He have mixed black rhythm and blues with white country which gave Rockabilly ( the primitive form of Rock and Roll ) while he was at SUN records. No sound like that was heard before ( there were rhythm and blues songs that almost sounded like Rock and Roll and even country songs [ hillbilly boogie, Western swing etc...] that sounded close to Rock and Roll ). It's the mix of these two cultures ( who were still separated on radio, the fifties ) that opened the doors to what would become popular Rock and Roll. He created Rockabilly ( a mix of two existing genres ) and made Rock and Roll popular worldwide.
