Top 10 Best Teen Titans (2003) Characters

The 2003 Teen Titans series from Cartoon Network is still regarded by many as one of the best animated shows ever. Decades after its original run, it continues to have a dedicated fanbase.

This list focuses exclusively on characters who were featured in the 2003 Teen Titans TV series.

The Top Ten
  1. Raven

Raven is a fictional superheroine appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. She first appeared in a special insert in DC Comics Presents #26 in October 1980 and was created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist George Pérez. Raven is a founding member of the New Teen Titans and is known for... read more

I love Raven because she is the character I can relate to and understand the most. She acts like nothing bothers her, or that she doesn't really care about anything, but she is actually one of the kindest and most emotionally vulnerable people in the show, in her own way.

She cares deeply for everyone on the team and thinks of them like the family she never had. She was never raised with the warmth and love that she deserved, yet she does her very best every day to protect people and control herself.

She is a very emotionally complex person but never lets you know. She helped me a lot when I was going through a bad time in my life. I saw her as what I thought I should be, and it got me through it. I am very grateful that she was there and that I discovered the Teen Titans before then. Without it, I wouldn't be who I am now.

  2. Beast Boy

Without a doubt, one of my favorite characters in a TV show. He may not be the brightest of the Titans, and he sometimes is actually the cause of some of their problems, but everyone has their faults.

He is funny, relatable, and caring. He cares about his friends and would never intentionally hurt them. And when he is being serious, he is a badass. Remember how he led the remaining Titans in "Titans Together"? Awesome!

Beast Boy was awesome. Who doesn't want the power to morph? (Well, everything he morphed into was green, but still, that was awesome.) He was by far the funniest character ever. He was also the wildest, and I loved nature, so Beast Boy was totally the best.

He always jokes in the most serious times, making everybody feel relaxed. He had the saddest past ever, so he was an extremely lovable character. I wish Terra didn't betray him, and I wish Raven would stay with him forever. Anyway, he was the best character ever, and I wish everybody could stop liking Raven so much. Beast Boy was better!

  3. Robin

Robin is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly in association with Batman. Multiple characters have taken on the Robin identity, including Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, and Damian Wayne. The character is also featured prominently in animated series... read more

After The Apprentice Parts 1 and 2, Robin became my favorite character. It shows that he is a developed and intricate character. He cares about his friends, and his feelings are highly complex.

To me, Robin is the most human out of the team, followed by Raven, especially in the Birthmark episode. Despite probably being the weakest physically out of the team, he more than makes up for it with his amazing leadership skills, strategic planning, and love for his fellow teammates.

Robin, personally, is the most relatable and shows the most emotion in the series. He is tormented by Slade and his responsibilities, and that's what makes him the most human.

  4. Starfire

Starfire is the name of several fictional characters appearing in books published by DC Comics. The most notable incarnation is Princess Koriand'r, also known as Kory Anders, an alien superheroine who debuted in 1980. Created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez, she possesses Tamaranean physiology that... read more

Starfire is the strongest because she is an "alien," similar to Superman, who is indeed very strong. Though she is new to the planet, remember that she has been on Earth for a while and somewhat knows Earth's customs.

I do agree that Raven is powerful, but sometimes she is vulnerable. When she is up against strong enemies like Cinder Block or Brother Blood, she can be vulnerable. The only time you really saw her in her "white form" was in very few episodes.

On the contrary, Starfire is strong and powerful all the time, in every episode. She has a better temper than Raven indeed. She only gets mad when fighting, and one episode proves that. It's the episode when she and Raven switch bodies while they were fighting the puppet man. She clearly states that in order for her to fire 'starbolts,' she must think of something that angers her.

In head-to-head combat, she is way stronger than all of the Teen Titans. Overall, Starfire is the strongest Teen Titan of all.

  5. Cyborg

Cyborg is a fictional superhero featured in American comic books published by DC Comics. His real name is Victor Stone, and he was created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist George Pérez. Cyborg first appeared in DC Comics Presents #26 in 1980 and is known for being a key member of the Teen Titans and... read more

Cyborg is no doubt the best Teen Titan. He is very funny, like Beast Boy, dates a villain against the rules for love, and does have a kind heart.

Him, Star, Robin, Beastie, all good characters, but I've never watched the original, only Teen Titans Go. Though I know Cyborg would still be the best in the original, he is so good.

I love Cyborg! He's awesome and has a likable personality. Honestly, I don't even think it's possible for someone to hate the guy! I voted for Raven because she's my favorite character, but I commented on all my other favorites, including Cyborg.

He's so funny, but I just love Cyborg because he's realistic and has these serious intense moments, like how he talks about his past being human. But he's usually positive.

    -Selma

  6. Slade

Slade is a fictional version of the character Deathstroke in the American animated series Teen Titans. He is the main antagonist of Seasons 1 and 2 and is the archenemy of the Teen Titans, particularly targeting them for reasons initially unknown. He appears as a vision in Season 3 and returns in Season... read more

A pure badass. Even without a clear motivation, the sheer actions he takes to get what he wants are always very thrilling. And that scene at the end of Apprentice (Part 1) was so creepy, all thanks to him. Haunting was easily the best episode, thanks to him. There are other examples, but I don't want to make an essay out of this.

Slade is so suave, cool, and awesome! Oh, and very badass and mysterious. What can I say? He's one cool villain, and he isn't boring like some other villains from great TV shows I know of (cough, Fire Lord Ozai, cough).

  7. Jinx

Jinx is a fictional supervillain appearing in publications from DC Comics. She is often depicted as a powerful sorceress and the leader of the Fearsome Five. Jinx also appears as a recurring character in the animated series Teen Titans, where she is reimagined with different traits from her comic counterpart... read more

Jinx is so awesome. She has so much more to her than being a villain (not that I didn't like her as a villain, of course, because she can kick butt!). I loved the episode Deception. It was some great character development that I think we were all waiting for.

While I only think Kid Flash is okay, I love that he persuaded her to be a Titan, which is what she always wanted but was insecure about. Even though she was a villain, I think Jinx is a great role model.

Jinx is really awesome. I think the episode Lightspeed really managed to show depth into her personality. But she's so sassy in other episodes, and I think her powers are my favorite.

Kid Flash and Jinx blend well with each other. I love how he managed to get her to come to the good side, and in Titans Together, the way she defeated Madame Rouge was hilarious.

  8. Terra

Tara Markov, A.K.A. Terra, is a notorious villain in Teen Titans. She's known for her geokinetic abilities, which consist of throwing rocks towards others, and for being someone who was manipulated by Slade Wilson/Deathstroke.... read more

I love Terra, and I think she gets too much hate. She was an extremely insecure girl who didn't have full control over her powers. Slade saw her weaknesses and manipulated her. She didn't want to betray the Titans. Slade made her feel like she owed him since he helped her control her powers.

She clearly cared deeply for the Titans, especially Beast Boy, and loved being a part of the team. You could see how guilty she felt about her betrayal. Was she cruel and brutal in Aftershock Part 1? Yes. But she felt completely alone and only had Slade to turn to.

In the end, she did the right thing and sacrificed herself to save the city. I love Terra because she is complex. She's not just good or bad. She is complicated. I also love her design, and her powers are super cool.

  9. Red X

Possibly the greatest cartoon character ever created. He hasn't been beaten in any fights against the Titans, a feat not even Slade has replicated.

He is my favorite villain because Robin was once him, and this character, the new Red X, is good sometimes!

God, he's so badass, with his looks, attitude, and everything. Not good but not evil... Just doing his own thing. So cool.

  10. Kid Flash

Kid Flash is a name used by several characters in comic books published by DC Comics. The first and most well-known version is Wally West, who later becomes the Flash himself. Other characters who have taken the mantle include Bart Allen and Wallace West, often appearing as part of the Teen Titans and... read more

I love Kid Flash! He is so funny and smart, and his flirty personality is adorable! I don't ship him with Jinx. But the weird thing is, for this series, I ship him with Raven, and I also ship him with Terra. I'm messed up...

Are you kidding?! He's definitely the most suave character. I like his confidence, and he's absolutely perfect for Jinx. He changed her completely and made her a good guy (except they put her back in the Hive Five in TTG).

Kid Flash is awesome! And it's a good thing he converted Jinx. She was great during the battle with the Brotherhood.

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

    The Brain

  13. ?

    Robot Man

  14. The Contenders
  15. Aqualad

You know how Starfire and Raven were all in love with him in his first episode? Yeah, that was me.

I just learned about Aqualad, and I just LOVE him!

  16. Blackfire

Blackfire is a fictional supervillain who appears in American comic books published by DC Comics. She is the older sister of Starfire, a member of the Teen Titans, as well as Ryand'r, a member of the Omega Men. Starfire is often portrayed as Blackfire's primary adversary.... read more

My favorite villain! She's so cunning, deceitful, immoral, sadistic, and remorseful. (Found that out on the wiki.)

Blackfire is so pretty! I like her better than Starfire. Why do people hate on her?

I think Blackfire is totally cool, but I don't get why people like Slade so much.

  17. Gizmo

  18. Speedy

Out of all the characters in the show, Speedy is my number three. He's funny, awesome, and always competes with Robin over who is better. He's a great pair with Jinx, and I don't know why he ever liked Starfire.

Anyway, he's just like Robin but cooler and has the same power as Kid Flash, but better.

Raven and Speedy are just the best characters ever! I do love Raven, but she was already in the first position. Speedy, however, should have had more screen time. He was not only funny but also awesome! I can't get enough of these two.

Speedy is so similar to Robin. Then Robin tricked Starfire and dressed up as Speedy.

  19. Silkie

Silkie is cool! I especially like it in La Larva De Amor and as a Silkie/Rabbit by B'Wana Beast in You're Fired! Watch Teen Titans Go! Never watch Teen Titans.

And on Silkie's one because he didn't change in Go!

  20. Brother Blood

Brother Blood is the name of two fictional supervillains in the DC Comics universe. The first version, Sebastian Blood VIII, debuted in The New Teen Titans #21 in July 1982 as the leader of a violent cult opposing the Teen Titans. A second character, Sebastian Blood IX, appeared in Outsiders #6 in January... read more

An underrated Cyborg nemesis! I hope they make this character more prominent in the future because he serves as a perfect archenemy to Cyborg, especially if Vandal Savage will never be.

Brother Blood is an awesome villain that everyone forgets about. He even stole Cyborg's tech and made himself into another cyborg.

Really cool villain, both before and after he (spoiler alert) upgraded himself with Cyborg's tech.

  21. Mas y Menos

  22. Trigon

Trigon is a demon and a comic book character published by DC Comics. He is one of the most powerful beings in the DC Universe, having enslaved many worlds. Trigon is best known as the archenemy and father of the Teen Titans member Raven.

Trigon is below Red Hood, and Red Hood isn't even in the show. Sending a lackey to traumatize your own daughter is not cool at all.

Trigon is awesome! Even if his daughter, Raven, defeated him in the episode, "The End."

Raven kicked his huge butt, so I think this is the perfect place for him.

  23. Bumblebee

She is a great ass-kicker, and she and Cyborg MUST have chemistry! She is one of my favorite characters and is just so... lovable!

She can turn so small and kick butt! She deserves to be higher up.

  24. Mammoth

  25. Control Freak

My favorite antagonist. Formerly a throwaway villain, he turned into someone as memorable as Mad Mod in the masterpiece that was Episode 257-494/Don't Touch That Dial! All those pop culture references. I was dying of laughter. Plus, he gave Titans East an episode to call their own. How could you not appreciate that?!

He should be in the top 10. He's my second favorite Teen Titans villain, and Slade's my favorite.

  26. Cheshire

  27. Rose Wilson

Rose is totally my favorite, along with Starfire and Raven. She has an awesome eyepatch and cool white hair. She's Raven's best friend and enemy in the episode where Robin and Rose are arguing about who's in jail. It's so funny.

She may have betrayed Raven in the end, but she's still totally cool and awesome.

How is this below Terra? Terra is a huge liar, and Rose is actually cool.

  28. Argent

She is awesome. Her accent, her hair, and her style all make me think that she is amazing. She has a very dark and mysterious outfit, but so do I. She is my third favorite because the people in first and second are amazing also.

  29. Kole

Kole is pretty cool. I mean, she is really cute with her pink hair and all. Also, her powers are awesome!

I like Kole. I like her powers, and she's so kind to Gnark. She should have been higher in the rankings.
