The Top Ten
The Best Guitar is not in price but in model it's a tip the heavy wood makes the guitar heavier so I think this is the best
The best guitar tone ever comes from a Gibson Les Paul. The heavy wood makes the tone rich and full, and if you replace the pickups with some nice bareknuckles, you have the best guitar ever. Period.
Greatest guitar company of all time. It is simply, awesome. The rich tones when its on clear, and the amazing rock crunch when you flip on the overdrive. I have many Les Pauls, and they are the best. I have both a 1958, and 1959 burst colors and they are amazing. I also end a few stratocasters, they suck compared to my Les Pauls!
I've owned & played a number of the most famous name brand Electric Guitars and Hands Down, No 2 Ways about it, Bottom Line, Without A Doubt, - GIBSON LES PAUL is Absolutely The BEST and I Mean The VERY BEST Electric Guitars of All Time! I have a fender too its great I giving one for free to someone if you wont give me a call
I gave up my guitar to my 17 year old granddaughter who Is working on her first album I need one 503-997-1612 thanks Amelia.
I'm really not into the whole gibson vs. Fender thing, I've just been exposed more to fender and its great, but I should probably familiarize myself more with gibson as well. But I just really like fender. Stratocasters, telecaster are ideal
My guitar teacher has a fender and everything about it is beautiful from the sound to the look. Gibson vs Fender. Fender all the way.
What a subjective shoot-out!
10 years ago I thought Fender where boring, plain, simple guitars that were a lot more difficult to play. And then I matured and saw Fender as a company that produces great value.
I've voted for Fender not only based on the value they offer, but because of their durability and ease of maintenance. They are roadworthy, they do not need to be treated with kid gloves and they really do cater for anyone's individual budget. Like Gibson, they also sound good and have a fantastic historical tradition which is used to good effect in their marketing.
I've owned two Gibsons, an SG and a Les Paul, both USA made. Under very close inspection, the SG had a few issues with its finish and it had a big baseball bat style chunky neck. Not for me so I sold it. However, I do still have the Les Paul which is beautiful (although over-rated), but I'm wary of gigging with it. Nice Les Pauls attract thieves, belt buckle rash and, if you were to accidentally ...more
Best brand in price/quality relation. I have 4 guitars, an epiphone explorer goth made on korea, and Jackson KV2 made on usa and 2 ibanez. RG320PG P2 and a RGT6EX, both made on indonesia. The first one is the cheaper, but the sustaine, action a comfort is very nice for a bugget guitar. I've played bugget guitars of other brands, and ibanez is far superior. In fact, my RG320 P2 is nice as some others guitars that cost twice of it price. Mi RGT6EX is excellent, to me must worth $1000 USD but the real price is close $800 USD or less.
My epi is very nice (Almost like a gibson for 1/3 of a gibson price) and obviously, my Jackson is far superior than my other guitars. But I'm just have mid end ibanez guitars and they are very good guitars. The high end ibanez are awesome and worth less than high ends of other brands in most cases having with the same quality (or superior in very cases).
The other plus to the brand is that the made a lot of improvements of guitars technology. ...more
Very nice sound for those who like to play hard rock or metal. It has got a very nice clean sound as well. Ibanez is the guitar I use mainly, and will keep using. Of course fender and gibson are the kings. But the ibanez guitars are not too expensive good for beginners and for the professionals!
Great guitar brand. Not as expensive as gibson but same quality
People like Gibsons and Fenders for their tones, and I won't argue on that--that's a matter of opinion. But for playability, Ibanez is King. The necks are faster, the action is much better, and the pickups are usually hotter. They are normally equipped with better tremolos. And if you're playing with a lot of effects or distortion, the natural tone of the guitar isn't going to matter as much. The combination of all these factors makes Ibanez ideal for heavy metal/virtuoso types like Satriani, Vai, and originally Petrucci (although he has moved on to an Ernie Ball Music Man). But they make good jazz and acoustic guitars as well. For playing quickly, precisely, and accurately, Ibanez beats everyone else by a mile. And their better models are no slouch on tone, either, arguably as good as Fender/Gibson.Shop Ibanez Guitars
PRS makes some of the best guitars in the world. Who ever made this list is insane, PRS should be right after gibson. They're better than fender. Go to a guitar center and try one!
I agree. Right now they are the best guitar brand around, but Gibson could easily catch up, they just have to stop all their gimmicky stuff. - zabathy1
How is PRS 12? Most pro's have switched from Gibson to PRS, or from any brand to PRS for that matter. Go to any guitar store and put ANY PRS against any high end guitar and see for yourself. "Ibanhad" should be taken off this list, and all these 3rd rate walmart brands should be removed as well. How are there brands on the bottom of this list that don't even produce guitars?
I have owned Gibson and Fenders and other models until I picked up a few Paul Reed Smith's I didn't know what I was missing. The quality of the build on these guitars is at a whole different level. I believe that when Paul Reed Smith guitars came out it shook the whole guitar industry into putting better finishes and quality back into some of the their own models as it was too obvious they had moved into second, third or fourth place in the manufacturing of fine instruments. To me Paul Reed Smith guitars should be ranked number one on these lists.
This is hands down THE BEST brand there is! Trust me, I've been playing guitar since I was a kid. I've had used, owned, and tried every guitar there is. Gibson is NO WAY better than PRS, the sound quality of a PRS is awesome! They are pretty light, the designs are awesome as well, although PRS is a bit more expensive than your average guitar it is worth every penny! Gibson's are way too over priced and would never match the PRS. I used to own a gibson sg and lp, and I sold them after I had my own PRS. If you really know the difference between a good and a great guitar you would pick PRS over any other brand. Period.Shop Paul Reed Smith Guitars
I have a limited edition epiphone les paul custom plus and it looks exactly like a gibson
Lets face it they rock! I've got an epiphone, I've had it for ages and it just works. Great tone and playability. I'm getting another one, I've got a les paul and am getting an sg. Epiphone all the way!
I have a epiphone sg 50th edition and it does great by me in all I do. I play a lot of 60's music and otherwise all I want. It's very versatile and not to mention the cherry red wood grain finish makes it looks really awesome. Everyone I've ever met has bragged on it and I've been offered all kinds of guitars from Washburns to fenders. Just recently I went to a old guitar player of 30 yearsiin my grandfathers neighborhood and he absolutely loved the tone and playability. He said the only thing it might need to make it better was a professional setup which I'll soon be getting. When I first got it I complained a lot that the strings were a bit harder to push down due to the longer scale of the neck (the neck on it is pretty long) however. If you' work with it for about 2 days off and on its no problem. I love epiphone and judging from what I've played in ibanez guitars I might soon invest in one of them.
I have a cheap epiphone sg special and it sounds the same as my friends gibson sg gothic when they're plugged into the same amp! Only difference, my guitar casts about 800 dollars less. My parents offer to get me a better guitar, but I'm perfectly happy with my hard rocking epiphone.Shop Epiphone Guitars
Jackson make very nice, fast and great looking guitars. To me, jackson's have both of to universes, the elegance and the aggressive look at the same time. For example, take a audi, a mercedez and a bmw. Gibson is like bmw, mercedez like fender (or perhaps old cadillacs) and jackson is like and audi, aggressive and elegant.
But not all is good. The well made jackson guitars are expensive, the cheaper ones are very bad guitars. In case of ibanez, to me is the best brand if you talk about quality vs price.
The only reason why anyone likes Ibanez is because it's cheap. When you're ready to buy a real axe, get a Jackson. Ibanez is not a "shredder" brand, it is a budget brand, just like Carvin. Jackson has it all: great sound, great feel, great looks, great for shredding! I'll admit because Rich makes some interesting looking guitars, but Jacksons are still cooler (if you've ever seen a Kelly, I'm sure you'll agree). Jackson For the Win!
I think jackson (particularly the USA models) are truly the most versatile of all the high end electric guitars. The build quality is second to none as they are made at the custom shop by very experienced luthiers, the woods used are exotic and tonally superb. The hardware is the best around Floyd rose/ Seymour Duncan's and the action/playability is fantastic. All in all you feel although expensive, you feel like you're getting your monies worth. But the great thing is that they produce an incredible array of sounds which covers all aspects of musical style from the beefed up classic grind of a Gibson, to the stringy percussive violin sounds of a start and everything in between. The USA ones are expensive but I have 2 (an sl 1 and sl 2) and given the enjoyment and reliability they have given me, they owe me nothing.
The handmade USA Jacksons are simply the best. Best quality, look great, play like a dream, great sound. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Some of the Jackson imports, for the money, are great - I don't like the cheesy looking MOTO inlays though. USA models will take a beating and will last forever - not sure about the imports. I've had a 1990 Jackson Fusion USA with a saturn graphic for 21 years - I've had many others through the years but the Jackson remains my favorite and I refuse to part with it.Shop Jackson Guitars
Way better than fender for metal than a fender will ever be! The quality of a ESP gives really good rifts and a nice and clean fret board so your fingers don't have to stretch so far plus they have an amazing tone to it with both distortion and non distortion
High power, fast playing, easy to pick up. I love the playing quality and simple beauty of the body!
Seriously, Yamaha above ESP?! Japanese made ESP guitars are among the best in the world, no wonder so many people play them. They have great designs and an ESP standard is not to high in price compared to a USA Jackson or custom shop guitar. Ibanez prestige are very nice to (I hate the necks personally) but the build is really good. ESP blows Gibson out of the water by a VERY large margin. Gibson has lawsuits against them for selling "USA" made guitars that were discovered to be imports from cheap labor offshore factories. All ESP and Ibanez prestige guitars are made in Japan and are immaculate in terms of quality and consistency. ESP is more a metal guitar but they have much better tone than any of the others listed, the only one here that might have a sweeter tone is prs but for $8,000 and only a fractionally better tone that is subjective they can keep it. I personally like ESP and Schecter best but Jackson is really good too. Not to knock Ibanez, but their necks are way to thin ...more
ESP Is simply the best brand you could ever use, from it's awesome quality ESP too their good quality/price relation with LTD. You can use an LTD distressed series for playing classic rock, for blues also, and the Xtone series make their work too, and from their LTD standard and deluxe series to their ESP standard and signature series for the best and widest range of metal you could ever imagine, with them you can from Black Sabbath or Ozzy Osbourne, to Metallica and Children of Bodom. (Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Alexi Laiho, Henkka, Michael Paget, Gus G, Tom Araya, Jeff Hanneman and almost any Japanese guitar and bass player that is considered good [Seriously, without exaggerations or lying] endorses ESP guitars and basses).Shop ESP Guitars
You really get the most out of your money with Yamaha. A very reliable brand. Even the low range guitar guitars like the Yamaha erg121uc2g are Brilliant.
I have a yamaha sg 1000 like Carlos Santana's. It rocks! I tried it with a Gibson sg of the same price and it didn't match the quality. Then I tried a Les Paul Gibson about one and a half grand more, even that wasn't as good as the sg 1000. Lets face it, the Japanese (this does include Ibanez for they are awesome too) kick ass when it comes to quality and price!
I have a yamaha SG 1000, bought it for $2100 (stock prive 2500)(aus and after haggling) and also tested gibsons from the same price range. From that I found out that although the quality of gibson is good, it's way too over priced especially comparing my sg to a les paul at $4000 that is not even as good as my sg.
Secondly, this is Japanese, need I say more? Japanese are all ways known for cheap electrical products however they're also the most RELIABLE products that's why customer support is a not needed thing.
Thirdly, yamaha has been known for musical instruments for a long long time and is the biggest producer of musical instruments. On its logo, it has got two tuning pegs meaning unlike any other musical brand, it is the most diverse. The only reason that people say fenders and gibsons are better is because they were the original makers of contempory electric guitars and the fact that they're well known. So basically, all you're paying for is the badge.
Yamaha guitars all seem to be an exceptional value, in general, across a broad range of price points. And let's face it, their top end guitars are as good, or even better than, anyone's.
The SG2000, and the recent SBG2000 reissues, have top notch build, finishing, and appointments directly comparable to similar guitars from Gibson for far less money. (And they have features, like thru-neck construction, seldom seen on a Gibson or Fender or PRS... And combine things like a double cutaway with a thick body and a maple cap. They made double cut Les Paul's. Try finding one. For a good price. It won't be as elegant if you do).
Don't get me wrong. The Les Paul set the standard. Is beloved by countless players the world over. And has an iconic look and sound.
I dig my Gibson Les Paul, it is a sirloin steak with a distinctly American flavor all it's own.
But my Yamaha SG2000 is Kobe steak with onion soup AND shrimp... And the waiter doesn't expect an extra large ...more
There is nothing like a rickenbacker. It is simply the best guitar brand ever. They may be expensive but they are epic. Very unique tone.
Rickenbacker's designs are classic and timeless. They created a very unique sound that was very influential on the music of the 1960's, thus helping to shape the tones we hear today. As a guitar designer (not a luthier, I only design) I find Rickenbacker designs to be a great inspiration. Also to be said, they make the coolest bass ever the 4003.
I've owned a Gibson Les Paul's & a Fender Strat as well as a Fender Lead I. The action on the two Rickenbackers I have owned is better than Gibson & Fender. Don't get me wrong I like Gibson Les Paul's for their sound quality. But if your looking for action on the neck that is easy to play this one is it. I've owned my latest Rickenbacker for 12 years now and will never sell it. That was the mistake I made with my 1966 335 when I sold it to its 4th owner in 1976, only to find out its worth somewhere in the vicinity $10,000 at this point. This is something that I have always lamented. So if you are fortunate enough to get hold of a Rickenbacker, don't let it go!
John Lennon used to play this guitar on many of the Beatles early songs, and it gave their music that rich and knowable sound we all love and recognize. Also, in the A Hard Day's Night album, George plays most of the songs with a 12-string Rickenbacker. It was a great guitar for the 60s, many legends used it like
Carl Wilson (The Beach Boys)
Meatyest, heavyest... Coolest looking guitar ever made. I own a mocking bird proX in black for $1500 but I got a discount for only $800. Everyone should be using this. Nothing can top this. It's almost never breaks and hard to give scratches. It's worth every penny.
I got a eagle arch top its a beautiful mahogany neck through with great pickups for heavy and light toned my friend has a $2000 Gibson guitar and my neck feels way better and I only paid $800 this company honestly needs way more credit I suggest if you see a eagle archtop or any other because rich guitar try it out!
B.C. Rich. Mick use to get sponsored by them, in lamb of gods dvd terror and hubris lamb of god uses some asms and some biches, awesome shapes such as. Bich, warlock, beast v, and more. Used by heaps of death metal guitarists, awesome widow headstock, awesome pointy headstock, and the cheap ones are very good considering the price.
Just picked up a Warlock Metal Master Tribal for very cheap. The kid who had it didn't take care of it and needed some real TLC. I got it as a project guitar but also as a 2nd for drop D or C. Once repaired I immediately fell in love with it. The most comfortable neck, playability and sound is great. Best lower priced guitar I've found. I love it even more than my Epi SG400.Shop BC Rich Guitars
Schecter is a really great guitar brand. When I was looking for my electric I searched through many guitar brands most of which are on this list and the only one that really felt right in my hands was the Schecter I play. Its got awesome tone quality, gorgeous body design and fret inlay along with very nice balance and it will stay relatively in tune for up to a few days at a time without the pegs slipping. Great for metal and rock and even really lots of other genres as well. Performs very well it should be at least top 5 if not top 3.
Its very obvious very few on this list have never picked up a guitar in their life as this looks like a what brand does my favorite band play list... Considering Gibson these days are garbage and only were good for a few style to begin with no way they're number one... Fender has very solid build quality, but to diversify them to play numerous styles takes heavy modification. As far as electric are concerned there is a number that can top the list, as schecter, esp and Jackson are too low on the list and I've heard good things about rickenbacker. Ibanez is also excellent. Its really a toss up for me...I haven't played much esp do I phased them out...I have extensive time with Ibanez schecter and Jackson... Ibanez is gone because the build quality is no better and the playability is pretty much the same as a Jackson but the Jackson gives you far more bang for the buck... As for schecter and Jackson they put out some fully loaded guitars that are only going to rock you maybe a weeks ...more
I have a sunset hellraiser fr. I have been playing for 8yrs and it is by far the best guitar I have ever owned or even played. Next to the ltd models that I was considering the schecter had better quality, feel, and sound at almost HALF the price of the high end lts. The quality of the abalone inlays, the finish (black cherry), the original floyd, grover tuners, 24 fret rosewood board, incredible set neck (you would think its a neckthrough without checking the specs), and the coil tapping emgs is unbelievable. I could go on forever about this guitar's action, sound, feel, quality, looks... I have spent over a 1000$ on a few dif. Guitars and I will never do it again. Ex- zack wylde epi, 2 usa fenders couple mex. 1's, a gibson Linkin Park standard, ltd kh-602, and a really nice jackson dinky style(not sure model) with 3 carvin humbuckers coiltaped just to name a few. Hellraiser is better than all of them. I recommend any of the hellraiser guitars especially with coil tapping emgs.
I have one and it sounds GREAT! Schecter guitars are great, the hardware are good, the finishing are great. Great sound. And also low price. They are used by avenged 7 fold just for information. Peace
Martin is the best. people are ignorarnt on here. On the top ten best acoustic guitar list they have Ovation as #1!?! and Martins are #2 Why? Ovations are terrible Guitars. If Jesus had a guitar it would be a Martin!
Top drawer acoustic... hands down. This company pre-dates all others listed here. They've been making guitars since 1833. Still handmade in Nazareth PA.
As for acoustic guitars I would've thought Martin would've been undisputed! No1! Maybe the list was compiled by people who are into electric guitars and acoustics are their 'second' instrument.
Apparently the list was compiled by people that wouldn't know quality if it hit them in the ass ;-)
I play electric guitar and have ever only owned Ibanez, however, I got my fingers on my uncles Martin and played a few classical tunes I usually play suited for acoustics. These guitars deserve a spot at the top through sheer performance and unrivaled resonance for acoustic guitars.
They are wrong when they say Jesus plays a Martin. Jesus is actually the creator of Martin and sends these pieces of art down from heaven to keep the world from exploding into an everlasting war.
Even as an Electric Guitar player, Martin will always remain the #1 brand for Acoustic Guitars to me.
Iconic classic made famous by Chet Atkins and The Beatles. Deep sounding semi hollow body guitars and full hollow body guitars with clear note definition that defined sound and made George Harrison's early sounds come to life.
Beautiful, deep sounding hollow and solid body guitars. Strong and rich tone with overdrive and smooth, reversed clean sound. Pickups are amazing, good value, lightweight and are authentic! A no crap beautiful looking and playing quality guitar!
They have a mellow pleasing to the ear tone. Gretsch guitars do not hurt my ears. I like listening to chet, eddy, and brian setzer.
It's such a beautiful instrument just looking at it gives me a thrill, when I saw George Harrison playing his in the early/mid sixties I so wanted one but I could not afford one. Two years ago I bought the Country Gent and I just love the sound it makes.
I have a 67 Celebrity. Super low action, thin narrow neck. Great for small hands. You can effortlessly barre chord and play rhythm all night with almost no pressure.
These guys who have never owned nor played a Mosrite will never know what a great guitar plays and looks like. Owner Mosrite 1963 #1 Ventures model Sunburst, original case and bill of sale where I purchased it.
Smoothest playing guitars ever made. Thin necks, super low action. Perfection.
Mosrites were hand crafted, fast action, electric guitars with driving sound made famous by the Ventures. Their low speed, zero frets, made playing a breeze. Their finishes appeared miles deep and are now prized by collectors.
The person who made up the Top Ten list of best guitars has it all wrong! Of all the guitar companies he lists, Carvin is the only company that still uses ebony as standard material for the fretboard. This is because most other companies refuse to take the time and expense of this type of production. The others all use rosewood because it is cheap, relatively soft and can be "slammed" together quickly by machine; an indication of how they make their guitars in general! No other company who makes guitars even comes close to using the hand selected grade of wood (start to finish) that Carvin does. Take a hint from someone who knows how great guitars made step by step; if you want a guitar made from the best materials you can get, with critical operations still done by hand, order one one from Carvin, try it for ten days, if you really don't like it just return it... No questions and no hassles... Really. If you are not the type of person who cares, or are not willing to do ...more
My Carvin SH575 is a semi-hollow body electric. The size is similar to the Gibson 336, but sounds totally different. When you play this guitar you can't put it down, Carvins are made with computer aid wood carving CNC machines the proto-type of the guitar is measured with lasers and programed into the computer so every guitar they make is to the 1000th to the original. The finish and the detail is awesome. It also is wired with hum bucking pick-ups, piezo acoustic pick-up and Roland GK synth guitar. You can get some beautiful hybrid tones from this thing and I never can stop finding new ones. Try one of these out if you ever go to California I think there is like 5 stores around the L. A. / San Diego area, you will see what I mean.
Gibson and Fender have been ripping the public off for years, they're not even close to being worth what they charge especially Fender with such a mass produced bolt on neck and lame finishes design. Carvin is a superior guitar in every way and what people fail to mention is that you can choose what wood and finish you would like as well as bolt on neck, set neck or neck through designs and their pick up's are impeccable. A truly great guitar co. With excellent customer relations and real musicians will all show respect for Carvin when mentioned if not already owning one.
My Carvin Cobalt 750 is one of the sweetest acoustics I have ever played. Seriously surpasses Gibson, which has too much finish on the neck, and feels clunky. I also own a Carvin ICON 5 string electric bass, which is beautiful in style, color, workmanship and sound. The Carvin acoustic bass was, however, a disappointment. Neck bowed, tuners rattled during playing. Sweet sound though. My daughter still uses it regularly. She loves the feel of it, and with some rubber bands over the tuners it's got a smooth sound.
Plays like a Fender, sounds like a Gibson! Absolutely amazing and incredibly versatile guitar. The pickups are really impressive, the playability is second to none. I sold my first G&L, I'll never live down the regret, so I bought another one. I haven't played a PRS yet, but I own a Fender Strat and a Gibson Les Paul, Schecter and an ESP Eclipse, but it's my that G&L gets the most play time!
I have played a ASAT Telecastor Bass for about thirteen years. I keep purchasing other bass guitars for many other reasons. But I have sold them all. I am down to just one bass that's all I need with my G&L, it very responsive, it has many opitions with pick ups and the action is good. It took along time for me to figure out how to use the pick ups because there is so many different ways you adjust it. They are built with better quality parts than a fender. They are numbered from the factory in america. But watch out for the Tribute series that is fake or cheap want to be G&L. A real G&L will be a little more expensive but the quality is excellent
George Fullerton Leo Fender. Better built and with innovations. What FMIC should have been.
I owe 6 G. & L. and their quality is excellent, better than the Fender of the same range: excellent Woods, smart hardware and good price for the value
Les Paul is the Model not the Brand. Les Paul guitars are made by Gibson - number 1 in this list.
You idiots. This is a model of a guitar!
This is a list of the best guitar BRANDS, NOT MODELS lol...
Seriously Les Paul on number 20? what is wrong with you people?
The only reason why the other guitars are ahead is that they have never played a taylor, I have three different brands of guitar and am most pleased with the Taylor. Just go to a music retailer and test one out, you will not be dissapointed.
Taylors have a "happier" sound and I like the feel of them. I am a novice but from what I have seen for a beginner with an acoustic guitar, they felt and sounded warmer and less tinny than the laminated wood ones. A good rosewood taylor isn't on the cheap side of things but it feels like you can play better than you can. And the model I looked at had strings that were nice and close to the frets so you didn't feel like you were pushing in deep like the keys of an old typerwriter. Go into a Guitar Center or somewhere you can actually feel what you are getting before you buy anything. I got a cheap Gibson online less than a month ago and got what I paid for when it came with the bridge completely missing and a brassy sound when it was played. Buy your stuff in person. I think that Gibson is probably still a good brand, but the quality control of the cheaper models they put their name on is something I might question from my first experience with them...
Taylor should be at 2nd or 1st and I'm not joking I've got a gibson and a taylor and my taylor (taylor 110ce) is so much better then my gibson joan-jett.
I have a Gibson and a Taylor. People say that Gibsons are better, bit I beg to differ. I think that the Taylor is way better, as the sound is richer and it's sound is also clearer than a Gibson. I recommend the Taylor as the best guitar. Some people don't even know what a Taylor guitar is. If you have never heard of, or ever played a Taylor guitar, I recommend you do it. TAYLOR GUITARS ARE THE BEST! You will not regret it!
You should really vote for Kramer!
It's a great guitar-brand, Eddie Van Halen played a Kramer! This guitar should be in the top 5 of best guitar brands! COME ON ROCKERS! VOTE FOR KRAMER!
This brand of guitar is a solid proper built brand mine has been passed down to me from my dad he would of had it for about 20-30 years gone camping travelling never gets dented or scratched and Eddie van halen plays one Mick Jagger plays my one. I REST MY CASE thank you
I have 2 Kramer guitars, Pacer Classic and Assault 220 Plus. Honestly, every Kramer guitar I've ever played never disappointed me. The first time I played a Kramer guitar, the sound was like no other.
I love Kramer guitars but they are now part of gibson corporation... so it's not kramer:D.
I have a Majesty (John Petrucci signature) now and it's the best guitar I've ever played
Of all the guitars in the world, this ends up as number 42!?! OK, amateurs, time to tell the truth, these guitars are the best, simply flawless and amazing. Don't talk about your Yamahas or your Ibanez or even Fender for that case! Those are just decent guitars. You will fall in love with the John Petrucci models; they have clobbered, I mean nearly humiliated Gibson. Try these, then think again.
Music man make the best regular production (i.E. non custom shop) guitars on the planet. Nobody else comes close. This is the quality that everybody else should be reaching for. The fit and finish and playing comfort are second to none. And the oil finish on the necks is to die for! These guys don't just churn out minor variations on the same 60-year old theme, they actually innovate, they challenge, they dare. Wonderful new designs, made for real players. The results are outstanding. Roasted maple and all-rosewood necks, new chambering and tonewood construction ideas. They are so far ahead of the game it makes you wonder why the rest of the industry stays so stagnant. Music Man are the only guitars I will buy now. I'm so proud to support them!
These guitars have the smoothest necks. Their oiled and waxed naked necks are the most comfortable necks I have ever played on. They offer a lot of great options, but they especially accommodate those of us with smaller hands. Every Music Man is fully loaded with ergonomic and functional features. No fatigue, they stay in tune well and set up easily.
Great clean tones, but if you want metal, grab a John Petrucci model or throw in a new bridge pickups to make them scream. All of their guitars can work across genres.
I have owned a Lag guitar. Sorry can't remember the model name. Yet another brand that is underrated. Mine certainly sounded beautiful and the look of it it - well to die for (in my opinion).
Lag guitars have a very good sound that is hard to get with a lot of acoustics. This guitar is underrated
Lag is the best entry level guitar on the world stage, hands down
Should be in top 20, its acoustic guitars are the best
USA Made Ovation Guitars are still built by hand using only the best materials and guitar building techniques. The difference between them and other guitar manufacturers is that Ovation has mastered the art of combining traditional guitar bulding techniques with modern technological advances in materials and proven scientific research. The result is an instrument that equals or surpasses any of the other top named brands (in tone, playability, reliabilty, and awesome looks), while keeping prices down below their competitors... AND keeping the the work and workmanship here in the USA.
I've been playing basic acoustic Fenders, Gibson's, etc etc my entire life. And just recently I purchased my first Ovation! It is the way different feel of having the electric guitar feel while at the same time have an acoustic sounding guitar in your hands! If your trying to switch to acoustic from electric then this would be a great guitar for you! Its also (to me) the greatest show guitar! Because they look great on stage! New favorite brand!
I've found there to be a bit of snobbery about Ovation in guitar circles. There are better made guitars out there but Ovation provide good value, well made guitars. I've had a Summit Series electro acoustic for 20 years and it has served me well. You might need to make a few tweaks to it out of the box but it's worth it.
Ovation have some really amazing acoustics. People like Eddie Van Halen, Bryan May, Yngwie Maalmsteen, Adrian Vandenberg, Bob Marley, Paul Simon and even Mick Jagger played one. Those are all crazy cool legend rock god guitarists! Their bowl shape body amplifies the sound beautifully. My entire family who have been in the music business for a long time have used Ovations. Ovation guitars are easily played without effort nor difficulty. In my opinion they are probably as good as a Gibson or maybe a Taylor, take into account that many people don't like the way the guitar sound is amplified, however, Martin are still next level to any other acoustic guitar out there.
I have an 82 and 91 collector series and a celebrity. Preferred over any other guitars that I have.
Ovation sound best when run through the amp, however what you prefer is entirely up to you.
- Nicolas Vandenberg
White summer/Black mountain side, Kashmir, In My Time of Dying, All the song do have this little percussion in the sound, And they are all played with his danelectro, So its just your preference of sound, but I think it sounds very good. Not to forget Syd barret also had one!
Jimmy Page? Jimi Hendrix? The Hodads they made for a limited time in the late 90's are superb.
I own a Danelectro 59' and it is AMAZING, that's all I have to say.
Good very guitar.
Don't buy magma brand guitar, I will be disappointed! Out of tune every moment, cheap wood but it's not a problem.
These guitars suck! They are cheap guitars. I have one Magma stratocaster shape. I bought it new just because I wanted to spend my 70 euros to see why is it so cheap... Though it's new it has problem on the E high string and on the bridge.
Also this guitar goes out of tune very fast. The wood is ok.
I do not recommend you buying this brand guitar, Go for Epiphone, Squier (these two brands are great for beginners) or if you don't want to spend much money buy a Granite. - Experienced guitarist, 10 years player
A Charvel is the best guitar for the best price. The Floyd rose on it is killer, it is always in tune and I've never had any problems with it. The neck is smooth and totally made for shredding. Charvel guitars are the holy grail.
Charvel is so awesome! Very light and lasts a long time. Has a lot of power like a gibson. Strings are easy to bend and my charvel has emg automatic pick ups and they are really good. Very good for its low price. I have a Charvel Desolation DC-1-ST.
Without a doubt the best guitar made for the money. Compound radius next, floyd rose, light body with a great feel. Adjusting the volume knobs gives you a softer tone if you want. Fantastic guitar!
Exactly what the first comment says. "they're the Holy Grail. " I have a Les Paul and I love it, but there is just something about the 'Vel. The play quality is outstanding.
RJ guitars deserves to be on top one on this list. Low price but, High on quality. This should be the real basis of great guitar brands. More on quality, not on price. Some brands would sale on high price but not on quality; especially, those branded guitars from japan and america. Too much price which is no good but some would be good on quality, others are not. So, RJ guitars got it both, which concludes and proven to be the best of the best guitars. I hope they would not raise their price if they become number one on this list. LOL...
Great guitar produce great sounds and affordable not like gibsons and ibanez the prize is only high
Price and quality very good.
Sad thing sometimes RJ doesn't have originality.
BUT still great guitar THUMPS UP!
Best guitar brand from Philippines. It is good in quality and it is an affordable guitar
The guitars are affordable and better than ibanez for low ranges.
I have Cort Earth Ground Acoustic with Fish Man pick-up. My opinion, I have played Gibson, Yamaha, Pluto, Hoffner etc. Cort is better than all other acoustic guitars.
I have Cort X2, costs about 150 euros, it's light guitar, about 3 kg, great clean tone and playability. Great for Rock and Metal music. The best for beginners.
I got a cort guitar last year it was a acoustic standard and it plays amazing. overall it is a great guitar, it stays in tune for a long time and is amazing. this year I got a red cort g200 electric it is the best electric guitar I have played. CORT IS THE BEST GUITAR MANUFACTURER
These guitars are to hard for most people to understand, but there is so much quality to these guitars, more than most brands. Its like a science project making them most of the stuff on Manson Guitars hasn't even been heard of being used, or even invented by any other brands. Ill tell you what I wouldn't save my money up for a expensive strat that no ones really going to be impressed with or appreciate save your change for one of these bad boys, people will pass out of enjoyment though.
Some of the best craftsmanship I have ever seen in any instrument. They really put their own heart, soul, sweat and blood into the instruments they create. When you pick one up or when you look at it, you just want to go crazy on it and play your heart out they are so well made and look beautiful to the eye.
Fantastic guitars, the only reason this company isn't in the top 5 is because people haven't heard of them. This is because they aren't mass produced, which means you get the best quality. Why buy a limited edition strat which is just the same as all the other ones, when you can buy a manson!
It is a brilliant guitar. They are made very well and the tech is just brilliant. Why is it in 79th place. People need to familiarize themselves more with Manson guitars.
I saved up 1500.00 to buy a guitar. Tried every model and make in that price range. The takamine won with guild a close 2nd
Takamine is my first Guitar! Got a normal not solid wood and guess what its Awesome. Later got a solid one and its unbelievable! It beats most guitar at a price/quality range! D-series rocks!
Great quality. Tone coming out of this guitar is very unique and warm/deep. I couldn't believe that this sounds much sweater than Fender or Martin, even Taylor! Try it out yourself..
What is with the Takamine? It also has a really good sound and is the perfect guitar on stage or just for playing for fun. You make a really good decision if you buy this guitar - it sounds that soft and you just dream if you hear the sound...
It's a really nice guitar, nice sound, great weight, lots of features :) 25 years old and still works. Great quality!
Compound neck, perfect finishing and tone! That's the one which fits me better..
Outstanding quality and the neck plays like butter
Is the best of guitar ever
Why is this all the way down here.. You people are insane.. It's the same as a esp.. They are amazing when it comes to metal and rock... Ill shred your faces off
Very under rated! LTD should in my opinion be in the top 15
I am not a pro musician but I know when an instrument sounds great or not and I must say Fernando is a great buy. The price is cheap but the sound is awesome. You will never regret buying one especially their acoustics.
I have an Ltd F-50 which is very cheap and does its work very good. Ltd guitars are cheap and really good : P : )
Come on everyone! Ibanez is my favorite for guitars, but Dean basses are killer! Their guitars are great too. Vote up people!
These guitars sound great and come at a low price, they have very good quality, and are great for advanced players, or beginners.
I'm checking back in 1 month, this better be above 271!
I have a lot of faith in this progressing guitar brand after going through crappy Ibanez, epiphone, and fender guitars...i have 3 guitars and 2 basses from Dean, my favorite brand by far!
This guitar is good
THIS GUITAR IS KICK ASS AND IT IS the BEST!
I've used my Hamer Monaco Elite as my primary electric guitar for some time now. It's easy to forget the intoxicating feeling you get when you play it, even though you play every single day. Every time you open the case or look at it hanging on the wall it just takes your breath away with it's beauty. Also the quality of work is truly incredible. Hand build, hand carved top, manually painted. The binding round the neck covers the ends of the frets and the depth of the flamed maple top is deep as an abyss.
Of course, as with every opinion, this is entirely objective but I just can't imagine a guitarist being disappointed with a Hamer. I've played at least six Hamers from different time-periods and they are all equally desirable in my opinion.
Putting Gibson in first place is nothing but a mistake. Yes, Gibson makes good guitars (some really good) but the amount of lemons they make is just way too high to put them on top, and I'm not only talking about the cheaper ones. ...more
HAMER = GOD LIKE QUALITY
I currently use a Hamer (American made) Artist, with the F hole with honey finish. It is by far the most beautiful and smooth playing guitar I have ever played. I've played every electric guitar at guitar center priced from $1,000-$3,000 and I ended up buying a Hamer from Wolfe Guitars in Jupiter, Florida. (BEST SHOP EVER)
Hamer is literally the top of the line. Similar to a PRS, but better playability, quality of craftsmanship, and overall you can tell it was made in a shop of just a few individuals (less then 40 workers).
Last I heard, they don't produce them after fender bought them. If you can get your hands on it, BUY IT
Very underrated, but VERY good. They make quality instruments and because of this, they aren't very prolific. Still, they are one of the best and they make the best novelty guitars too like the famous checkerboard, the five-neck and Rick Nielsen's "Uncle Dick" guitar.
I've taken the time to play as many great guitars as I possibly can since I started playing, and to this day, Gibson, Fender and all those other brands, although great in their own right, don't match up to Hamers, they look beautiful, sound better than they look and they quite simply kick massive ass
Nice sound. Light and sustainable. A recommended choice for beginners. Value for money is good! I highly recommend you buy a Suzuki guitar today!
I bought fifty years ago one suzuki guitar and still has a great sound, is almost like new. Of course it is not the best guitar in the world but is good.
Nice for beginners but fret board is a little fat
Awesome, good guitar for people starting out
Made in China but awesome worthy for the price I mean it's very cheap but really goes on to the standards of yamaha
That is cool guitar for the everyone, because it has very bass sound and so beautiful!
I also have a starsun guitar. My first one. It's awesome for a beginner. Nice sound too
Please give this brand more votes!
Seagull Artist, by far the best I have ever played, followed by the Art and Lutherie
Godin A6 Ultra. Has acoustic AND electric inputs. You can even use a slide on it. You can make it sound however you want.
If this company was American, it would be in the top three on the list. Godin is a Canadian company and their guitars are made in Canada and the USA. Their pricing is absolutely tremendous and the quality is as good as any on this list. Check them out. The value / quality / performance ratio is excellent.
I feel sorry for this brand. It deserves a better place in this evaluation. These guitars are more then fine and their price is more then accessible for this quality. Moreover they are wonderful for concerts: the sound is clear, rich, warm and balanced; especially when the top is made of cedar wood. Alain Godon. Romania.
I have a Johnson and works fine!
I have my Johnson acoustic-electric guitar that I bought in US and if I'm not mistaken my Johnson is 10 years old now or maybe more than 10.
From what I've heard, Johnson guitars have great tuning ability and sound like shear perfection.
I have 2 Johnson acoustics that I bought at garage sales for 1.00 and 5.00. the 5.00 one plays and sounds great.
ARIA SHOULD REPLACE YAMAHA IN THE TOP 10 LIST!
because I hate kasuga! their just imitations of gibson les pauls!
plus I have a custom aria!
its purple with a gold marble plate, built-in tuner, and in the dots there are LED lights!
Solid copper tuning keys!
I've had an aria guitar for the last 40 years, it's a great sounding well balanced instrument. I've played a lot of other, better brand names like gibsons and martins, mine is just as good, if not better.
It is a great guitar... Because I have this guitar... This sound is awesome and terrific, it should be placed in number one.. Because its sound quality and bass is really great
It is a great choice! Vote this guys. Trust me you will love its sound quality. Its worth it guys! Please vote this guitar best model too! And designs
This one is great! This brand should be next to Yamaha.. I just can't believe it's down low.. My friend has a Fernando guitar and I have a Yamaha.. Both just sound great..
I am not a pro musician but I know when an instrument sounds good or not and I must say Fernando is a great buy. It has an affordable price for an awesome sound. You will never regret buying one especially their acoustics.
Good Prices... Nice Sound... Specially the Acoustic Guitar that they have... It has pretty classical tune to it...
ok everyone kasuga guitar is the best its better than epiphone and stuff my guitar teacher said and he is so good so I think he knows what he is talking about so year go kasuga
Over 30 years of playing different guitars the Kasuga I had in the late 1970s was the best and I was a total idiot for getting rid of it.
Kasuga's is the top guitar brand it has such good sound and are a rare guitar I have 1 and nothing will beat it I recommend this guitar brand to every 1 they are so good just unbeatable so vote for them 2 and add comments
everybody here vote for this trustworthy brand. A Kasuga guitar is the best they will beat every other guitar I have 1 they are just so cool so good in sound they last for ages there just brilliant
2P DXL CUSTOM airline. They bleed rawness and feeling.
I'm no pro, but I take my time when I'm buying a guitar. I played everything, and for feel, sound and playability, I was about sold on a Gretsch 6119 vintage remake. Then I played an Eastman TX 186. Hollowbody constructed from all solid wood, better pickups than the Gretsch, and just fantastic tone that gets better the more I play it. And it cost about 60% what the Gretsch cost - not an entry level price, but a guitar I won't get tired of playing. They deserve to be better known. Some of the Epiphones and most of the Ibanezes felt and sounded cheap in comparison.
The first Eastman guitar I bought was an affordable AC320CE (sitka spruce top and mahogany sides and back). I liked it so much that later on I bought an Eastman E20 OM (adirondac spruce top and rosewood sides and back). That last one I play daily and it still blows me away. Great guitars for a great price.
I bought a Southern Star in about 1976-74... I forget now... The label inside has withered so much I can't make out the date. I still have it and play it more than ever... A few years ago I had it completely refurbished... It has never looked and sounded better! I would go to my grave with it... except I'm going be cremated! So whoever my favorite guitar player is at the time of my death... Will get something special in the post!
This guitar isn't at all 'environmentally friendly'. Real tortoise shell, African ebony, Bavarian spruce, rosewood, German nickel silver and Blackwood are just some of the materials which have gone into this masterpiece.
Any Maton prior to the early 90s is a beautiful sounding instrument. The newer ones are still nice but in my personal experience a fair way off the earlier sound. I have had and sold many guitars and it is my '67 CW80 and '69 FG150 12 string that I have never parted with. Instrument choices are always a personal thing and I have played "cheap" old guitars that were still nice instruments. The older matons though have a tone that is instantly familiar and difficult to explain. Pick one up today and see if I am wrong
Wow! You guys have no idea at all! (probably Americans! )
Maton is the true winner here people!
Doesn't matter what anyone tells you, put a Maton next to Martin, Taylor, Cole Clark or any of the above and Maton will outperform them in Tone, looks and character!
Each has their own preference - mine will always be Maton
Best guitars in the world
Their just not well known as relatively few guitars are made and it is hard to get in the us
I tried many guitars and a maton blows them away
The good thing a bout maton is that even their lower end models are real maton's made with the same luthiers who make the high end models. unlike fender, gibson, martin, etc who sell you a cheap Chinese knockoff fooling you into thinking you have the real thing
By far the best bang for the buck. These guitars are beautifully made with good attention to details such as fret ends, bridge fit and neck joints. They also have wonderful finishing and are made from quality materials. The 'snob' factor is the only thing against them, they are not Gibsons. Martin's or Fender's, BUT they do play just as well and quite frankly, only those with a good ear and perfect pitch could tell the difference in a rock environment. I have Fender, Gibson, Taylor, Columbus, Washburn, Squire and Maccaferri Guitars, as well as Richwood. Sadly like the great majority of guitarists, the guitars themselves are more capable than I am, and I am happy to admit it. Having an exceptional guitar will not make you an exceptional guitarist, just as a more professional camera won't make you a professional photographer. The Richwood Artist / Master series of guitars are good, believe me! For the average guitarist, pro or am, you can buy more expensise guitars but not better as far ...more
I get richwood in the morning.
My first and only guitar currently is a stagg and I'm in love with it. there is nothing majorly wrong with a stagg and I'm proud to say I own one. it serves me well in my work and that's all I could ask for
I recently purchased a stagg and the clarity is amazing even though I bought it used I still love it I plan to give it a new coat of paint and fix it up a little
I have a les paul copy stagg and it has served me well as my first guitar, it sounds pretty decent as well.
I have a Stagg guitar it's my first guitar and! Have it since I was 8 years old and now I'm 12 but still, it sound like a new guitar! It sounds pretty good better than Gibson. Even my friend who's using a Gibson guitar says that Stagg is more better than Gibson.
Have you seen them... You could even design your own in almost every way... Great sound but you would expect that when you could be spending £5000 on one but I'd say that's worth it for the acoustic of your dreams... Check out the site
Lakewood guitar is the best!
It is beautiful and its sound quality and its woods
Yeah! Sound of Magic!
Lumanog is very under rated, for me they make the best acoustic guitars far better than brands up there, and most of all, it is all in the package, low prices and best quality!
#1 in the Philippines. This guitar brand is legendary! Made of quality wood, and gives you quality sound! I have 2 of 'em cause I really trust this guitar brand.
I have 3 of these, not all workers have the same hands, so its up to you to choose the best guitar on the wall.. If your lucky you might end up buying one as good as le paul or even gibson..
I have a lumanog guitar that is fresh from the Philippines. I'm using it for at least 10 years now.
I'm playing Pluto past 3 months ago.. This is my 5th guitar. It sounds very good, well furnished and beautiful look...
The best acoustic for anyone. I have been using it for 2 years and it sounds like lakewood. It is even better than gibson. It has a nice standard look and easy to tune for it's better sound quality
I like the sound of pluto's acoustic.
its better than my 1st guitar and many other brands
My 2nd acoustic was pluto... It really sounds amazing. Looks are too good and well finished.
I have been using it since 3 years. It is not even costly. Its good looking and I think its even better than gibson. It even very easy to tune for it has a very good sound quality. More over it has a beautiful look like a guitar. Even a beginner should be advised to buy this guitar for it cost a minimum of 3000 rs. So as it is less costly and more quality it's the best for me. I even like lakewood but its cost is just my dream.
I am using it since 3 years. They really make good guitars with good sound in an affordable price.
I have a Granada guitar... It is a great GUITAR! It sounds very well...
Because even I have a Granada guitar
Good quality for a reasonable price and nice sound!
