Best Guitar Brands

The Top Ten

1 Gibson

The Best Guitar is not in price but in model it's a tip the heavy wood makes the guitar heavier so I think this is the best

The best guitar tone ever comes from a Gibson Les Paul. The heavy wood makes the tone rich and full, and if you replace the pickups with some nice bareknuckles, you have the best guitar ever. Period.

Greatest guitar company of all time. It is simply, awesome. The rich tones when its on clear, and the amazing rock crunch when you flip on the overdrive. I have many Les Pauls, and they are the best. I have both a 1958, and 1959 burst colors and they are amazing. I also end a few stratocasters, they suck compared to my Les Pauls!

2 Fender

I have a fender too its great I giving one for free to someone if you wont give me a call

I gave up my guitar to my 17 year old granddaughter who Is working on her first album I need one 503-997-1612 thanks Amelia.

I'm really not into the whole gibson vs. Fender thing, I've just been exposed more to fender and its great, but I should probably familiarize myself more with gibson as well. But I just really like fender. Stratocasters, telecaster are ideal

My guitar teacher has a fender and everything about it is beautiful from the sound to the look. Gibson vs Fender. Fender all the way.

Hendrix! Done. Over. Next question.

3 Ibanez

Best brand in price/quality relation. I have 4 guitars, an epiphone explorer goth made on korea, and Jackson KV2 made on usa and 2 ibanez. RG320PG P2 and a RGT6EX, both made on indonesia. The first one is the cheaper, but the sustaine, action a comfort is very nice for a bugget guitar. I've played bugget guitars of other brands, and ibanez is far superior. In fact, my RG320 P2 is nice as some others guitars that cost twice of it price. Mi RGT6EX is excellent, to me must worth $1000 USD but the real price is close $800 USD or less.

My epi is very nice (Almost like a gibson for 1/3 of a gibson price) and obviously, my Jackson is far superior than my other guitars. But I'm just have mid end ibanez guitars and they are very good guitars. The high end ibanez are awesome and worth less than high ends of other brands in most cases having with the same quality (or superior in very cases).

The other plus to the brand is that the made a lot of improvements of guitars technology. ...more

Very nice sound for those who like to play hard rock or metal. It has got a very nice clean sound as well. Ibanez is the guitar I use mainly, and will keep using. Of course fender and gibson are the kings. But the ibanez guitars are not too expensive good for beginners and for the professionals!

Great guitar brand. Not as expensive as gibson but same quality

Great mix between good pricing, and good affordable components, clean rewarding sound all in an iconic body.

4 Paul Reed Smith

PRS makes some of the best guitars in the world. Who ever made this list is insane, PRS should be right after gibson. They're better than fender. Go to a guitar center and try one! - mikepiazza06119

How is PRS 12? Most pro's have switched from Gibson to PRS, or from any brand to PRS for that matter. Go to any guitar store and put ANY PRS against any high end guitar and see for yourself. "Ibanhad" should be taken off this list, and all these 3rd rate walmart brands should be removed as well. How are there brands on the bottom of this list that don't even produce guitars?

This is hands down THE BEST brand there is! Trust me, I've been playing guitar since I was a kid. I've had used, owned, and tried every guitar there is. Gibson is NO WAY better than PRS, the sound quality of a PRS is awesome! They are pretty light, the designs are awesome as well, although PRS is a bit more expensive than your average guitar it is worth every penny! Gibson's are way too over priced and would never match the PRS. I used to own a gibson sg and lp, and I sold them after I had my own PRS. If you really know the difference between a good and a great guitar you would pick PRS over any other brand. Period.

Awesome guitar I own the 408..traded Gibson les Paul for move ever..gibson quality blows

5 Epiphone

I have a limited edition epiphone les paul custom plus and it looks exactly like a gibson

Lets face it they rock! I've got an epiphone, I've had it for ages and it just works. Great tone and playability. I'm getting another one, I've got a les paul and am getting an sg. Epiphone all the way!

I have a epiphone sg 50th edition and it does great by me in all I do. I play a lot of 60's music and otherwise all I want. It's very versatile and not to mention the cherry red wood grain finish makes it looks really awesome. Everyone I've ever met has bragged on it and I've been offered all kinds of guitars from Washburns to fenders. Just recently I went to a old guitar player of 30 yearsiin my grandfathers neighborhood and he absolutely loved the tone and playability. He said the only thing it might need to make it better was a professional setup which I'll soon be getting. When I first got it I complained a lot that the strings were a bit harder to push down due to the longer scale of the neck (the neck on it is pretty long) however. If you' work with it for about 2 days off and on its no problem. I love epiphone and judging from what I've played in ibanez guitars I might soon invest in one of them.

Ibanez is the least favorable in my experience. My Epiphone has treated me right throughout the years and I will always love it. Although Fender, Jackson, and PRS are great too. Epiphone and Gibson are very similar.

6 Jackson

Jackson make very nice, fast and great looking guitars. To me, jackson's have both of to universes, the elegance and the aggressive look at the same time. For example, take a audi, a mercedez and a bmw. Gibson is like bmw, mercedez like fender (or perhaps old cadillacs) and jackson is like and audi, aggressive and elegant.

But not all is good. The well made jackson guitars are expensive, the cheaper ones are very bad guitars. In case of ibanez, to me is the best brand if you talk about quality vs price.

The only reason why anyone likes Ibanez is because it's cheap. When you're ready to buy a real axe, get a Jackson. Ibanez is not a "shredder" brand, it is a budget brand, just like Carvin. Jackson has it all: great sound, great feel, great looks, great for shredding! I'll admit because Rich makes some interesting looking guitars, but Jacksons are still cooler (if you've ever seen a Kelly, I'm sure you'll agree). Jackson For the Win!

I think jackson (particularly the USA models) are truly the most versatile of all the high end electric guitars. The build quality is second to none as they are made at the custom shop by very experienced luthiers, the woods used are exotic and tonally superb. The hardware is the best around Floyd rose/ Seymour Duncan's and the action/playability is fantastic. All in all you feel although expensive, you feel like you're getting your monies worth. But the great thing is that they produce an incredible array of sounds which covers all aspects of musical style from the beefed up classic grind of a Gibson, to the stringy percussive violin sounds of a start and everything in between. The USA ones are expensive but I have 2 (an sl 1 and sl 2) and given the enjoyment and reliability they have given me, they owe me nothing.

Have one. it's amazing. it' s black

7 Taylor

I have a taylor and it is much better than my gibson. The sound is clearer, the guitar looks better, it is very easy to play, and it is affordable for what you pay for. This should be the best guitar brand should be at this top of the list but I dunno what people these people are thinking

The only reason why the other guitars are ahead is that they have never played a taylor, I have three different brands of guitar and am most pleased with the Taylor. Just go to a music retailer and test one out, you will not be dissapointed.

Taylors have a "happier" sound and I like the feel of them. I am a novice but from what I have seen for a beginner with an acoustic guitar, they felt and sounded warmer and less tinny than the laminated wood ones. A good rosewood taylor isn't on the cheap side of things but it feels like you can play better than you can. And the model I looked at had strings that were nice and close to the frets so you didn't feel like you were pushing in deep like the keys of an old typerwriter. Go into a Guitar Center or somewhere you can actually feel what you are getting before you buy anything. I got a cheap Gibson online less than a month ago and got what I paid for when it came with the bridge completely missing and a brassy sound when it was played. Buy your stuff in person. I think that Gibson is probably still a good brand, but the quality control of the cheaper models they put their name on is something I might question from my first experience with them...

I have this guitar and it's sounds and plays AWESOME. I really think if you're going to get a guitar then you definitely need a Taylor

8 Yamaha

You really get the most out of your money with Yamaha. A very reliable brand. Even the low range guitar guitars like the Yamaha erg121uc2g are Brilliant.

I have a yamaha sg 1000 like Carlos Santana's. It rocks! I tried it with a Gibson sg of the same price and it didn't match the quality. Then I tried a Les Paul Gibson about one and a half grand more, even that wasn't as good as the sg 1000. Lets face it, the Japanese (this does include Ibanez for they are awesome too) kick ass when it comes to quality and price!

I have a yamaha SG 1000, bought it for $2100 (stock prive 2500)(aus and after haggling) and also tested gibsons from the same price range. From that I found out that although the quality of gibson is good, it's way too over priced especially comparing my sg to a les paul at $4000 that is not even as good as my sg.
Secondly, this is Japanese, need I say more? Japanese are all ways known for cheap electrical products however they're also the most RELIABLE products that's why customer support is a not needed thing.
Thirdly, yamaha has been known for musical instruments for a long long time and is the biggest producer of musical instruments. On its logo, it has got two tuning pegs meaning unlike any other musical brand, it is the most diverse. The only reason that people say fenders and gibsons are better is because they were the original makers of contempory electric guitars and the fact that they're well known. So basically, all you're paying for is the badge.

Amazingly stable. Great value.

Way better than fender for metal than a fender will ever be! The quality of a ESP gives really good rifts and a nice and clean fret board so your fingers don't have to stretch so far plus they have an amazing tone to it with both distortion and non distortion

High power, fast playing, easy to pick up. I love the playing quality and simple beauty of the body!

Seriously, Yamaha above ESP?! Japanese made ESP guitars are among the best in the world, no wonder so many people play them. They have great designs and an ESP standard is not to high in price compared to a USA Jackson or custom shop guitar. Ibanez prestige are very nice to (I hate the necks personally) but the build is really good. ESP blows Gibson out of the water by a VERY large margin. Gibson has lawsuits against them for selling "USA" made guitars that were discovered to be imports from cheap labor offshore factories. All ESP and Ibanez prestige guitars are made in Japan and are immaculate in terms of quality and consistency. ESP is more a metal guitar but they have much better tone than any of the others listed, the only one here that might have a sweeter tone is prs but for $8,000 and only a fractionally better tone that is subjective they can keep it. I personally like ESP and Schecter best but Jackson is really good too. Not to knock Ibanez, but their necks are way to thin ...more

So much better than the others in my opinion, the neck is quite literally perfect in my hands (thin u and xtra thin u) amazing sound, good price and beautifully designed. They have a lot of classic shapes such as the les Paul body, sg body and super strat. Best is totally subjective to the player of course but I am a rock/metal player and Ltd has been my go to for a long time. I had a brief love for schecter for a while but went back to using Ltd because the necks are just to nice. My first favorite was Ibanez and while all of them make great guitars, every one of the Ltd 1000 series I have played were perfect. No dead spots, intonation issues, cosmetic blemishes. I have never owned an esp but someday I plan to get a horizon. Right now I have an Ltd mh 1000 (see thru blue) and a Ltd m 1000e (snow white). Both are everything I could ever want in a guitar.

10 Martin

Martin is the best. people are ignorarnt on here. On the top ten best acoustic guitar list they have Ovation as #1!?! and Martins are #2 Why? Ovations are terrible Guitars. If Jesus had a guitar it would be a Martin!

Top drawer acoustic... hands down. This company pre-dates all others listed here. They've been making guitars since 1833. Still handmade in Nazareth PA.

As for acoustic guitars I would've thought Martin would've been undisputed! No1! Maybe the list was compiled by people who are into electric guitars and acoustics are their 'second' instrument.

Apparently the list was compiled by people that wouldn't know quality if it hit them in the ass ;-)

11 Rickenbacker

There is nothing like a rickenbacker. It is simply the best guitar brand ever. They may be expensive but they are epic. Very unique tone.

Rickenbacker's designs are classic and timeless. They created a very unique sound that was very influential on the music of the 1960's, thus helping to shape the tones we hear today. As a guitar designer (not a luthier, I only design) I find Rickenbacker designs to be a great inspiration. Also to be said, they make the coolest bass ever the 4003.

Nothing sounds like these guitars they have a sound like none other. Anyone who thinks any of imports come close to the American made brands are out of their minds. You can, t make something better for less. Some of these people have no idea what quality is.

12 B.C. Rich

Meatyest, heavyest... Coolest looking guitar ever made. I own a mocking bird proX in black for $1500 but I got a discount for only $800. Everyone should be using this. Nothing can top this. It's almost never breaks and hard to give scratches. It's worth every penny.

I got a eagle arch top its a beautiful mahogany neck through with great pickups for heavy and light toned my friend has a $2000 Gibson guitar and my neck feels way better and I only paid $800 this company honestly needs way more credit I suggest if you see a eagle archtop or any other because rich guitar try it out!

B.C. Rich. Mick use to get sponsored by them, in lamb of gods dvd terror and hubris lamb of god uses some asms and some biches, awesome shapes such as. Bich, warlock, beast v, and more. Used by heaps of death metal guitarists, awesome widow headstock, awesome pointy headstock, and the cheap ones are very good considering the price.

13 Gretsch

Iconic classic made famous by Chet Atkins and The Beatles. Deep sounding semi hollow body guitars and full hollow body guitars with clear note definition that defined sound and made George Harrison's early sounds come to life. - MosriteCharlie

Beautiful, deep sounding hollow and solid body guitars. Strong and rich tone with overdrive and smooth, reversed clean sound. Pickups are amazing, good value, lightweight and are authentic! A no crap beautiful looking and playing quality guitar!

They have a mellow pleasing to the ear tone. Gretsch guitars do not hurt my ears. I like listening to chet, eddy, and brian setzer.

By far the most awesome tone of any guitars

14 Schecter

Schecter is a really great guitar brand. When I was looking for my electric I searched through many guitar brands most of which are on this list and the only one that really felt right in my hands was the Schecter I play. Its got awesome tone quality, gorgeous body design and fret inlay along with very nice balance and it will stay relatively in tune for up to a few days at a time without the pegs slipping. Great for metal and rock and even really lots of other genres as well. Performs very well it should be at least top 5 if not top 3.

I have a sunset hellraiser fr. I have been playing for 8yrs and it is by far the best guitar I have ever owned or even played. Next to the ltd models that I was considering the schecter had better quality, feel, and sound at almost HALF the price of the high end lts. The quality of the abalone inlays, the finish (black cherry), the original floyd, grover tuners, 24 fret rosewood board, incredible set neck (you would think its a neckthrough without checking the specs), and the coil tapping emgs is unbelievable. I could go on forever about this guitar's action, sound, feel, quality, looks... I have spent over a 1000$ on a few dif. Guitars and I will never do it again. Ex- zack wylde epi, 2 usa fenders couple mex. 1's, a gibson Linkin Park standard, ltd kh-602, and a really nice jackson dinky style(not sure model) with 3 carvin humbuckers coiltaped just to name a few. Hellraiser is better than all of them. I recommend any of the hellraiser guitars especially with coil tapping emgs.

I have one and it sounds GREAT! Schecter guitars are great, the hardware are good, the finishing are great. Great sound. And also low price. They are used by avenged 7 fold just for information. Peace

Great guitar

16 G&L

Plays like a Fender, sounds like a Gibson! Absolutely amazing and incredibly versatile guitar. The pickups are really impressive, the playability is second to none. I sold my first G&L, I'll never live down the regret, so I bought another one. I haven't played a PRS yet, but I own a Fender Strat and a Gibson Les Paul, Schecter and an ESP Eclipse, but it's my that G&L gets the most play time!

I have played a ASAT Telecastor Bass for about thirteen years. I keep purchasing other bass guitars for many other reasons. But I have sold them all. I am down to just one bass that's all I need with my G&L, it very responsive, it has many opitions with pick ups and the action is good. It took along time for me to figure out how to use the pick ups because there is so many different ways you adjust it. They are built with better quality parts than a fender. They are numbered from the factory in america. But watch out for the Tribute series that is fake or cheap want to be G&L. A real G&L will be a little more expensive but the quality is excellent

George Fullerton Leo Fender. Better built and with innovations. What FMIC should have been.

G&L is the evolution of Fender guitars, no doubt, is Leo Fender expressed by itself, amazing axe, nice sound, in tune, good wood, my ASAT SPECIAL have bird's eye wood on fretboard that looks and feels amazing, the MFD's pickups rocks! nice playability, nice sound, I'll keep mine a lot of a time, it must be on top 10, underrated guitar in my opinion

17 Carvin

The person who made up the Top Ten list of best guitars has it all wrong! Of all the guitar companies he lists, Carvin is the only company that still uses ebony as standard material for the fretboard. This is because most other companies refuse to take the time and expense of this type of production. The others all use rosewood because it is cheap, relatively soft and can be "slammed" together quickly by machine; an indication of how they make their guitars in general! No other company who makes guitars even comes close to using the hand selected grade of wood (start to finish) that Carvin does. Take a hint from someone who knows how great guitars made step by step; if you want a guitar made from the best materials you can get, with critical operations still done by hand, order one one from Carvin, try it for ten days, if you really don't like it just return it... No questions and no hassles... Really. If you are not the type of person who cares, or are not willing to do ...more

My Carvin SH575 is a semi-hollow body electric. The size is similar to the Gibson 336, but sounds totally different. When you play this guitar you can't put it down, Carvins are made with computer aid wood carving CNC machines the proto-type of the guitar is measured with lasers and programed into the computer so every guitar they make is to the 1000th to the original. The finish and the detail is awesome. It also is wired with hum bucking pick-ups, piezo acoustic pick-up and Roland GK synth guitar. You can get some beautiful hybrid tones from this thing and I never can stop finding new ones. Try one of these out if you ever go to California I think there is like 5 stores around the L. A. / San Diego area, you will see what I mean.

Gibson and Fender have been ripping the public off for years, they're not even close to being worth what they charge especially Fender with such a mass produced bolt on neck and lame finishes design. Carvin is a superior guitar in every way and what people fail to mention is that you can choose what wood and finish you would like as well as bolt on neck, set neck or neck through designs and their pick up's are impeccable. A truly great guitar co. With excellent customer relations and real musicians will all show respect for Carvin when mentioned if not already owning one.

18 Washburn

Had gibsons, fenders, etc. Was really impressed with my washburn idol. Only downside is that there aren't many dealers, so you've really got to make an effort to get one in your hands. Dollar for dollar, one of the best brands out there. Quality can be spotty if you look on ebay, so I'd recommend craigslist... Buy em used, since they don't hold value like the big brands.

Recently picked myself up a second J28SCDL Jumbo, which was set up beautifully and I have to say it truly is an amazing guitar. It could give some of the higher priced guitars a run for its money. Lovely sound, creative design and clearly a lot of guitar for your money. I seriously encourage you not to over look Washburn when looking for a good guitar at an affordable price. Might end up your favorite guitar!

I think Washburn is one of the best out there, From their A series, to HM to x series they all rock. I've had a a-10 since 1980 and it plays great! I have also got the reissues still great quality over the years. The only issue I've seen is Washburn's commitment to catch/keep some artist. Either they can't keep um or they don't want to. Can't see it being the later. Its very difficult to try one of their pieces out as their are very few stores that even stock them. In the 80's early 90s they were everywhere, now?

It should be on 5th

20 Parker

This list is an amateurish joke. Many guitars listed are pure cheap junk I'd toss in the garbage even if they were free. Take it from a 45-year Pro, Parker & PRS are the 2 highest quality. Fender, Ric and Gibson, along w/ brands that have stood the test of time, plus a few hand-made (custom) brands are the only ones you can seriously depend on. The rest are mostly pathetic attempts at copying a major brand and cutting the price by REALLY cutting back on quality. As they say: "You get what you pay for. "

I can't believe Parker is this low. I can't say it surprised me to see the top ten. I understand Gibson, Fender, Ibanez, PRS, and other companies that have stood the test of time should be in the top ten list, but for those that have played a Parker, there's no going back to any other guitar.

Best guitars on this planet... And maybe others. Best neck in the business. Stays in perfect tune without a locking nut. Don't believe me... Go play one with a carbon neck & stainless frets.

No. 1 manufacturer of E-Guitsrs in the eotld by far!
Neck: No competitors to parker world wide
Body: From Poplar to Basswood to Maple to Mahagony: Each of my 4 Parker guitars with its unique sounds are endless sustain and vibration artworks right in front of your belly.

21 Music Man

Music man make the best regular production (i.E. non custom shop) guitars on the planet. Nobody else comes close. This is the quality that everybody else should be reaching for. The fit and finish and playing comfort are second to none. And the oil finish on the necks is to die for! These guys don't just churn out minor variations on the same 60-year old theme, they actually innovate, they challenge, they dare. Wonderful new designs, made for real players. The results are outstanding. Roasted maple and all-rosewood necks, new chambering and tonewood construction ideas. They are so far ahead of the game it makes you wonder why the rest of the industry stays so stagnant. Music Man are the only guitars I will buy now. I'm so proud to support them!

Of all the guitars in the world, this ends up as number 42!?! OK, amateurs, time to tell the truth, these guitars are the best, simply flawless and amazing. Don't talk about your Yamahas or your Ibanez or even Fender for that case! Those are just decent guitars. You will fall in love with the John Petrucci models; they have clobbered, I mean nearly humiliated Gibson. Try these, then think again.

These guitars have the smoothest necks. Their oiled and waxed naked necks are the most comfortable necks I have ever played on. They offer a lot of great options, but they especially accommodate those of us with smaller hands. Every Music Man is fully loaded with ergonomic and functional features. No fatigue, they stay in tune well and set up easily.

Great clean tones, but if you want metal, grab a John Petrucci model or throw in a new bridge pickups to make them scream. All of their guitars can work across genres.

These are world class guitars and have got probably the best feel any guitar can give apart from that u can play everything on these guitars from classic rock to jazz and blues followed by metal. the main thing that these guitars are known for is their finish and there unique necks which are really fast and not too thin which keeps your tone and feel in place. I would say that these guitars definitely deserve a place in the top 3 and definitely do watch out for the petrucci signature models

22 Ventura

I have played most of the top name guitars and I have yet to find one that measure up to my 1982 Ventura Jumbo Acoustic. I have a 1969 Standel Jumbo that comes pretty close. As far as a solid body, Telecaster is the sweetest I ever got hold of. I, also, have a '60s Kent 820 that I love to play. The sound and action both were great.

A good basic Japanese made brand that's lasted over 30 years in my hands.

25 Guild Guitars

Guild is the most underrated American premium guitar brand. Almost as good as a Martin & way better than most Gibsons, Guilds are typified by clear, crisp, even tone. While lacking the full bass & tinkly top end of a Martin, the evenness of tone is a selling point for many artists, along with the clarity. The maple models are especially bright & brassy in tone, making Guild a popular brand among rock stars in the 70s, their heydey, when some of the finest American guitars came out of their West Waverly Rhode Island plant. Top-end Guild acoustics are graced with an ebony fretboard more typically found on jazz models, slightly curved and beautifully inlaid with abalone fret markers. The Guild jumbo 12-string has been an especially prized instrument, and was for many years considered the best mass produced American 12 string available.
Guild acoustics have been seen in the hands of Eric Clapton, George Strait, Graham Parker, Bonnie Raitt, Doyle Dykes, the Monkees, Bruno Mars, Avril ...more

Over the last 30 years I have played all types of guitars on stage and off, and the guild guitars are the only ones I will step on stage with now. The warmth, tone, and feel of the acoustic and electric Guild guitars are unmatched by fender, or Gibson in my opinion. Best guitars on the market!

Nothing sings like a classic Guild.

Guild has gone through a lot of ownership changes, but they sound unbelievable. Their high end is at the best of the best, and their low end guitars are excellent players!
I love them!

Takamine is my first Guitar! Got a normal not solid wood and guess what its Awesome. Later got a solid one and its unbelievable! It beats most guitar at a price/quality range! D-series rocks!

Great quality. Tone coming out of this guitar is very unique and warm/deep. I couldn't believe that this sounds much sweater than Fender or Martin, even Taylor! Try it out yourself..

Best guitar for any type of music

It's probably the best you can get for the price. Beautifully handcrafted, great tone-woods as well as a nice finish and most of all a crisp and clear sound that you would normally get only for a few hundred bucks more. It is definitely a high-quality product for a moderate price - you really see and feel that it is a Godin brand!

It has a good and deep and clear sound that awkens my soul any time that any one strums each string while holding down a c or g or a minor chord. It creates music that is high quality. Ha I'm saying all this so the goodness bar fills. It's the max now!

I have an A&L folk guitar, and the sound is great. Super for fingerstyle picking. Best acoustic I've owned for the price.

Great gfuitar and a tremendous value. I love all Godin guitars especially the Seagull (love the headstock) - next to aquire is the Norman

31 Magma

Don't buy magma brand guitar, I will be disappointed! Out of tune every moment, cheap wood but it's not a problem.

32 Manson

These guitars are to hard for most people to understand, but there is so much quality to these guitars, more than most brands. Its like a science project making them most of the stuff on Manson Guitars hasn't even been heard of being used, or even invented by any other brands. Ill tell you what I wouldn't save my money up for a expensive strat that no ones really going to be impressed with or appreciate save your change for one of these bad boys, people will pass out of enjoyment though.

Some of the best craftsmanship I have ever seen in any instrument. They really put their own heart, soul, sweat and blood into the instruments they create. When you pick one up or when you look at it, you just want to go crazy on it and play your heart out they are so well made and look beautiful to the eye.

It is a brilliant guitar. They are made very well and the tech is just brilliant. Why is it in 79th place. People need to familiarize themselves more with Manson guitars.

33 Seagull

My first real guitar was a Seagull S6 and it was hand made at an entry price level. Truly an amazing guitar with a very warm sound. I tried a few others and finally got myself a Mini-Jumbo Maritime Seagull because nothing compared for the price. I'd highly recommend Seagull for sound, build quality and style. Simply beautiful!

I have owned a seagull guitar for about 2 years and it is just amazing. It has good sound quality and is a great acoustic guitar! They have fair prices too...

It has a very sweet sound and easy to your ear crisp picking pitch that won't let you put her down.

Own 2 also solid top fabulous sound great price 5 stars

34 Breedlove

I have a Breedlove acoustic guitar, and it feels natural in my hands. If you are looking for a lot of bang for your buck, the solo breedlove series is amazing. If this were an acoustic guitar list I would expect breedlove to compete with Martin, Gibson, and Taylor at a lower price range. In the end it is all about feel.

I play a Breedlove and it compares very favorably with Martin, Taylor, and Gibson while I prefer it to Fender acoustic guitars (I think Fender electrics are much better). Beautiful tone, and in one place where I play I'm not allowed to plug in. At that place, my Breedlove is the only one of my guitars I can get sufficient volume from. My other guitars are a Martin, an Ibanez, and a Schechter. Breedlove should be in the top ten.

Amazing! Wonderful workmanship, and sound. From there passport series to there custom series, every guitar is worth having.

Wonderful richness, clear intonation, and great playability. Magnificent attention to detail.

35 Alvarez

My 5222 from 1988 still plays great, looks beautiful, and just keeps sounding better and better--and the 5222 was a reasonably inexpensive guitar. Really rich tone. The only thing upgraded are the tuning machines and nut from the plastic to bone.

Alvarez has always been an under-rated brand. Beautiful workmanship, great sound- an excellent value for the money. I have one of the old six string "dove" guitars and a Yairi 12 string: both are close to forty years old and both still sound and look great and have never needed any repairs. I also have an old Martin six string. I have done the "blindfold" test with friends to choose the best sound between the alvarez and the martin - alvarez wins every time.

Alvarez masterworks are some of the best guitars made. They are not rated as high as others because they do not cost as much. Cost has NOTHING to do with quality. Big name manufacturers are a rip-off

Awesome. I have an Alvarez RF26CE. It sounds so sweet and very fine. I always spend hours holding this guitar and feel guilt whenever I take it back into its case. Though string action is a little bit hard but it's still tolerable. m/

36 Maestro

Affordable price but no compromise in quality. Even the SD1 for beginners produce great sounds.

Amazing guitars, specially the Custom Series full solids. You can choose from variety of tonewoods and soundboard combination and 4 different shapes. Offering almost every player's preference. You can also choose options such as soundport off-the-rack. Great craftsmanship, amazing tone, and superb playabality at an amazing price. Great guitar, and definitely not an OEM brand. They only make their own guitars.

This is a good brand because Maestro comes from Gibson.
So therfore it as beautiful just like Gibson. What so bad about this? I think MAESTRo... IS... AWESOME!. So... Ge

38 Ramirez

Seriously, Ramirez guitars are the best. Ebony fretboard, solid brazilian rosewood back and sides, solid cedar top ivory or bone bridge and a masterly construction make them the best guitars ever.

39 Eastwood

2P DXL CUSTOM airline. They bleed rawness and feeling.

I'm no pro, but I take my time when I'm buying a guitar. I played everything, and for feel, sound and playability, I was about sold on a Gretsch 6119 vintage remake. Then I played an Eastman TX 186. Hollowbody constructed from all solid wood, better pickups than the Gretsch, and just fantastic tone that gets better the more I play it. And it cost about 60% what the Gretsch cost - not an entry level price, but a guitar I won't get tired of playing. They deserve to be better known. Some of the Epiphones and most of the Ibanezes felt and sounded cheap in comparison.

The first Eastman guitar I bought was an affordable AC320CE (sitka spruce top and mahogany sides and back). I liked it so much that later on I bought an Eastman E20 OM (adirondac spruce top and rosewood sides and back). That last one I play daily and it still blows me away. Great guitars for a great price.

40 StarSun

Made in China but awesome worthy for the price I mean it's very cheap but really goes on to the standards of yamaha

That is cool guitar for the everyone, because it has very bass sound and so beautiful!

I also have a starsun guitar. My first one. It's awesome for a beginner. Nice sound too

Please give this brand more votes!

42 Johnson

I have a Johnson and works fine!

I have my Johnson acoustic-electric guitar that I bought in US and if I'm not mistaken my Johnson is 10 years old now or maybe more than 10.

From what I've heard, Johnson guitars have great tuning ability and sound like shear perfection.

43 Aria

because I hate kasuga! their just imitations of gibson les pauls!
plus I have a custom aria!
its purple with a gold marble plate, built-in tuner, and in the dots there are LED lights!
Solid copper tuning keys!
mahogany neck!

I've had an aria guitar for the last 40 years, it's a great sounding well balanced instrument. I've played a lot of other, better brand names like gibsons and martins, mine is just as good, if not better.

My first guitar, and also my dads. It's been in my basement since 86, and it still sounds great (after being retuned)

44 Kasuga

ok everyone kasuga guitar is the best its better than epiphone and stuff my guitar teacher said and he is so good so I think he knows what he is talking about so year go kasuga

Over 30 years of playing different guitars the Kasuga I had in the late 1970s was the best and I was a total idiot for getting rid of it.

Kasuga's is the top guitar brand it has such good sound and are a rare guitar I have 1 and nothing will beat it I recommend this guitar brand to every 1 they are so good just unbeatable so vote for them 2 and add comments - Smith

Great guitars. Massively under rated. Check out Kasuga Guitars on Face Book

This one is great! This brand should be next to Yamaha.. I just can't believe it's down low.. My friend has a Fernando guitar and I have a Yamaha.. Both just sound great..

I am not a pro musician but I know when an instrument sounds good or not and I must say Fernando is a great buy. It has an affordable price for an awesome sound. You will never regret buying one especially their acoustics.

46 Stagg

My first and only guitar currently is a stagg and I'm in love with it. there is nothing majorly wrong with a stagg and I'm proud to say I own one. it serves me well in my work and that's all I could ask for

I recently purchased a stagg and the clarity is amazing even though I bought it used I still love it I plan to give it a new coat of paint and fix it up a little

I have a les paul copy stagg and it has served me well as my first guitar, it sounds pretty decent as well.

My First and best Guitar.🎸

Have you seen them... You could even design your own in almost every way... Great sound but you would expect that when you could be spending £5000 on one but I'd say that's worth it for the acoustic of your dreams... Check out the site

49 Richwood

By far the best bang for the buck. These guitars are beautifully made with good attention to details such as fret ends, bridge fit and neck joints. They also have wonderful finishing and are made from quality materials. The 'snob' factor is the only thing against them, they are not Gibsons. Martin's or Fender's, BUT they do play just as well and quite frankly, only those with a good ear and perfect pitch could tell the difference in a rock environment. I have Fender, Gibson, Taylor, Columbus, Washburn, Squire and Maccaferri Guitars, as well as Richwood. Sadly like the great majority of guitarists, the guitars themselves are more capable than I am, and I am happy to admit it. Having an exceptional guitar will not make you an exceptional guitarist, just as a more professional camera won't make you a professional photographer. The Richwood Artist / Master series of guitars are good, believe me! For the average guitarist, pro or am, you can buy more expensise guitars but not better as far ...more

50 Granada

I have been using it since 3 years. It is not even costly. Its good looking and I think its even better than gibson. It even very easy to tune for it has a very good sound quality. More over it has a beautiful look like a guitar. Even a beginner should be advised to buy this guitar for it cost a minimum of 3000 rs. So as it is less costly and more quality it's the best for me. I even like lakewood but its cost is just my dream.

I am using it since 3 years. They really make good guitars with good sound in an affordable price.

I have a Granada guitar... It is a great GUITAR! It sounds very well...

I am a professional guitarist and I have been using this since 5 yrs. It's really good and it's good for the beginers too. It's often very easy to play and use. This guitar is not costly and this guitar is best for me. I advise for the beginers to buy Granada guitar.
