not this trash.
The Top Ten
1 They animated little girls twerking

Cartoon Network: Little girls twerking is good, but heaven forbid a woman with breasts be on this show! They also did this with Miss Keane too. In the original, she had tiny breasts, but now she has no breasts at all! Can't they just deal with the fact that some women have breasts and some have flat ones? Ugh!

Because that's what the original show was missing! Who needs charm and good cartoons when you can have bottom humor? Which is not overused or anything at all, obviously! Ah yes, I give this show a rating worse than Teen Titans Go.

2 They removed Miss Sara Bellum for a very illogical reason

She was meant to be a female character represented by her intelligence, not her body. Her name, Sara Bellum, is literally a pun based on a part of the brain. The show removed her out of fear that some parent would, at first glance, say that she looked too 'revealing' or that she was just a female stereotype and the show was being sexist. Ms. Bellum, though having her figure, was meant to be seen as smart as well, but some only see her body.

Well, excuse us women for having breasts and hips that stick out! Ms. Bellum was not just a body. She was a role model. She was intelligent, independent, and the girls' female role model. Seriously, she's more fit to be mayor than the Mayor. Miss Sara Bellum for president!

But they allow little five-year-old girls to twerk? Who the hell is writing this show?

3 The girls are weak compared to the original

Exactly, this explains the new generation. In the past, children used to go outside, play sports, and they were actually mature. They would also go on TV and watch the ORIGINAL PPG and other '90s shows, which actually taught something and had a good sense of humor. Everyone enjoyed them, from kids to seniors.

Now it's just third-grade boys who think cursing and "roasting" people (roasting is kind of funny, but I mean when they take it from the internet and make the witnesses think it's originally from them) makes them "cool."

There are also 10-12 year old girls who can't keep their eyes off their phones because of the annoying dog filter and They think if their phone's battery is dead, it's worse than being buried alive.

4 It is like Teen Titans Go!

Imagine Teen Titans Go! is a serious show. It feels like a clone of the classic Powerpuff Girls.

5 Craig McCracken didn't want Powerpuff Girls to get a reboot

You know why the President ignored him? Well, all she is interested in is money and ruining our childhoods. When Craig left the original for Fosters, PPG started to suck. So, according to my conspiracy theory, she thought, "OK, guys, the reboot will suck without him anyway. So let's just make it as bad as possible." Ignorant git.

I'm so glad Nickelodeon sought out Craig Bartlett for bringing back Hey Arnold. They are doing right by that show, making sure it's very close to the original with only a few (mostly aesthetic) tweaks. Not like Cartoon Network with this show.

6 The animation is poorly done

Look, I personally don't have a problem with the art style. It doesn't butcher the predecessor like Teen Titans Go did. BUT the animation errors...when I first watched this show, I didn't notice them, but now that I want to be an animator when I grow up, I look at cartoons critically. And looking at this reboot... UGH!

You would expect that since it's newer, it would have better animation. WRONG! The same thing happened with Teen Titans Go!

It looks like it was drawn by a 5-year-old. The animation of the old series was way better.

7 There is a crossover for the reboot with Teen Titans Go

I watched the crossover of the 2016 Powerpuff Girls and Teen Titans Go. I was rather disappointed and thought it was the stupidest crossover episode I've ever seen. Calling the girls "babies" was rude. Are Robin, Starfire, and Raven blind to the fact that the girls are in elementary school and know how to deal with crimes?

I bet they are because they think they're "babies." Beast Boy and Cyborg were even worse. They work for Mojo Jojo, then he betrays them and traps them in a cage.

Teen Titans Go, or Toddler Titans, and this horrible reboot combined! It must be worse than The Problem Solverz! If The Problem Solverz crossed over with this, it would destroy Cartoon Network. Teen Titans Go + Powerpuff Girls = 100% destruction!

8 Destroyed the reputation of the original Powerpuffs and Powerpuff Z

They are both good, but the reboot is not. What this is missing is the spirit it once had, and the epic battles. References used to make it look cooler, but now it's just kid-restricted, which is stupid.

9 It doesn't have the charm that the original had

This show is basically just full of laziness and stupid, outdated memes. The original had none of that!

10 They are trying to lure in older fans with the nostalgia factor but are failing miserably
The Contenders
11 One of the writers made an OC of himself and made him date Blossom in the show

Just looking at this gave me a headache, and now I'm slowly and painfully mentally vegetating in front of my computer as I write this comment. This man needs to be kicked off the writing team.

Even if this wasn't the intent, they really should have thought this through better. It's creepy.

To whoever made an OC to date Blossom, think twice!

12 It makes the Chris Savino era of the original feel like the Craig McCracken era

Ugh! What is up with people saying that the reboot is worse than seasons 5 and 6 of the original?! Here's the real fact: THAT'S NOT SAYING MUCH! You people don't get it, do you? You would rather watch Pee Pee G's, Sun Scream, City of Frownsville, Sweet and Sour, and Girls Gone Mild over ANY episode of the reboot?! That makes no sense!

The reboot is just AS bad as seasons 5 and 6 of the original! Saying that the reboot is worse isn't going to help. I know for a fact that seasons 5 and 6 are just as bad as the reboot.

Yes, it does! At least some effort was put into seasons five and six. With the reboot, the writers are deliberately ruining the old show like Teen Titans Go.

13 They removed the original voice actors of The Powerpuff Girls

Amanda Leighton, Natalie Palamides, and Kristen Li are actually pretty nice people. Replacing Cathy, EG Daily, and Tara Strong isn't a valid reason to hate these girls! It was Nick Jennings who gave those jobs to Kristen, Amanda, and Natalie! So stop being so harsh on these three new voice actresses just because they took the place of your childhood favorites.

Besides, Tara Strong wasn't Bubbles' first voice actor. Kath Soucie was! But do PPG fans lack respect for Tara becoming the voice of Bubbles from the core series? Yes, I mean, NO!

14 The narrator is underused
15 Bubbles dressed like a prostitute and smoked

That is a bad example for kids. They removed Miss Bellum and claimed she is "inappropriate" when she was more than just a pretty face. She was a good adviser and assistant. Yet, they do not think it is inappropriate for a five-year-old to dress inappropriately and smoke? That is going to teach young innocent kids to smoke and wear clothing that is not for their age.

16 The addition of a "Fourth" Powerpuff Girl

I saw a trailer about how they're gonna add a "Fourth" Powerpuff Girl. In the trailer, other CN characters were getting super excited over this "wonder."

I saw who she was and noticed something weird about her. Her legs were long. Her hair was long and electric-blue. Also, her name is Bliss. Her skin color was darker than Blossom's, Bubbles', and Buttercup's. I guess this is probably because they have opposite DNA from how she was created compared to how Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup were created.

Still, I think it's better with only having three girls instead of 4, 5, 6, and so on.

17 The music in the show is very bad

The original theme song was boring. No lyrics or anything. I like the new theme song. It has lyrics and a story to it, making it more appealing to us younger viewers. The old one was borrowed from other superhero themes too, like from the '50s. Go rant about Bugs Bunny or something, you newbie haters.

I cannot believe the Powerpuff Girls just rapped a song that sounds like a ripoff of Missy Elliot's "Work It." The new theme song sounds boring and dull.

The theme song is very boring. The ending song sounds childish, like an ending for a Nick Jr. show. The girls actually rapped a terrible song in this show, so bad it will make your ears hurt. The original had better music. The theme song sounded more heroic, the ending was awesome, and the song Love Makes The World Go Round is cute.

18 They over use outdated memes for humor and dialogue to make stuff seem hip and cool

If their target audience is kids who are too young to know the original, then they also won't know those old memes from 2005!

I love memes. Good memes. But gosh, couldn't they have used classic and new (but good) ones occasionally?

Who's even going to laugh at 5-10-year-old memes?!

19 The new Powerpuff Girls are completely out of character compared to their originals

Girls, what happened to you?! You were strong, cute, and powerful in the original! Now, you three are completely out of character!

Blossom, you were a smart leader, but now you are really bossy!

Bubbles, you were cute and cheery, but now you are a spoiled brat!

Buttercup, you were hilarious, but now you are too weird.

I loved you three girls in the original, but I hate you in the reboot.

Blossom is too neat, Bubbles is so bratty, spoiled, and annoying, and Buttercup is too weird. Bubbles is my least favorite in the reboot.

20 The new art style makes the characters look off

The new art style is just like the old one, but with new details, thinner lines, and more bland colors. Can't they add more thickness to the lines and more color? Also, why did they add Buttercup a cowlick and Bubbles a hair tie?

I liked the art style of the original, but the new one looks so strange. It's as if they were trying to make it look detailed and modern, but instead, it turned out quite bland and as if it was missing something. And what's with the thin line art?

UGH! The art style is SO ugly, honestly. What is up with Buttercup's cowlick? It's unnecessary and hideous. Even smaller things bug me, like how Bubbles' pigtails are too high up on her head. Words cannot describe how much I hate the reboot.

21 Bubbles is an animal lover who wanted to fight a bull
22 The humor is so bad that people use the "It's Time to Stop" FilthyFrank meme to sum up how bad it is
23 They made Buttercup into a ruthless bully

They ruined my favorite cartoon character. Why did they do this to Buttercup? She called her own sister ugly in a picture and threatened a kid to vote for Blossom or she would beat him up.

They gave Buttercup the Patrick Star treatment. You know how Patrick was fine in the first few seasons but then became a jerk and remained one since season six or something.

Buttercup is total crap in the update. Who asked to turn her into a bully?

24 We don't see enough of the villains

This show barely shows any of the characters. Whenever Mojo Jojo appears, it's just an insult to me.

It's a kids' show, and Cartoon Network is trying to focus on the girls growing up as preteens and going to school, not kicking butt all the time, which is what Buttercup wants anyway. This section is totally her.

The new villains are completely lame and boring!

Manboy: A short "man" who grows hair

Pack Rat: A rat-like villain who has weak ideas

Bianca & Her Hairy Gorilla Friend: Lame fashion villains

When Mojo Jojo came in, he turned out to be the exact opposite of the original.

25 No Rowdyruff Boys

The Rowdyruff Boys made the original very interesting since they were created. I hope they put them in the reboot, but I hope they don't ruin them like they already did with the Powerpuff Girls.

I heard that they will come in episode 40 in season one. I hope it actually happens.

They only appeared in one episode for like five seconds.
